Does everybody but me love the Profile RDA?

Good analogy with YES, always kind of felt the same way.
You must like a hot vape cause I run mine at 40-42 but I do like a cooler vape.
Try that rayon in some of your coils. I think it performs better than cotton in every way. But..... it's all so subjective....
I always drip and pulse about 5 times for break in. A couple pulls at lower watts then it's good to go.
See, I grab my series box and WOOSH, it assaults my senses. I go back and pick up the profile with the strips and it's like almost nothing.

The single coil build in it obviously itsn't like a series mech, but it's warm enough and I really love the flavor. I am still not giving all the way up though LOL! The profile/mesh thing may still surprise me yet.

The rayon does look very very promising. I do plan to try it in some other builds.

It takes some getting used to but it pulls juice up to the coil like a freight train.

I feel ya Vroxx. My other rda's are probably getting sold soon. I bought 2 while my first profile was on a slow boat. Now I have 3 profiles and can't be bothered by the others.....

I know how that is Bob. I sold 25 RDAs once I discovered the Profile RDA!

http://vapingunderground.com/threads/wts-wtt-aspex-performance-coils.434798/
Now I'm giving those Topsides the side eye...more battery and a bigger bottle that fills from the top....I really like my Therion BF's running replay but TC not really needed on the profile. Just squeeze it and hit it....boom

I saw that. ......

I have no reason to believe you would lie to me and I KNOW your knowledge and experience utterly dwarfs my own. I say that with hat in hand.

That said, I don't know how these mesh strips wouldn't instantly burst into flames at 110 watts. My not knowing that doesn't make it impossible. But my experience is, everything in this thread, tight cotton, squonked so wet I had juice trying to get out the airflow holes and hits drying out at the end at 65 watts.
If I can help you along in this journey with your Profile, don't hesitate to reach out. I love mine and I want others to love them as well. I'll help in any way I can. Do try the "Datt White Stuff" before you give up. It's a match made in heaven for the Profile RDA.

Shipping wasn't bad......got this rda, 2 boxes of coils, and an eleaf pico mod, and shipping cost was only $6.
First time ordering from Sourcemore.com so I'm interested to see if they can beat those awesome FT shipping times.

I think 70 is about the limit for the build ABOVE

I got a couple of slightly burning rayon hits off it last night and this morning.

My hopes for mesh strips strips ever really being an exciting vape for me are hanging on by a thread. I just picked up my VK530 and my Lotus with a simple round wire titanium build in it running at 480F, that is a far less troublesome and expensive and it's just so much better. Huge vapor production, rich juicy flavor and never a single dry hit, ever. I don't even have to think about it.

Believe me. I WANT to come back in here and proclaim... "EUREKA!!! THIS IT!!! I am now a member of the mesh lovers club!"

That prospect is not looking likely though.

The answer is YES.
Ya know this is actually not true as it turns out? Do a search on Reddit. Seriously.

As usual I am not downing the Profile/mesh and I will always understand how many people will love it, but there has been quite a few Reddit posts and comment threads with folks in similar situations to mine.

Despite being dead simple in appearance, a royal pain to setup and too tame and cool if you get past the dry hits. Pretty much my experience.

If 40 or 50 watts on a .2 and below build were where I live, I'd probably love it too. People are just different.

I know, just messin with ya.
Vaping truly is different strokes for different folks. All the different ways to vape...then through taste and preferences in the mix...

Did this thread really get to page 3 without mentioning the VandyVape Mesh?
And how horrible it is? And how you can roast marshmallows with it?

I got interested in the Mesh rda because of the idea of a mesh coil, but I quickly grew tired of the "firestarter" VandyVape mesh and just started using the deck with regular coils.
It does make for a wide open build deck though.

My first clue with the VV mesh strip should have been that it looked like it was made out of just a little denser wire mesh pattern screen door material. So, I look forward to trying what seems like an advance in mesh coil technology.

I guess it is a little analogous to how squonk mod technology plods along.
Like from this........to this.

I am in no way saying that the GeekVape GBox is in any way.....cutting edge technology.

Not a big fan of the VV mesh either. I prefer SS and don't know of any other. I do think we will see a lot more options in the future. A follow up by Wotofo and other companies trying to get in on the $$$.
Sure would like to have some thicker SS for sure.
I think the nexmesh is my favorite so far.

Anyone try using 2 staple coils in there profile? I no that sounds crazy and probably wouldn't work. I have a profile on the way gonna stick it on my pulse x. I like the pulse x RDA but the damn thing gets really hot after 2 or 3 long hits. I can't wait for my profile to get here! Anyone ever used any corrugated framed staple alien wire?

No corrugated. Buy Framed Staples? Yes. Framed Staple Aliens? Yes. But not in the Profile RDA. Seems...sacrilegious...blasphemy even...

Gotcha, only use framed staples in the pulse x RDA? I'm probably just gonna run mesh in the profile and no staple coils, if I wanna use staples I'll just use the x RDA. Looks like I'm gonna have to buy another squonker because I don't wanna have the profile RDA just setting around by its self.

I don't know how anybody would ever get 2 usable coils in the Profile, but a single works great.

I don't know either it was just a thought. How's the mesh coils that come with the profile, are they the best mesh, or are there better mesh coils to use in the profile?

Vaperoxx is right, but so is gsmit1. There is no wrong in vaping.
No the nexmesh is different than included Wotofo.

You would have a hard time making dual coils work on the Profile, they would be 90 degrees off from facing the air flow.
The top cap locks into position so the air flow holes would be directed at the cotton.

I don't wanna always be the difficult one, but I like the SS mesh that Bob sent me the best of all the meshes I've tried so far.

Thank you for the info, just ordered another for $20 w/ shipping....been vaping on my first one for 3 weeks on the same coil. Nexmesh, Cotn loose cotton about half the thickness of the strip. I found the wotofo cotton too thick and would wick properly. Also added an extra spring the the ceramic block.

I've got some mesh that someone sent me with the profile I bought of them. Too many purchases ago to remember who though. :teehee: But it's a 450 ss316L. I'll get some pics of it this afternoon. Like a big sheet.

I think the SS tastes cleaner but that's me. I just wish it was a bit thicker. I get good results from all 3 but lean towards nexmesh or SS. Would like to find better than VV for the SS for sure.

So over the past month I’ve tried the different mesh types I got in the mail:

SS316L 150 by Digiflavor
Ni80 100 by Digiflavor
A1 NexMesh by OFRF

The Digiflavor mesh come on a roll so they have to be cut into individual pieces of 16.8mm x 8mm.

Wicked using a full sheet of organic cotton with the outer layers peeled off.

I was disappointed with the NexMesh. After vaping on Ni80 mesh for 2 weeks and getting amazing flavour, NexMesh was a letdown. Less flavour than an Ni80 FC 5 wrap coil.

I was similarly disappointed with SS mesh. It’s about the same flavour wise as NexMesh, pretty underwhelming.

Verdict:

100 grade Ni80 mesh has more flavour than either of the other two, and about 20% more than the Wotofo mesh. It’s an amazingly flavourful mesh.

I’ve found a setup I’m happy with, and I’ll be sticking to Ni80 from here on out.

If you’re wondering, I got the Digiflavor mesh directly from GeekVape.

Man I recently pounced on a Pulse X too, and I am so pleased with that atty!

Superb, beautiful machining everywhere, high quality materials.

Really cool innovative design with the x pattern 4 post design and waterfall squonk holes. Quick and easy coil installs and never a dry hit.

Love the angled airflow, the different airflow modes and the notched AFC ring is so nice and grippy.

Vandy Vape did an amazing job with this RDA. I love it and I’ll be using it for years to come.

In terms of flavour, with 2 Nichrome coils (any clapton or alien situation) this is the only atty I have that can hold a candle to the Profile on mesh.

PS:

@Roman_RO oh yeah this baby heats up quite a lot. Especially with beefy A1 Claptons or aliens, it gets real hot. Not as bad with Nichrome coils.

Just got 8 hits on a wotofo mesh coil in the cut mod. Would never happen on the Topside. Here's the pics of the mesh sheet I have. Closeups are macro

Your panel has the x logo? You probably got the pulse x g10 I got the seaweed green pulse x my panel don't have the x logo :(
I'm like you I really do like my kit,its not heavy and is the perfect size will fit down in my front shirt pocket without weighing my shirt down. There are 2 things I dislike about the Atty. One, the tank gets really really hot but that's to be expected right...and two I don't much care for the screws that hold the coils down, when I got home from work I took off my top cap and checked everything out and one of my coils wasn't getting good connection and hanging down a little was falling out of the screw hole. All of the screws were loose still getting connection though. I have a profile RDA coming and more than likely I'll probably switch to it and use mesh for awhile. All in all I give the pulse x mod a 8 outa 10 on the rickter scale lol....

I dunno about a g10 bubba, this is the one I got.

Yeah the post screws are pretty ordinary, I would prefer hex screws. Hex is where it’s at, baby.

I love it so much I wouldn’t mind having one in stainless too.
