Hi All, Anthony Vapes back here with my review of Uwell Crown 4 Sub Ohm Tank. Please see bottom for disclaimers and links. Note: this is marked as a sample

Introduction:
The Uwell Crown 4 Sub Ohm Tank is the latest sub ohm tank from long time popular manufacturer Uwell. They have a long time track record of making popular tanks dating back to the original crown tank back in 2015. I was never personally a fan until the crown 3 and the nunchaku tanks both that were great for their time and the nunchaku still stands as one of the best tanks for DTL vaping under 50 watts, while the crown 3 has been surpassed by other tanks. The high watt subohm tank market is kind of dominated these days by freemax, the geekvape alpha, and the horizontech falcon so we’ll see if this one can stack up. It’s available in 6 colors Black, Green, Silver, Blue, Purple, and iridescent (Rainbow). They sell for 29.95 USD on element vape so standard sub ohm tank price point.

Looks and Design
The Uwell Crown 4 Sub Ohm Tank is a pretty standard looking sub ohm tank. It’s a 25.7mm diameter at the base and 28mm at its widest point if you use the bubble tank. It comes with a 6ml capacity bubble glass as well as a 5ml capacity straight glass. Outside of that it’s a standard looking metal tank with a black delrin 510 tip with a small metal color matching ring on the bottom. That type of tank is pretty popular these days so nothing stands out really about it. They offer it in 6 colors so good variety and the silver i have is quite nice with a shiny finish. Overall I find it to be a nice looking but pretty common looking tank.

Features and Functions
The Uwell Crown 4 Sub Ohm Tank uses a standard 510 drip tip so you can also use your own if you’d like obviously no adapters to 810 so it’s 510 only. The Drip tip does need to be an o-ring one as friction fit won’t work so make sure the 510 you choose has its own o-rings if you want to replace it. You can use the crown 3 tips just fine though. The drip tip is a black delrin one with a matching metal color ring on the bottom. Looks nice and has a little flair but different than the normal resin one’s we see nowadays so some may like the simplicity more then the resin ones. All the threading on this tank is excellent. It’s a very nicely built tank with good quality. The coil system is a pop in style coil system like their crown 3 so you don’t thread it into the base. You just pop it into the chamber instead. You need the tank to be about half empty to swap coils. Airflow is 3 large holes equally spaced apart on the bottom. It’s plenty of air, easily made for DTL vaping. The AFC is smooth and easy to adjust even on mod thanks to the nice raised bumps on it and it’s on a stopper. Filling is somewhat easy as well, The are 4 good sized fill holes and easy to fill with any bottle type and you can just pour into it with a glass bottle if you are careful. The top fill uses the 90 degree turn to pop off style which is great, however with the crown 4 due to the top cap being think and very slick even with the bumps on it for grip it’s really hard to grip and get off. They should have made the top cap bigger and maybe added some knurling for texture to make it easier to grip. It comes with a standard 5ml capacity tank and a 6ml capacity bubble tank.

Coil Performance
Now to the important stuff. How does it vape? There are supposedly 4 coil options in total, i only listed 3 as their 4th one which is listed as a SS304 mesh coil doesn't seem to exist so not sure if it’s something in the future coming or something they planned to do then didn’t. Either way i’ll focus on the available ones. The 3 available options are, 0.2ohm Dual SS904L Coil - rated for 70-80W, 0.4ohm Dual SS904L Coil - rated for 60-70W, and 0.23ohm FeCrAl UN2 Coil - rated for 60-70W. It only comes with 2 of the coil options which are the 2 SS904 coil options and not the mesh coils. However since mesh is popular these days and better for sub ohm tanks (but not rebuildables lol) I purchased a pack of mesh coils to try them as well. Also the SS904 coils are usable in TC mode assuming you have a mod that is good for that (note: not all mods with temp control actually work correctly) I made a post about their use in TC mode here but the short answer is with an accurate mod the TCR value should be 85. I started with the .4 ohm SS904 coil. It was ok just deent for flavor and best in the 70-75 watt range so good rating on the coils and a little underrated like we usually see from uwell but i prefer that to the overrating many companies do on their coils. The life was pretty good as well, I ran 90ml through before it died. It’s a bonus it can be used in TC mode but outside wanting to use TC on a premade tank there are much better coils out there. Then the mesh coil i purchased separately. I found it best at around 70-75 watts just like the other coil so again a little underrated but good rating overall. Flavor was really good for a 70 watt mesh coil. Pretty comparable but not quite as good as the fireluke mesh coils which vape around 60-65 watts so a similar range. The bonus though with these is the tank has a 6ml capacity and not a 2ml capacity like the fireluke mesh so less filling. Life wise again i got 90mls out of it so good consistency on the coils. Overall it’s a really good performer with the mesh coils for a 70 watt vape, and a decent option for TC with the non mesh coil.

Pros
  • Build Quality
  • Looks
  • large fill holes
  • No Leaks
  • Color Options (6 total)
  • Standard delrin 510 tip
  • AFC adjustable easily on mod
  • thread quality
  • good capacity 6ml
  • bubble tank included
  • 3 coil options (2 usable in TC mode)
  • easy to take apart
  • really good flavor form the mesh coil
  • good coil life from both coils
Cons
  • non mesh coil is just ok for flavor
  • top cap is hard to unscrew due to lack of grip
Conclusion
So with all that said, do I recommend this tank or not? I don’t like to do a hard yes or no, but i’m going to lean towards the yes for this one. It’s not the best tank out, but at 70 watts it’s a pretty good option that’s well built, easy to find coils (and uwell supports their tanks with coils for a long time), and vapes really good with the mesh coil and has a TC option so hard to complain and i’d consider it one of a handful that are worth buying around that watt range along with the freemax tanks and the falcon tanks. I will be adding this to my sheet of recs linked below.

This is Anthony Vapes just keeping it honest, hopefully you all can say the same and i’ll catch you on my next review.
