This came with my rig mod V2 and I can't for the life of me figure out what it is.

Maybe it's a travel piece you screw into the hybrid 510 hole so you can safely transport the mod without an atomizer on it, but with the batteries in it?

If it threads up inside the cap, this is probably the explanation.
If it had a whole on the other side to screw an atty into, I would agree, but that's now the case. I think that you might actually be right, a piece to screw into the hybrid 510 for safe travel. I had a thought though (and I could be way off, but doesn't the rig dripper have to be screwed into the mod making it all one piece if my memory serves me right? Maybe it screws into the atty to make it where you could use it on any mod. Maybe? Eh, I don't know.

But why the threads along the outside of the big part?

Good question. It is an odd item. I have no idea what this could be. Maybe I'll try some research and see if I can find anything. I've never seen anything like this before.

I'm thinking if the tube has a removable cap that this piece screws up from the inside with that contact looking thing butted up against the opening where the atty attaches, then the atty would make contact with it and the pin would touch the battery. But THEN, why the threads on the part sticking down that looks exactly like the 510 on any atomizer? No need for threads if it's just hanging there toward the battery. Hmmm. maybe it's a puzzle :D

Only thing I can think of is maybe you screw that all the way down touching the battery and then screw an atomizer down to touch the flat part so that you can use any atomizer on the mod. I could find nothing via Google OR YouTube. Very strange.

That's an adapter to turn a hybrid RDA into a standard 510 connection RDA. At least that's what it looks like to me.
That would be my first thought but there are no threads on the RDA.

Here's a clue that I'm still deciphering, but this one has a hole in it.
Rig-V2-MOD-Roughneck-RDA-Build-Combo-Kit-1-1-clone-800x800.jpg

That's the one that is the hybrid top cap.
The atty screws into it in the center and the entire thing screws in to the mod until snug with the battery.

Yes, but the one that Gadget posted doesn't have a hole. It has an integrated 510.

I saw the threads on the base which made me think they match the threads on the adapter piece, but how would putting those two together give you anything different than simply the same 510 connection that every rda already has? in other words you'd end up with the same thing as every other rda except with the bottom screwed on instead of being part of the base. Why would anybody want to do that?

The rda in the pic doesn’t have a normal 510. It’s designed to be a true hybrid. Not what most call a hybrid. The piece allows the rda to be used on other mods that aren’t true hybrids.

I don't own one but that is what I was thinking.

it's MUCH easier to find a pic of a unicorn on the internet than it is to find a pic of the bottom of one of these RDA's

This is a V2

Well I'll be damned, that's what it looks like to me.
I bought a Rig mod awhile back (from here) and it came with stop sleeve but no RDA, this piece was in the box. :)

Thank you

This is probably obvious to everyone else, so forgive me here, but if I hadn't bought a couple SubOhm SZXs recently I still wouldn't understand this. So I'm going to go a little farther than @xXxelis_prxXx did.

Besides the RDA 510 adapter pictured above, the other piece of this puzzle is the 510 adapter for the tube mech. The SubOhm SZX RDA can be connected directly to the SZX comp mod in a true hybrid connection, eliminating the 510 pin. But either the RDA or the tube mech can be converted to use a 510 pin.

Here's the mod and RDA ready to be connected in a true hybrid connection.

And here they have the 510 pin adapters that can still be used together but more importantly with other devices using a 510 pin connection.

Sorry if that's over-explained, but as I said, I wouldn't have a clue. But I'm way new at this.

I gotta put in a plug for Sub Ohm Innovations. Fantastic customer service and a great company to do business with. I bought a brass setup from @CrazyChef v2.0 and really like it, so when I saw their blowout 70% sale I ordered several acrylic sleeves for the brass and a red SZX mod and RDA. Hell of a deal at that discount. When it arrived I wasn't thrilled with the finish on the red tube; looked like the black undercoating was showing through a little on the sleeve and was slightly off from the rest of the mod and RDA. It's pretty subtle, and I'm probably a little picky; I don't know if the pictures show that very well but I've included one.

Anyway, I called and talked to Kathy at SOI and she said no problem, return it and they would replace it. They had another red one returned last week with same issue. I asked if I could change to the blue instead of red and she said no problem. She sent me a return label to ship the red one back and shipped out the blue one the next day.

It's not often I see this kind of customer service and wanted to publicize it. I have no affiliation with them, just a very happy customer. And BTW the sleeves and tips look pretty good for $7.50 plus shipping.

Yep, 2 more days. Ends at 5:00 pm 5/24, and they're on the left coast so I assume that's local time.

Er, I think it's over.

Sorry. I'd loan you some will power but I'm fresh out. I have the same problem. I ordered the blue sleeve and need to stop. Really good folks to deal with.

Do the sleeves fit on either mod?

Good question. All I have are the regular tubes, not the shorty. Quick call to them would tell you. Kathy is very helpful.
