Mods batteries exploding!

Good he's educating, but his overall theory that "it's mech mods" I don't think is accurate at all.

From my casual observation, there are 3 common causes of injury/accident with vaping:

1 - "Hybrid" mech mods - those with direct battery contact. These SHOULD be called out as "don't use unless you totally understand the difference"

2 - Careless usb charging. This can be (often is) a "pen style" device, and includes using frayed wires, any old charger being used, charging in car, damaged port, etc.

3 - Loose batteries. In pocket, in purse, etc.

By FAR, I think #3 is most common, and probably 1 is least common. And issues from use of regular ordinary mechs is fairly rare.

And here is what the news articles and videos like the one posted above don't tell you!

Common sense

1 - If you totally understand the difference between a hybrid mech and a mech with a 510 pin, but you don't totally understand the simple fact that both types are intended ONLY for those who have adequate knowledge of battery safety as a whole, then does calling out hybrid mechs as "don't use unless you totally understand the difference" make any real or proper sense? (Has anyone else except me noticed that those who spend a lot of their time on totally scaring people away from hybrid mechs are those who have spent zero amount of time on totally explaining what this difference factually is?)

2 - The average vaper doesn't have the technical knowledge or capabilities needed to determine the safety level of a given mod's internal USB charging... this is one of important reasons why Mooch does not recommend internal USB charging, which is still something most vapers aren't actually even aware of. Especially those people who, with every chance they get, scare everyone away from using a mech aren't typically aware of this fact, and, IMO this helps illustrate in good detail why the most common cause of injury/accident with vaping is always sheer ignorance/stupidity very often fueled with repeated (until hell freezes twice) hogwash being touted as sound battery safety advice.

3 - It isn't just about loose batteries... it's also about torn battery wraps and things like a regulated mod that's wrongfully thought to be "safe", when the reality is that the built-in safety protections of a regulated mod are not to be confused with the safety level you get from your average power tool's battery pack that's equipped with a certified Battery Management System (BMS), and that the typical round cells we use for vaping were never designed to be used outside such a fully protected battery pack anyway in the first place.

People who haven’t a clue nor will ever take the minimum amount of time to do basic research will be in the news. Personally, I feel much more safer on Mech’s for I am in charge and responsible for my safety, not someone working for slave labor shitting out chips. </rant>
