Dvarw DL from KHW Mods

I'm surprised there isn't a thread for this fantastic RTA. I have tried a few RTA's in my time and the Dvarw DL is simply outstanding. My initial reaction when I ordered one a long time back was that it was a little old fashioned and horror of horrors it was a bottom fill! I popped in a Ni80 2.5 Nano Alien and wicked it up and filled it with my ADV which is a menthol berry litchi juice (Red Pill) and no RTA has surpassed the Dvarw DL since then. A couple has come close like the Taifun GT IV, EVL Reaper V3 and Hussar X but for all-around practicality, it's a hard act to follow.

I love the bottom fill of the Dvarw and it is a piece of cake to refill while out and about. No faffing around with juice flow control and leaking after refill... turn it upside down and screw off the tank.. refill and pop it back and bazinga!

Also great juice capacity with the 6ml real glass tank.

I enjoy my Siam Mods Tower drip tips and the flat top of the Dvarw is perfect for them.

Granted the old fashioned coil posts take a little getting used to but I have no issue securing my Nano Aliens legs under the screws.

And the most important issue of all... and that's the flavour... for my juice profile, it's the winner by far!

There are two way to wick the Dvarw DL... personally, I like what I call the Exocet method where I like the tails slightly protruding from the juice holes whereas others like to tuck the tails inside the dome covering the juice holes.

Now that they've introduced the glass tank I bought a clone for a go. Almost hope it doesn't work for me, if I do it's another rabbit hole.

I will if I love it. Authentic is pricey for a maybe. I usually use top air tanks and leary about bottom air leaking. I'll try your wick technique first. What id coil size are you running? I was thinking of using a 2.5mm.

Ever since I saw you post your Dvarw’s on ECF. I decided to get a clone to see if I like it. Have been using it for over a month & I love it!

So much I got another clone & the top fill tank section to try. I love your Siam tips! I haven’t ordered any yet. I’m leery of getting an authentic after buying a Authentic & clone Juggerknot Mini & they’re exactly alike. For now I’m quite happy with my clone. Maybe I’ll get an authentic.

I use 3mm & on the clone I’m only able to use superfine Clapton, single wire or 28g twisted. The screws to capture the wire is tiny on the clone & try as I might I couldn’t get thicker Clapton wire in.

that's the least of my problems. my shit is nearly always either just leaking or condensing out the vent.

I use a Rafale which has a great filling method from the top but you have to be careful of not forcing it into the chamber and creating too much pressure or it floods the coil and you get a big glop out the air holes. Design of the coil allows it to run right out if it floods~!

@jinx'd I have... used to use in the old days in my REO's. Are you saying I should try it again?

I should have asked = what do you think of rayon.

oh heck no, you have tons more experience than I do. I won't tell you. but if you tell me, I will listen.

I just rewicked my Aromamizer Plus, F'n thing is leaking all over. I think I thinned the wicks to much.

:) Rayon was great back in the day and was a revelation after using my wife's cotton balls... but the new kinds of cotton available like Mavaton X and Titanium Fiber Cotton are just outstanding!

I have a few Rayon based cotton mixes that I have tried as well and none of them match these new cottons!

Built the clone today. Had to settle for a twisted fc which I'm not fond of and used rayon which unfortunately I can taste but the flavor is surprisingly good. Definitely worth investing in the authentic and some wire. So happy that I won't need the bubble for the authentic, looks awful. The height will take some getting used to though.

Rob, are using the steam turners top fill on any of your dvarws?

@Letitia9 no I have benched the Steam Tuner top fills... I vape a menthol juice and the ST Tanks mark with menthols and citrus!

Most of my Dvarw's now have the REAL GLASS tanks and they are the way! They look good and I'm convinced it tastes even better... but I think that may just be in my mind because of the good looks!

Try to get a tin of Titanium FIber Cotton if you can... it's awesome... if you are using 2.5mm coils then split the cotton in three for a perfect fit and if you are using 3mm then split in two!

I'm using a 2.5mm and happy with the size. I have some native wicks platinum I'll try in it next. Since I have to use glass I'll just stay with bottom fill; even with the not horrible coil and awful rayon the flavor shines so worth the trade off. Never did I think I'd be willing to go back to bottom fill. Kind have a love/hate thing for you at the moment Rob.

Is the dvarw af louder and a bit turbulent on yours? I haven’t played around with the build and the other af thingys yet but it's louder and not as smooth as the jk mini.
It’s real quiet & smooth once you sort the wick. Once right not a peep of noise,
