Salt nic alternative

So I been using pod systems lately and I get a terrible cough from them and I've decided it's probably the salt nic causing it because if I vape my regular 3MG attys I have no prob, I moved from 50, 40 and 25MG salt with same issue. What strength regular juice can I put in a pod system?

I use a 12mg freebase in my pods. Nice that hit with mtl but not too much as to cough

Make up some DIY at 36MG and dilute it until you found your happy place.

Update, ran out and picked up some 12 MG juice and put it in my pod and it's working perfectly for now. Definitely don't have the urge to have a coughing attack.
