We have a batch of GodMod Overlords coming soon and these are very special to Cloudist.Store. Due to our relationship with these guys, we are getting our first batch with our very own serial number and this batch is going to be custom finished by yours truly. GodMod has allowed us to call these the Overlord- Cloudist Edition.

We will be doing these in 3 different colors all of which are exclusive color blends for us and to show some love, we are offering them to you guys first. Once these touch Instagram or facebook, they will be gone rather quickly. They will be selling at $220 + shipping and they will come with the stock drip tip as well as a color matched brass drip tip for matchy matchy. Which is still significantly cheaper than buying direct from Russia.

Our serial number starts at CS-000 for those interested. If you want in on this awesomeness do please let me know.

Man I bet those will be stunning

They sure are going to be. Serial #CS-000 is going to be the only one that differs from the others, just because it is special. We will be doing 4 runs like this each year. 1 per season of special editions and the rest will be regular stock colors.

Thanks for the info, look forward to seeing them!

I was informed this morning they will complete the construction of them tomorrow. They said they will ship Monday. I will follow up if that is the case.

So the brass overlords showed up the day before yesterday. I ordered these with all 10 of them having the grey/white switches to allow for easier color matching on the final finish and this is what I received.
overlord-buttons2048x1367.jpg
All of a sudden my Russian friends speak bad English so going to have to change the color schemes on some.

Was originally planning to do 3 in Cloudist.Blue, 3 in Cloudist.Green and 3 in a metallic black scheme.

Wanted to get some thoughts before I plow through these and end up having to do them a bunch of times so they sell.

1. I am thinking I can pull off the Cloudist.Blue on the 3 yellow buttons due to the streaks of blue.
2. I may do the fire engine red on the two red ones since I still have some of that mixed up ready to spray
3. I can pull off the Cloudist.Green on three of the requested switches and then maybe whip up something off the wall for the others, I am pretty close to having my chameleon color flip cerakote sprayable. Maybe do them in that.

Thoughts?

I don't remember the name of the color but you posted a stunning gray color. Maybe black with gray/silver fleck?

Good god man. That's stunning

Appreciate it brother. Thats not all fancy lighting and photoshop filters either dude. I am working on some black metallic and have a fine line air cap coming tomorrow that I think I may try to use to accent the design of these mods with and really make them pop for dramatic color shift.

In between the color and the pearl I shot all of the grooves of the design with a clear coat + metallic. If you look real close at all the grooves you will see its extra sparkly :)

What about letting the customer tell you what color scheme they want of the options you can do? An extra selling point?

For as much as I would like to do that, the issue that I have been experiencing is someone says do it like X. I do it like X and then they decide, maybe not so much like X, how about Y. Now I have to go into a cycle of doing and redoing, which costs me time and money in both labor and materials.

Thats part of why I am just coating a bunch of stuff so people can say do it like that one and for now just do it like one would go fishing. Finish it, put it out there and wait for something to bite.

Yeah, I guess I wasn't accounting for human fickleness.

Another thought that occurred to me was to find somebody who has good digital photo manipulation skillz and have them put together a catalog of virtual prototypes and also have them on call to do some customs upon request.

That wouldn't be too hard for somebody who knew what they were doing and would give you the ability to tune up an order before actually doing any of the physical work or using any materials. You could pay your digital artist the difference you would charge the customer for that personalized custom order. A personalized custom for which you would require half upfront (or something) along with a contractual commitment wherein said customer understood that once ordered, a custom job is as good as sold. (or something)

I may have overlooked something again, but it seems to me there could be a lot of win in here for everybody if done right.

I am not that digital artist btw. I wasn't looking for a job. I'm not good enough with Photoshop or GIMP to be relied upon for something like that.

I didnt take it as such. Its actually a really good idea. Like those eyeglass things you load your picture in and digitally "try on glasses". I do actually have it on my list to follow up on.

Yep. Or a DIGITAL HOUSE PAINTING SIMULATOR

You're good with photography and have the equipment to get true digital samples of the actual finishes themselves which could then be imported into Photoshop or GIMP to be used to virtually finish the pieces. Of course you send that (or those) to the customer and assuming the competence of the process, they can see the piece accurately before it even exists.

It would take some thought about getting the sample shots of the finishes from the same distance as the shots of the mods etc. and with the curves and ornamentation and shadowing and all that, somebody would have to be pretty good, but once set up, only the custom orders or occasional additions would have to be completed more than once.

For customs, scripts could be saved and then rerun on the original stock shot, except with the new custom finishes.

Getting setup and the first ones done would be the hardest part, but definitely doable. As far as I know, nobody else is doing it either. :) Seems to me there's a market segment that would be drawn to that like a magnet.

Not only all THAT, but you could do personalized custom finishes for mods that people already own by showing them in advance what it would look like.

Unless it’s a flat colour somebody is after for the show and tell side of custom work varies a lot, it would be great to pick and choose yourself before getting something complex done though

...but the inherent risk of that is if someone is after something bespoke they’ll have a mental image of what they want and sometimes the artist cannot re-produce that expectation, I.e a splatter pattern or swirl marks in a particular arrangement.
in this instance it’s probably safer to do them up front and sell themselves unless said person can provide an example schema to works towards?

Really damn tempted JB!

Is it possible to take some pics for me with X1, Axial, TM24 on top so I can see which matches the tube the best.

I know the Armageddon Apocalypse Gen 2 looks good what about the 25 as well with the notched Knurling ...or will that overhang?

Are these three schemes possible?

Love the subtle change in this one but that deep colour pulls off the Rose really well

Or ...I think this will look absolutely stunning on the highlighted areas ...that paint job is gorgeous (this is my favourite of the three)...think the red on the car is a slightly different shade which I prefer

Last but not least a matte option (chameleon without the pink)

Candy Blue Chrome. This is a subtle but shiny color shift using large silver pearls and 4 different blues along with OG metallic Cloudist.Blue. At some angles you get black but this is all shiny blues and it shifts from a lighter metallic to a bright rich deep blue.

"Candy Denim" This is a full color shift from Antique white to three shades of teal pearls and hand distressed very carefully to accent the machining. This is the first mech mod my wife wants to keep for herself so it may end up not for sale. She said she will sleep on it.

These are probably going to sell out pretty quickly. I just put them on the site and they are starting to disappear. Once I announce them for sale on social media there is a fair chance they will be gone today.

CS-000
CS-001
CS-002
CS-008

These are already gone.

Man I love that aqua looking one with that glass cap

That one disappeared quickly. There are only 3 left. I think the candy denim and chrome blue are destined to become different colors. That purple/blue color shift will sell. I would love to see all of these gone this weekend. Have some other stuff in the oven right now (literally).
