I mowed my jungle last night. It has been raining more than usual.

Rain? More than usual? Here? ... *nodding emphatically* Nope, not t'all, no idea what anyone is saying when they say it's over average. To me it all sounds like everything is peachy.:) :p

I know a person ain't supposed to fuss if they ain't doing the work. But confound it, I about have a notion to talk with the boss of that mow crew. One of his youngin's come 'long and used a weed eater to trim shrubs. Now, I'm all in to being quick. But well, it didn't go over with the wife who wondered if I had fought off the manic from Texas Chainsaw Massacre. She was a feared even if she's hillbilly and used to hearing butta knives run, hearing one whine at you sleeping, can imagine the scared it put in her.

The shrub in question was right down below her bedroom window. Then to beat all, he did not move the chair back into its spot, he moved it without asking. Been fine had he put it back. No, he left it. Such slop and unprofessional carrying on, not seen the like.

Well piss! I'm sounding like her Pawpaw.

Rained all day on and off here again today.
No yard work.
Just house work.

Rained yesterday. Looks to be raining again today. I'm telling you, it's all these mid-westerners. They're having unabated fires, storms with cows, volcanoes, earthquakes. How can we not expect a backlash? I say we go whoop 'em up until they knock this shit off. Ugh, if I could make it to downstairs maybe.

So I'm on a ladder. Pruning these Nelly stevens. Stretched out to reach a high spot. All of a sudden. Zaaaaaappppppp. My sweat covered elbow must have hit the plug wire and zapped the shit out of me. 3 or 4 seconds. Tensed me up so therefore I was holding the throttle wide open. Took lunch right after that. Wowzers

Reminds me of Spinal Tap and how their drummers were all doomed and one of them died in what was described as a "bizarre gardening accident"

How many taped patches in your cords?

Gas trimmers. It scared the hell out of me for sure. I've been popped by a plug on a weedeater before but this one literally grabbed me and wouldn't let go. May have been different if I wasn't on a ladder. Couldn't really move from the ladder.

Here is my tale of woe

About half hour ago I twisted my ankle something fierce while trying to move LAWN chairs in the yard :(

That sucks, Lucy. Hope you heal up quickly.

Is it yard related if I went YARD sailing today? I didn't find much, but got a late start, he, however, got a free grinder with a light and a vice. Dude didn't want to hassle with moving it back in.

Everyone needs a good vice.

Handy for sharpening lawn mower blades :)

Got you one of those handy plumb cones you put on a nail to be sure the blade is squared out all plumb? Might also be called a balance checker. Papaw John always just said he plumbed the blade to make sure it spins right. He would even check balance on scythe blades. I cut his lower pasture all with a scythe one year, tetted it up, raked it, rolled it up in round bails for him. He laughed and shook his head. "Got the tractor and its tools for all that," he told me. I grinned.

"What happens if you don't," I asked back. Boy did that confound him. He got lit hot enough to bend 8 penny nails into barb wire fence and spit 'em out. Later on he told me he was sorry for getting so mad and I was right to ask. He remembered bailing up hay like I did as a boy.

Nope I balance blade on razor knife blade clamped in vise.
Sharpen then grind on the heavy end until balanced.

Thought you'd all find this amusing. A guy at my work thought it was a good idea to stick his hand under the mower deck while it was running. You can guess what happened.

I asked him if I could have a high 2 when he gets back to work.

Those auto stop/brake thing on walk behind mowers is the best safety feature ever for them.
Aggravating when they mess up but saved lots of fingers and toes.
