I'm all over the map... I grew up with my dad - a fine musician in his own right - listening to Waylon, Willie, Johnny et. al. In the back of his record collection, my mom had a couple Rod Stewart and Deep Purple LPs. My neighbor, at that time, was listening to Tom Petty. Meanwhile, I live in a town that bills itself as the "Folk Music Capital of the World". There are more fiddles and banjos and dulcimers and guitars and mandolins per capital than any other place on the planet, and acoustic folk/bluegrass concerts can be had from free to around $12 about any night in the summer.

Of course, none of that answers the question...

I listen to just about all of it.

I listen to different genres almost daily from alternative from the 2000s to rap to classical music. Not much into country music even though I was in a classic country band last year. It definitely wasn't my style to play but I enjoy playing so much that it didn't matter. The rap I listen too is all lyrical. Non of that mumble rap shit. I listen to pop when my wife and kids are around for clean music fun. But my wife is more of an old school rap lover. I listen to a lot of metal. Hardcore, Screamo. Anything with a lot of emotion. My favorite band is Pink Floyd and second runner up is August Burns Red. A Christian metal core band. Great messages behind the music and even better music. They're not a push religion down your throat but have great emotion in the lyrics and music. That's about the extent of my musical listenings

My tastes are all over the map as I listen to pretty much everything. I guess my preferences are classic rock and metal.

yeah he had immense talent..

I actually saw him live at the Lone Star Cafe and he was a surprise guest. Sitting at the bar 8 feet away was one of the most awesome shows I ever saw. Didn't realize he was standing next to me when he ordered a drink before going on stage. My buddy was hitting me saying Don't Look now but.............

August Burns Red? I thought I was the only one in the world familiar with them. What most people do not realise is christian music is avaliable in all genre's. I have always been a fan of punk. Flatfoot 56 is a christian punk band with a sound similar to Drop Kick Murphy's. Good stuff man.

My grandfather loved him (and the Texas Playboys). Got him a cassette one year for his birthday, he played it so much it squealed. I had to put at least one song on my iPod just for Pa-paw. He was a cool dude. Loved cheap beer and pepper cheese. <3

Possibly the greatest ALL AROUND guitarist of all time in my personal opinion. My girlfriend at the time (1988ish?) cried when he past away.
