have u been looked down upon for vaping? like real world or online, has it happen to you?

interestingly the east and west are quite different as in the east ppl here are curious about vaping. they might not know or approve of it but they wont talk down on it here in china. most i got in china was "vaping is not real enough for me, i get no feeling out of it".

but back in canada, i had ppl come talk down upon me before by saying stuff like "how on polluting the world and how stupid i look".

and then u have the internet period.

I dont get looked down on. But i am tatted up n a lota people say i look like i am on parole from prison. So i guess not many people talk shit to me.idk i don't c it cus im just me and any1 that knows me realizes im a big softie. Lol

I live in rural Kentucky, US of A.

I know of no other vapers near me, lot of smokers.
The smokers that give me shit over vaping I just look at and calmly ask them "Do you enjoy living?"
If they say yes, I tell them to switch to vaping, they will live longer.

If they take my comment of "do you enjoy living?" as a threat.
I tell them apparently they do not enjoy living because they are smoking instead of vaping.

So far it has not become violent :)

If they reply that they do not enjoy living, I tell them to keep on smoking.

The ones that asks nicely about vaping I just nicely explain my experience with it as an ex 30+ yr smoker and the test results by reputable sources like The Royal college of Physicians.

I'm actually shocked that you call yourself a Canadian with how you titled this thread. Are you are new to our country? Most Canadians (Not all obviously) are polite and have enough class to know what words are not socially acceptable in 2019.

Although not personally affected by any of your word choices, I am sure that anyone with a mentally challenged family member would be bothered by the term retarded. As for the gay part, well.......good luck with that in public here in Canada, you will get put in your place soon enough.

i grew up in Vancouver, im chinese and most of the chinese are rich. they have money and some even forgets that they are in Canada instead of China. i get looked upon when im back cuz they think im just some rich mainlander Chinese.

my choice of words might have offend u, i apologize. i been called a retard pretty much half my life growing up and back then my school actually attempt to transfer me to a mentally challenged school and program. my dad was super furious at the fact they assess me as mentally challenged.

Canadians are polite and nice, its just that i get bad luck and some how end up meeting some non polite ones.

There are a few FB groups I'm on that people are always busting on people who vape. Typical sucking on a robot dick comments. I rarely get into those discussions when they start. Unless someone makes a complete asinine comment or assumption. Real world I have never had an issue outside of a few uneducated and very unsolicited comments.

I don't know many people face2face. but at first I got some shit. about 30 seconds later they realized it was an argument they were going to loose, they backed off. now, I just get teased about "it", and many other things. I'm good with that, as I dish it out also.

Nobody has given me any shit about vaping yet. But I'm old and cranky and they prolly figure I'm a lost cause anyway. Besides, I wouldn't put up with anyone's shit; no how, no way. It's not in my nature and I guess I project that pretty well.

Ruppy, it seems like from this and some other posts you have made on this forum that you have a great interest in the social aspect of vaping. I don't get that part of the deal. It's not a social thing for me at all. My granddaughter's boyfriend is about my only vape companion. I seldom vape in public unless I'm in a social situation for a lengthy amount of time and I get a jones for some nicotine. Then I'll sneak off for a couple draws just like I used to sneak off for a cigarette. Some of my closest friends and family don't know I vape because I haven't done it around them. I vape because I smoked for over 45 years and even though I tried many, many times, I couldn't shake my nicotine addiction. By vaping, I cut out about 90% of the crap I was doing to myself by smoking. It's a health issue for me, pure and simple. I wish I didn't vape at all, but I am just grateful that I don't need to smoke. I think I would have died by now if I still smoked.

I do like fiddling with my vape gear and my modest collection. I bought a big Plano tackle box yesterday because I'm heading out of town next week and damned if I didn't fill it up. I might have to go out and get another one.

Quit worrying about how other people see you Ruppy. Take my word as an old guy that it absolutely does not matter.

Like you I am a grumpy old phart, and do not vape as a social thing but to STAY off of cigs.
The closest I come to vaping as a social thing is posting and interacting with others on here.

I could care less about the social end of it or if it is excepted. I vape because i am plain n simply addicted to nicotine. Have been for almost 30 years. Vaping is how i can get the most nic the fastest. Period.
But i live the gear n the building all my own. Only realy talk vape in here cus every1 i know that vapes runs comercial crap n i have no interest in that.

sorry for the late reply, the protest in hong kong pretty much got my attention after i made this post lol

i live in a the other side of world, in country where 11 out of 10 ppl are smokers. ppl here go through cigs like kid going through a some a bag of m&ms.

most ppl arent vaping to quit smoking and some ppl even gave up vaping. im hoping to get ppl more in to vaping (keep it alive as im afraid it will died), which is why i prefer to blow big cloulds and have ppl come ask me questions.

also love to meet ppl and talk about vape and exchange juice to try. its fun, every week me and bud would get together for dance practice. we would vape, exchange juice and practice.

then at least once a month i have get together with groups of vapers to do the same some where (except the dancing part). its either a vape shop or some place like quiet bar, some place to eat, coffee shop. we talk about stuff like juice, coil/wicks, cotton and since i do tricks we practice/talk about techniques and a bunch of other non vape related stuff.

it used to be a great way for new ppl learn and ask on hand since its confusing for some to learn online. but groups kinda died down now cuz everyone pods now, which is still cool but just hard to hang as a group now.

when was the last time u just hanged out at your local vape shop for the whole entire afternoon? used to be a thing for some of us here as its not always business here and great way to meet ppl and hang. (plus with mobile gaming, its much easier to hang lol)

I never hung out at a Vape Shop but I have been in places where smoking was prohibited but Vaping was allowed at the time and had many a good conversation with other vapers. Never stop Advocating for vaping because if you do it will go away. Good Luck my friend~!
