Anyone have experience with Aspire BVC coils?

Hey guys,

I recently picked up an Artery Pal II for quick hits of salt nic at work. The 1.2ohm Artery coil did its job so I was planning on picking up a pack of them.

However, Aspire's BVC coils should also work in the device. I've heard they are quality coils, but would like to hear from some people who have more experience with them before I consider getting them instead. I can choose from the 1.2, 1.6, 1.8, and 2.1ohm BVC coils (all slightly cheaper than the Artery coils). I realize that each coil will hit different since the Pal runs on direct voltage, and that each will require slightly differnt AF adjustment. I'm more concerned about one particular style having a reputation for dud-coils, that kinda thing.

Would love to hear y'alls opinions on them!

Edit: I've found a few old threads on them. But none of them have mentioned the 1.2ohm BVC coils, as they are older threads and I believe the 1.2s are the newest version.

I used them in my old Pal2. The 1.2 work well. Never had any issues with them. Also for the breeze2 I use them.

I used Aspire BVC Coils for years in the Nautilus Mini but my favorite was the 1.6Ω coils. Never used the ones you are talking about but I got weeks of all day vaping at 10 Watts or less with the 1.6Ω coils. Good Luck

Upon further investigation it appears the 1.2ohm BVC heads are marketed as 'nic salt' coils, whatever that means lol

I'm kinda leaning towards the 1.6 or 1.8 ohm coils (prob 1.6 since Steve has had success with them), mainly because the 1.2s were bit strong when paired with nic salts.

I appreciate y'alls input, much obliged!

I thought the PAL II used the small BVC coils, not the Nautilus heads but perhaps I'm mistaken about that ... don't have one personally but I liked the form factor of the device.

Oops, I wrote 'Nautilus' in my last post instead of 'Aspire'. You're absolutely right, they are the smaller BVC heads and not the larger Nautilus ones.

Aspire coils are great and they seem to do a better job at QC than some others. I used them extensively for some time and still have a whole bunch fo them so they get used periodically.

I felt I should post an update, just in case anyone searches for info on BVC coils in the future..

I've tried a pack of Aspire BVC (Spryte) coils in my Pal2. They were the 1.2ohm 'salt nic' coils. I was underwhelmed compared to the standard 1.2 ohm MTL coils from Artery. The Aspire coils didn't seem to produce as much flavor when compared to the Artery. Also within a day of installing a new Aspire coil, it begins to turn my juice brown while it's still in the pod. The first Aspire coil I tried also flooded constantly, which I'd normally prefer to not wicking fast enough except I'm using salt nic (which is horrible when it gets in your mouth). The Artery coils also seemed like they lasted longer too.

The Artery coils use A1 wire and a mix of wood pulp and cotton for wicking. Aspire uses nichrome wire and cotton for wicking. I'm guessing the difference in flavor has something to do with those differences.

As far as the juice turning brown, maybe the nichrome wire in the Aspire coils are running hotter and reacting with the high nic levels in my juice (40mg sat nic)? But there was something else alarming to me, the Aspire coils also appeared to be oxidizing/reacting to my salt nic juice. It's hard to describe, just a light layer on the casing of the coil itself that can be rubbed off, but not something I've seen in the years I've vaped (but I am new to salt nic/super high nic juices).

So, my suggestion to anyone looking for BVC coils: get the Artery BVC coils, even if you're using an Aspire device. They're 0.6 mesh coils are superb (at least the single one I used was great). The Artery 1.2ohms gave me a satisfying MTL with decent flavor. And Artery just released revised 'High Performance' (HP) versions of their BVC coils which are supposed to be even better (1.0ohm MTL coils w/tighter draw & a new 0.6ohm mesh coil). So I'm looking forward to trying those too.

And thanks again for all the input in this thread guys!
