New coil reading at .2 instead of .15 ohms like it should.

Figured I should lower the wattage to vape it to get the sweet spot I had found with these coils. Recommended wattage is 80. I reduced to 70 watts and voltage reading was near the same as with the previous coil. My question is do i really need to do the math or is it "ok" to do it like i did?

update: I looked at the ohm reading a little later and it was at .14 ohms and it has been staying there. I switched tanks on this mod while i was priming the new coil and I noticed the .2 reading when i put the tank and new coil back on. When I first noticed the .2 ohm reading I switched off the mod because I thought I must have screwed the tank on with the power on. When I powered it back on it still read .2 ohms. So I assumed the coil was just a little off. Now I am really confused that the ohm reading somehow got correct. I have been using regulated mods for some time now and this is the first time I have ever seen this. I chain vape sometimes and frequently look at the coil resistance, and have never had a coil misread or even fluctuate. I have been using the same e-liquid for a couple of years also. Could the mod have just "took it's time" to get it right? It is a Smoant Cylon and have had no trouble with it since i have had it. Weird!

I realize now, I must have caused a glitch when I changed tanks without turning off the power. The mod traveled back in time 2 minutes as well!

They will read high when they are hot. If you’re on a regulated mod let it cool to room temp unscrew and re/screw and it should give you a better reading. I’ve found that to be the case with most of my RDA coils.

Sounds like a ss coil? Stainless Steel, nickel, and titanium will all start at or around the given resistance. The resistance will raise as the coil heats.

You don't have to switch off your mod when changing a tank, ohms will just be off sometimes, vape on.

I use Geekvape Super Mesh coils in 3 different tanks and 3 different mods. They are supposed to be .2 ohm, but always read .15-.16 on all 3 tanks and mods. It's not that big of a deal.
