No other FA flavor is similar to Black Fire. I wouldn't be surprised if other brands have something like it, though.
Ok well it will just have to be another flavour added to the neverending list. No other branded baccy flavours in the vault. Just when I got the wanted purchase list down to one remaining flavour too

Yea
Just one flavoring on your purchase wish list! I'm not sure I'll ever get there - which is a ridiculous statement, considering how many I've accumulated.

Haaa yea I've been on a splurge lately. The bank accounts feeling it though so the list is bound to swell back up

Inw DNB could be used instead of black fire different taste but similar effect ie black fire being smoke and Dnb ash or use both. Dnb needs a steep tho.
Btw just revisited a 3 month old bottle of original recipe and tastes great! Kinda sweetend up which surprised me!

Mixed this for a family member looking for a Camel cigalike. Added 0.3 % FA Desert Ship as @HeadInClouds suggested somewhere in the thread. Tasted it after some shaking and immediately had to mix another bottle for myself at my nic preference. A great vape and as close to a Camel Light (without the ashtray) as I remember it from more than 3 years ago - immediately into my rotation. Thank you for the recipe.

Glad I'm not necro'ing this.

My wife is VERY picky about juice and only vapes tobacco and only very specific tobaccos. She likes V2's (cigalike company) Congress, MaddCatt's MaddHatter Tobacco, and AquaVape's "Regular". That's it. That's all she'll use so far. She says "flavors" all give her a headache. Yes, I know, I've tried to explaing that "tobacco" is just another flavor and has almost nothing to do with tobacco.

Anyway, how close to a Marlboro Lights type recipe is this recipe? And does anyone know who in the US has stock on all of the flavors in the recipe if so? I tried Bull City, but they're out of Black Fire.

Hi all, as a person who prefers a tobacco flavoured vape, I have found this to be very good for a tobacco made from concentrates (I usually steep my own NETs). Following is how I prefer HIC's recipe for a Marlboro type flavour:

Marlboro
FA Cuban Supreme 2.50%
FA Burley 0.75%
FA Black Fire 0.50%
FA Oakwood 0.50%

For a Camel type flavour:

Camel
FA Tuscan Reserve 2.00%
FA Burley 0.50%
FA Black Fire 0.50%
FA Oakwood 0.50%
FA Desert Ship Blend 0.25%

I find both have a more mature flavour with some ageing, the Marlboro one I am using today was mixed on 30th July '16, pretty bloody good :) Thank you HIC for your generosity in posting this.

* Note though that I haven't actually smoked Marlboros or Camels for about 20 years and am going on memory and my taste buds

Thanks for all your great recipes, HIC!
(this is probably my only post because typing in english is hard work, but I needed to say that :)

This 'cigarette replacement' is one of my favourites. I butchered it a little to suit my stock. Cold extracted Burley instead of FA's. And Perique Black instead of Black Fire. One day I will learn that changing your recipes rarely makes them better :)

Thanks again!

Could I use that to make a Menthol Cig Juice? If yes what would you add? I got TFA
For personal non-commercial use only.
Please do not repost this outside of vapingunderground.com.

This recipe doesn't mimic any particular brand of cigarette. It's mild, plain cig flavor that satisfies me when I'm craving a cigarette:

HIC's Light American Cig Replacement

2-2.5% FlavourArt Cuban Supreme tobacco
0.5% FlavourArt Black Fire
0.25-0.5% FlavourArt Burley tobacco
0.25-0.5% FlavourArt Oakwood

(lowest percents listed for 'ultra-light' cig flavor; highest percents for 'light' cig flavor)

I smoked "light" American cigarettes, none of those expensive brands or fancy imports. I can't stand cigar or pipe flavor/aroma, so I'm a tobacco wimp in the vaping world. If strong tobacco vapes give you nightmares, we have similar tastes. If FA's 7 Leaves or MaxxBlend are too sweet for you or not enough like your old light cigarette, give this recipe a shot.

This is a neutral, smooth, light-brown tasting tobacco vape (from the Cuban Supreme) with a tiny background hint of familiar-tasting darker tobacco (from the Burley) and a light touch of realistic tobacco smoke on the exhale (from the Black Fire). Oakwood at this percent does not add flavor, just dries and de-sweetens the subtle vanilla from Cuban Supreme.

It's mild tobacco flavor with enough interest and complexity to enjoy for long vaping sessions. There's no caramel, spice, anise, cocoa, honey, or weird notes of food flavors, nothing 'obnoxious' in the flavor or the vapor trail. The subtle dry-woody-vanilla bit in the exhale can further masked with extra Black Fire, if you wish. I like it there - it's similar enough to a cig to crush my cravings, but the hint of dry vanilla in the exhale is more pleasant to me than the black-ashiness of real cigs.

When you have a cig craving, there's no time to waste, so this recipe was designed to shake and vape. No steeping rituals are needed - it's smooth and mild immediately after mixing.

note, Oct 2015: I used to list Black Fire here at 0.5 - 1%. I think most people will prefer just 0.5%, even if increasing the other flavorings.

Could I use that to make a Menthol Cig Juice? If yes what would you add? I got TFA Menthol, Koolada and FA Peppermint :)

Thanks

TFA menthol is what I use to make a menthol cig. Usually maybe 10 drops to my usual 25ml cigarette recipes. I also add Inawera Eucalyptus W/Mint sometimes to change things up. :)

If I wanted it like a menthol cig, I'd pick TFA Menthol, probably 0.5% or 1%.

@DIYjim - I'm also a fan of Inawera Eucalyptus-Mint. I like it standalone when I have a head cold!

I don't suppose there is any viable alternative to the Oakwood? It isn't listed on the FlavourArt UK site, and I am unable to source it in any of the concentrate suppliers I have tried. Would the FlavourArt Virginia work. I haven't purchased any of the FlavorArt tobacco flavours, so I really have no idea.
Thanks

Oakwood is here just to give a dry effect & take out a little of the sweetness, so NO - Virginia can't sub for it. Better to just leave out Oakwood & use the higher listed amount of Cuban Supreme and/or Burley.

(TFA has a Red Oak, but it would add sweetness here. Thought I'd mention that, since the similar name can lead people to assume they're more alike than they really are.)

Ah, thanks for the heads up on the TFA Red Oak. I'll dial up the Cuban Supreme and the Burley to fill the hole left by the Oakwood.
Thanks for getting back to me on this.

You're so awesome for helping your dad quit! Please let me know if it does the trick or if I can help in any way. Quitting cigs was impossible for me before vaping - I hope he finds it's the solution for him, too.

Thank you, my dad is also one of my best friends. Will do, and I appreciate your help. He's having some major health failures and its frightening me, but now he is finally considering vaping. I have a kit on the way for him and some liquids from vape wild. But I know from experience that your mixes are wonderful, I shake them up and vape them all the time. So when he runs out I'll have this one to mix up for him. I've tried mixing but my own batches are iffy, having recipes to refer to is so helpful.

When I quit I had to have tobacco flavors and minty liquids in the beginning. He's not a minty or menthol fan, and so when I saw this I had to check it out. He smokes lights.

He loves this, I wanted to let you know, and say thanks again. Mixed up a 10 ml batch @ 18mg nic. He tried it and said "Wow, that's awesome! Tastes like a cigarette!" He loves the light earthy tobacco note. I tried it too and now I have to make some @ 3mg for my subtank. :D

One question please. I have some fa vanilla bourbon in my stash too. Would that be suitable to add for a vanilla kick? :)

I'm glad it suits him!

Sure you could add Vanilla Bourbon. It'll tend to emphasize the vanilla already in Cuban Supreme, so it might take less than you'd predict. 1% is probably plenty for a very-vanilla flavor.

I finally got around to making this (mixed per the OP recipe) my wife said it has a "green leaf" taste to it that isn't appealing to her.I can taste what I think she's talking about, but it's not bothersome for me. I tried altering the recipe by upping the Burley just a bit, but she said it didn't make much difference. I wonder where that taste is coming from? Do you all think it would be better for me to increase the Cuban Supreme? I've been mixing for over a year, but have very limited experience doing tobacco vapes, so any suggestions appreciated.

Maybe this is the mix ratio (Marlboro) I will try next unless I get a better suggestion. I was really hoping this was going to be the one to get my wife back into vaping, and off the cigs for good.

Mark, are you ageing the mix before using it? I prefer 2 to 3 weeks ageing, allows the flavours to meld together correctly (IMO).

No, I didn't steep as HIC said it was a shake and vape. Gonna let what I have sit for a week and go back to it.

Thank you for this reciepe HIC, it was smooth and nice.

I did a little tweeking with it and made this: (a GT_1955 variant, as I did not have FA Desert Ship Blend)

HIC/GT_1955 Camel variant
FA Tuscan Reserve 2.00%
FA Burley 0.50%
FA Black Fire 0.25%
FA Oakwood 0.25%
INW S'Camel 1.5%

For the first time I actually liked a e-juice made from/with the INW S'Camel (wich is one of the few INW's I for some reason don't get along with well).
Next time I'll add some INW DNB (0,5 - 1 %) to give it a tad more ashy character.

To be fair, this is a variant of HIC's recipe not mine :D

The FA Cuban Supreme has a very prominent green leaf cigar flavor for me.

Hello

I didn't mix this recipe so far. Have to buy flavors anyway. Most of the time I vape bakery or fruits. Sometimes I would like to try some tobacco flavors. Most of the commercials tobacco juices I don't like. Many of them have some kind of a Coffee note, which I hate. I smoked Marlboro Red. Never liked light. Do you think this recipe is ok for me? Or could I tweak it to get a Red Marlboro?

Thank you.

Good recipe, but may not be right for you. I suggest you place Marlboro in the search box found at the top of this page for other ideas. You might find something that may suit you.

I myself am not happy unless I find some ( a lot of :)) NET in a tobacco recipe.

I intend on trying this mix for my mom. She loves Reds, but I'm noticing that people are saying that Cuban Supreme has a green leaf note. Is there a way to counteract this? I'm not sure she'll like that aspect. Also, this is a light cig recipe. What could I do to make this a 100 or full flavor as I think this will be more appealing to her.

I dont know about anyone else but Hangsen's Desert Ship is a great generic "cigarette" flavor.

FA Max Blend is supposed to be a Marlboro flavor, but it doesn't really taste like one to me.
If you're using this recipe, Burley is brown tobacco flavor. The higher percents listed here plus an extra 0.25% Burley might do what you want - I think better than Max Blend.
Canadian cigs use a lot of Virginia tobaccos; American cigs use more Burley. If you want a more Canadian flavor, you could add 0.25% of FA Virginia. BUT in my opinion, that flavor really needs some steep time, even such a tiny bit of it. I avoided it here because I wanted something shake-and-vapeable.

I just wanted to thank you HIC, I know it's a really old post, but a great recipe. I'm amazed by the resemblance to a real cigarette. By the way, I replaced FA Oakwood with TPA Red Oak, I don't know how it taste with Oakwood, but with Red Oak tastes good and close enough to a cigarette flavor. Only I don't perceive that "subtle dry-woody-vanilla bit" in the exhale :(, possibly because of the replacement.
