DotMod Petri lite

Anybody have any experience with this rig? It’s my first mechanical mod. Vape shop didn’t have many RDAs that matched so I went with a Vandy Vape Phobia V2. Not the best RDA I’ve seen but the smoke production is smooth and clean; a little wispy but not bad. Anywho tossed a Samsung 20s 18650 in it with a single CoilTurd 24G Fused Clapton ringing out at .24. I have to say. For under 200$ I’m pretty pleased with it. The throw is pretty cheap I guess what you would expect with a 90$$ mech. Just wondering if anybody else has toyed around with DotMod and if they are a reputable company. Kinda went on a whim with what the shop had. Sure they had purges at 300++++ :) didn’t feel like dipping my toes in at 500$

Also side note. I’ve ran a few sets of different coil turd pre builds. If you’re not into building coils yet or don’t have the patience or time DEFINITELY check them out. Very high quality.

Never had a dotmod tube but if they're built like the numerous box mods I've had then you're in for a long vaping experience. Great pick up

Oh yea I’ve already spoke with him about some nice stainless coils I’m looking at for my TC mod. I had already ordered a handful of coils from them before I was even a member here and knew better. But I have to admit. They came in the mail in 2 days!!! With a personal note and a sticker and they are very well made. I don’t make coils yet and not sure if I ever will. A lot of people may find it silly to spend that much on coils. I don’t disagree. But if you take care of them and they last a few months 9-17$ isn’t too bad. Anywho. Yea I’ll definitely be hitting up @VAPEROXX for my next few sets :)

Yeah, those were pricey...and I'm sorry, but coilturd is a worse name than voopoo.

Ive been wanting to try some high quality, hand crafted coils, just don't have the money to spend, and I don't use PayPal. I have a handful of coilology machine made coils, nothing mind blowing, but they work.

You get what you pay for man. No disrespect. Also basing a product by its name is not usually the best method of review. Also. I went through coil after coil when I first started. I had no idea how to treat them, no idea how to burn them. No idea how to clean them. I started on a VV/VW and an RDA. Had no clue how to place them or anything. I winged it time after time wick after wick until I figured out how to really get what I want out of them. All that being said. If your just tinkering then just go cheap and try what works for you. But if you really need to dial in your resistance and have a particular coil method you prefer that gives you what YOU want out of a coil. With the proper cleaning and maintenance. 17$ for months of vaping beats spending 5-8$ a coil every other week with a smok prince or falcon tank or any other prebuilt Hands down.

Just my opinion. All what YOU want from your vaping experience

My good friend @jwill got 8 months out of a set of my Alien coils, and he vapes folks! I tagged him, so if anyone wants to throw the bullshit card on the table, I know he won't hesitate to pick it up lol!

Never said i was basing or reviewing anything, just stating that anything with TURD in its name, is a horrible name. The product could be great, but their name isn't. I referenced it to voopoo, and i own a few voopoo products.
POO and TURD.... I'm seeing some correlation here....

i have 4, your pic shows it's an alum one, you need to keep those threads clean, i use alcohol 91% on mine when i feel like using them, good for .15 ohms and above

Also have a copper one with gold plated copper contacts upgrades (switch and caps) and can handle 0.1 and above easily based on batteries

I loved dotmod, every device until their 20700 mech squonk is legit on my eyes, their RDA after the 24mm single post.... that's another story

For your setup, the best set of coils (IMHO) would be 3x28/38 N80 tri-core aliens, 3.0mm inside diameter, 5/6 wraps. The pair should ohm out somewhere around 0.22Ω.

Interesting. I actually have an exact set of those 5 wraps That are suppose to ohm out at .16 after this bottle of juice I’ll throw them in the goon and give em a run.

I was actually quoting that resistance from memory for kanthal cores, not N80. Sorry about that. But yes, the 0.16Ω should still be fine with the battery you're using.
