Alright guys and gals. I’ve been noticing lately on forums and also online Vlogers/reviewers that people have been practicing questionable battery safety. Now I’m new to all this but it doesn’t take a mathematician to see something here is wonky. Maybe I’m wrong and I would love for some people to chime in and educate me. I’ll give an example.. I was watching a well known reviewer get into the nitty gritty about “X” Rda. Throwing it on a sick little 21700 single tube mod “Y” coils ringing out at .09-.1 ********* Pause*********
There’s where things to me get wonky.
I’ve read a lot of reviews from Mooch on his recommended battery’s and even the bench tests on them. So even the Molicel P42A supposedly rated at 45A was bench tested around 30/40. IMO even the best 21700 battery’s I wouldn’t think should be pushed passed 35A
So even at a partial charge putting out 3.9V a .09 build is going to be 43A
This is using steam-engine ohms law calculator.
Practicing good battery safety in a mech mod is to not push your cell past the max continuous rated Amperage.?? Am I right??
Why do I see people pushing single battery tubes way past limits and not going into thermal runaway.
Just something I’ve been thinking about and mulling over.. boring Saturday here in Utah and thought ide get some people’s wheels turning.
Any info and insight would be great!!
