So it is! And will be, for some hours more. :)

Thanks, all y'all! My husband told me tonight that soon I'll be able to join his club... the old farts' club. :giggle:

On a side note... Bernie Taupin, Elton John's lyricist, turned 68 today -- he's EXACTLY 10 yrs older than I am, to the day. :) It definitely seemed like a much bigger difference when I was 14 and had EJ plastered all over my bedroom walls, and very little else on my record player. :teehee:

Andria

Sorry I missed your birthday- I hope you had a Happy one!
Happy Belated Birthday Andria!

Well, the only thing vape-related I did today was vape, so I gave the vape-related-today thread a miss. However I did celebrate 58 yrs of being on planet Earth today (which at this point was technically yesterday, but y'know... night owl. ;)), with a haircut and a great Subway sandwich for dinner... so I thought I'd come here and see if y'all know of any good sales on any lower-wattage (100w or less) mods right now. My aunt gave me $100, and I could use a new mod, haven't bought anything new since I scored that Aegis here at the forum a while back. No squonks, still haven't fallen down that rabbit hole, and I've never really cared for mechs.

My husband gave me some lovely lab-created emerald earrings -- we're not rich enough for the mined-from-the-Earth kind, but they ARE 10k gold, and real purty, also my birthstone. :) I've been going NUTS on earrings lately since while I had the flu and was bored out of my gourd, I played around with some old studs and finally managed to get them thru the ear holes that I thought had grown closed -- they haven't, it just took being bored and having nothing else to do and much patience, to get them open again. And a little pain and a *smidge* of bleeding, but you know... what we do for beauty. :D I now have pierced ears again and am DELIGHTED about it. :)

Andria

The earrings sound beautiful- enjoy!
I can only wear gold rings and earrings.
I wear the small white gold huggie hoops- they click in and I don't need to take them out ever. They are very comfortable to wear, nothing to get snagged and no uncomfortable post jabbing me in the head. I buy those type for my granddaughters too.
I get them from the Piercing Pagoda at the mall.
On your quest for a nice single battery mod- maybe the Asmodus Colossal ? I don't own that one but many do and love that mod. Vapor Range had those on a great sale and free shipping too.
Asmodus maybe having a Memorial Day sale- they have been taking 30% off and free shipping too.
I mainly keep with the dual battery mods and love my Asmodus Minikin V2s, very small for a dual battery mod.
My Asvape Gabriel is a single battery mod, battery life is not so good for me- but such a pretty mod. It is the tattoo looking one I have.

These are similar to what my huggie hoops look like- mine are much thinner. There is a little hinge that opens on the bottom to make these hoops easy to put in- then the post snaps in and they stay in and are very comfortable. These are very small and don't hang down-

Those are nice, especially the sparkly ones in the 2nd pic. :D I love the sparkly! I have some with very similar fasteners, which my mom gave me MANY (35-ish?) years ago -- so it's obvious they're real gold, or they would now be black!

earrings2.jpg

These are the ones I've gone nuts on -- each card of 5 sets is $16, but if you buy 2, you get 50% off the 2nd card (Kohls!)

earrings1.jpg

I wear my hair pulled back pretty much 24/7; even if I "fix up," I still pull the front part back in a barrette -- hair in my face is one of my BIGGEST pet peeves! Maybe an artifact from all the years of smoking, not wanting to burn my hair, but the hatred of hair in my face is solid, at this point. So the small post earrings are my faves!

Unfortunately, those cute little post earrings have the most infuriating fasteners, so I had to buy a boxful of "bullet" shaped fasteners from Amazon:

earring-posts.jpg

The ones on the right are the infuriating ones -- they're IMPOSSIBLE to pick up and hold with your fingertips, so good luck trying to get them on the back of earring which you can't see! So I got that boxful of bullet-shaped fasteners; as long as I use those, then none of the earrings bother me when I'm sleeping -- even the "emerald" ones, which I put in last night and didn't take off when I went to bed -- they're roughly 50% larger than any of those single-"stone" posts, but didn't bother me at all -- those bullet fasteners are the BEST!

I love that Asvape Gabriel... but it's a little pricey for me; even at AliExpress it's a smidge over $50, and from them, I'd have to wait some ungodly time for it to get here; element vape has it, but they want one nickel shy of $72 for it, and that's WAY out of my budget.

The Asmodus Colossal looks good though, at $32.95. Can't decide on a color; I'd love another pink mod, since the only pink one I have now is the CF4 with my name on it, I sold the pink iStick a couple years ago, and that Colossal looks like the identical color as the iStick. But, I really need another blue mod, since my only blue one is the wrapped iPV Mini, which has the stripped battery cap, so can't be used... and I'd also love another black mod, so I could get another of those abalone wraps for it; with the various indents on the Colossal, it looks like it would be a real pain to wrap, so I could just leave it black and wrap my black minibook; I think Pami has some wrapped minibooks, so it shouldn't be too hard to wrap one of those.

Ah, decisions. :D

Do you have any single-2x700 mods yet? Kind of the best of both worlds, between single- and double-18650s, without quite so much weight.

...although...I think all the single 2x700 mods I have are squonkers. I've really stopped looking at single-18650 mods except for the occasional mech squonk box. I know you aren't interested in those.

Hang on, I do have one that isn't a squonker. It's an Aspire Puxos. I wouldn't buy another one.

Looking at Google, I see there are two Pico models that use a single 21700. The VV Jackaroo uses one. And of course the iJoy Capo.

If you aren't into the Jackaroo, then there probably isn't anything in that list that interests you. I believe I recall you said you didn't like the Pico. These 21700 Picos are bigger than the original, but it's still a style thing. I'm really not even sure I'd want another one, frankly. I have a Squeeze 2 that uses a 21700 battery, and that thing is a honking huge, heavy, awkward POS. I haven't found anything YET that I like about it.

Asmodus Colossal might be a really good choice. I've seen some places they have a LOT of colors to choose from. VaporRange this morning only had blue, green, white, and grey (or silver, I forget which). That was in a combo with a C4 atomizer, which I doubt you'd want (although it is a fabulous RDA).

Not vaping related, but health related: one other thing to take note of with non-sugar sweeteners, and the only reason I discovered this is because I started doing the keto diet: pre-measured sweetener packets like Splenda, Stevia in the Raw, etc, most of the material in that packet is Malto-dextrin, a zero-calorie powder base made from dextrose. It's a carbohydrate. It will still trigger an insulin response in your body. Better to get liquid stevia/sucralose/erythritol drops (or pure powder and make your own).

I got my Asvape Gabriel from Vape NW they were having a 10% off sale so my Gabriel was under $50.00, it was a while ago, maybe December- looks like they are sold out now.
Love the texture and design of that one, battery life not so great.
I don't think you could go wrong with any color of the Colossal- they are all nice, but I love the pink. I want to get the Minikin V2 in that pink, I chose the white at the time , but wished I went with the pink. Blue is very nice too as well as the black. Asmodus makes some great mods.
Vapor Range is a great vendor with fast free shipping.
I have only wrapped my Neboxes- so not sure how hard a Colossal would be to wrap.

I have one of the original Picos, won it here in some contest back in 2017, but I've RARELY used it, for a couple of reasons: 1) it's just too damn small for my hands, and 2) that top batt-cap is infuriating, you can't get your fingers on it enough to open it if the atty is attached, and that's a huge pain in the ass, since I use the same atty all the time -- I very often have to change the battery while the atty is attached, and though I do have to loosen the atty a bit with the Minibooks, to get the battery in without nicking the wrap, I don't have to completely remove it. Those newer Picos look to have exactly the same two problems. The Colossals look to be just about the size I like best -- fairly tall, but not terribly fat -- much like the Minibooks and CF4s.

I don't have any 2x700 batteries or mods. The only variation in batteries I have are the 2 Aegis mods, and I did get a couple 28650s for those, and I'm pretty happy with both those mods, and the 28650 batteries, since they last about the same nearly-3-full-days as my 30Q's. If I was going to splurge on a 2-batt mod, I daresay I'd probably get the Aegis Legend; my son has one, and he's been very happy with it... and it's apparently just as klutz-proof as the original Aegis. :D But with my extremely low-watt vaping, I just don't really need a 2 batt mod. My hope is that with the newer sizes of batteries, and the 2-batt mods, there are maybe lower prices now on some of the better single-18650 mods.

@nadalama, what do you dislike about the Puxos? That's within my price range and in-stock at MVS, one of my preferred vendors, and I really like the looks of both the P2 and P3... but I've never had an Aspire mod, so I know very little about 'em -- is there a problem with the Puxos? Apparently it does come with an adapter for an 18650. I like the size/shape of it, along with the looks of the P2 and P3.

You're right, I really don't want any of the "starter kit" things, that come with attys; I can't use any of the newfangled attys, and my son is stuck fast to the mesh one that came with his Aegis Legend, so he probably wouldn't want it either. I need to get him another of those mesh attys; he broke the "bubble" glass tank on one of his, so he started using the one I gave him for xmas... so heaven help us if he manages to break THAT one. :D

For me it was more like 20 years since the last time I wore earrings -- I doubt you'd have a problem at all, after just 6 months. :D I tried to get some in that my mom gave me a couple years ago, some dangly xmas-y looking ones, but they had the kind of wires that just hang in the holes, and I simply could NOT get them in, so I thought the holes had grown closed. It's possible the left one was *nearly* closed, because I had the most trouble with it, a little pain and a bit of blood, so I wore the same studs for a few days and did the alcohol-dabbing that I did when I first got 'em pierced, and then when I did finally change the earrings, I also put a dab of neosporin on the front of the earlobe so the post would take it into the ear hole; it seems to be healed up now, but I still keep a pair of studs in, just so I can make sure and keep the holes open.

Which is precisely why DIYers don't use that stuff, but use the various sweeteners available from the different flavor vendors -- they're pure sweetener in a PG base.

I was in the market for a new bra or two, and just couldn't find anything I liked at Walmart, so I checked Kohls, and found a fantastic Maidenform that I love so much, I went back and bought another, though the damn things cost $44/each -- I really prefer Walmart's prices, but you need to have either tiny tits or humongous ones, to find anything suitable at an inexpensive price -- those of us with normal mid-sized mammaries are just SOL at Walmart! :teehee:

But Walmart is my favorite for most other clothing -- I'm seriously a cheapskate, and their prices are the kind I like. :D

LOL- I am a cheapskate too- I head right to the clearance racks at Kohls- underwear, bras, jeans and shirts, plus I have their coupon app, when they have coupons on my phone and go when having great sales, plus since I turned 60 in January they take another 10% off on Wednesdays.
I do buy clothes at Walmart, TJ Maxx and Marshals too. When I worked in an office, most of my clothes came from Macy's, love Macy's too and there can be great sales there too. When I quit working full time, I worked part time at Macy's Womens and Juniors early morning ad set and put out all the clothes and displays. I did that for 2 years.

that top batt-cap is infuriating, you can't get your fingers on it enough to open it if the atty is attached,
For whatever it's worth, on the Pico S you don't turn the top of the tube to get to the battery. You turn the body of the tube which is exposed all the way down.
Eleaf-iStick-Pico-S-21700-100W-TC-Box-MOD_0045894379e0.jpg

It is kinda small though. Not tiny, but pretty small. Probably not what you're after. :)

The Puxos is so plastic-y, I just don't like the way it feels in my hands, feels like there's just nothing to it. I really doubt it would hold up for you. I haven't had great luck with Aspire mods. Tanks, yes. Mods, no.

MVS has the Aegis Solo for a good price. If I was going to buy a single 18650 mod, that's probably what I'd get. Or the Wismec Sinuous P80, I love the bronze color in that mod.

If I may be so rude as to jump back in here momentarily. The first thing that struck me when I took the Pico S outta the box, was how solid it was. Granted, the battery tube probably wouldn't survive a war, but it's plenty good enough and the structural body of the mod, is I think polished aluminum. it is not plated or painted.

Ok, I'm out.

Ooooh I like that Aegis Solo! D'ya know, is the "black" one the one that has the red stitching down the "pleather" panel? That's kinda cool; I could leave that one as-is, and get a wrap for my black minibook. Or, I might go for the blue one, that looks really sharp! And since my blue iPV Mini isn't usable anymore, I do need another blue one.

I like that the Solo both takes the external battery, AND has a charge port -- that's really the only down-side of the original Aegis, no charge port; the USB port it has, is for data updates, but I don't think there IS a data update for the original Aegis. That's one of the things I LOVE about my Minibooks -- every once in a while I have one of those brain farts and forget to put a fresh battery in, and get someplace off away from home and realize my battery is nearly dead -- with the Minibook, no biggie; just plug it in, in the truck, and I can keep vaping. :)

I'm thinking that Solo might be the winner. I'm not really "hard" on my mods; the 3 mods my son has all look beat to shit and none of the 3 are even 2 yrs old yet, and I've got mods that I've had since 2015 that look nearly brand new (the pink CF4 with my name on it comes to mind -- the red one, not so much; the clear coat on it is bubbling)... but I do tend to drop them on a regular basis, so you may be right about that Puxos not holding up. I lost my very first white Minibook, dropping it in a parking lot!

The Solo pics I see at other sites show the black does have red stitching.

We went to Walmart earlier tonight; I really need some new summer tops, but couldn't find a single thing I liked, in my size. I DID find some fantastic jeans-leggings, in a size 12/14, that ACTUALLY FIT! Except of course, they're a bit too short; my husband (who's extremely short!) went thru his closet and found a pair of jeans that are too long for him, he'd intended to cut about 2" off the length but hadn't gotten around to it yet (YAY!), so I get that job, so I can make the new leggings look like NOT flood pants. He says "it's the style," I said "FUCK the style, I'm from the 70s, I AIN'T wearing flood pants!" And those jeans he found are almost a perfect match for the color of the new leggings!

I think I'm gonna try Ross, next, for some summer tops. Apparently they have good prices too, so we'll see.

i adore those. pami.
i'dd jump on them but without noticing, i seem to have decided to
accumulate sobras to last the rest of my life.

i'm lazy.
batteries always go the same way n i never need to look at any screen
besides the watts that comes up when you insert batteries.
i'd love to have pretty stuff like you guys, but it's too much work.
heck, i've studied eleectronics til i'm capable of using a mech, but i refuse to make n wick coils.

by the way, i'm finding sobras for $25, but only in gold.
the painted ones chip.
any ideas on how to dress up identical mods so i can tell them apart?
i could wrap rubber bands around one but that would be ugly.

Depending on how things shake out as far as vaping regulations, you may not have any choice, if you want to keep vaping. Learning to build and wick coils is an excellent way to be utterly independent of whatever happens.

And on that note, I need some suggestions, gang... My son is in love with these mesh quatre-coil deals, but I'm pretty sure that if the FDA brings the hammer down on that 2007 date, or even the 2016 date, those mesh coils will become extinct. I need some suggestions for good RTAs that have MASSIVE airflow and are easy to build for, for very low resistance -- that's how my spawn likes to vape, the idjit. :teehee:

She does 810's also. You just need to let her know exactly what tank or RDA it's going on and she can tell you which tip style to choose.

Hm, neato. :)

It'll be fine. Might be able to use contact paper, do a full on custom wrap by wrapping, cutting as needed then applying. Possibly might even get some of the grippy stuff. :)

Well scuse me. I won't bother the thread any further.

Andria

Didn't mean to offend you, you don't have to leave the thread. I would just prefer to keep it on topic of pretty, shiny, glitzy, girly stuff. There are plenty of other areas in the forum to discuss coil building and RTA's.

This is also an option... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XWHHBJ...&pd_rd_r=f1f29eb4-9620-11e9-84e1-bba4be2e9296

I got some of these from a different seller about a year ago. Every color of the rainbow. The ones I got were just as good as the actual wraps we buy.

*nodding* Uh huh, can see how that would work out. Oh no, you might have unleashed a crafty monster now. I'm think possibly four layers deep would be all a person might like using vinyl sheets. Thinking of doing like shadowbox or embossed type of designs. Hm, this worthy of pondering and maybe even trip to Wally World.
