Why can't you just use 0.66ohms?

I use ss316l for dual coils in my RTA's and have to do 12 or 13 wraps each to get around 0.25 ohms.

Can you fit more wraps in there if you pinch the coil together?

Go for 2.5 ID [or 3 if it fits]

If your getting .66 on 7,8 and 9 wraps something's wrong.

0.66 ohms in my opinion is too hot for an MTL device, imagine that's why OP is trying for higher. Will temp control get the vapor cool enough if he sets it low? I've never tried this.

ETA: OP, do you mean Siren 2?

Um.. ohms isn't heat. It's just resistance. TC is a waste of bytes, but you can set that up with Power/watts - or even VV/volts - and get a nice vape.

MTL devices don't have the proper airflow to run coils like that. Whether the resistance directly means heat or not, in an MTL atty, that vape would be hot.

I tend to disagree, but then I've had yihi, and dna, mechs and misc regulated and PWM mods.

In a mod that lacks a "preheat", you will end up waiting a bit with low volts, but apparently some folks are quite used to firing well away from their lips and raising it as they estimate the temp is ready.

I've had "MTL" before, running .5 to 1.2Ω - depends on the mod outputs. Right now the NC is running an orchid I had to rig with dual ni80's to hit ,9Ω - which is about perfect. It's not DTL or MTL - but thankfully it's not the old 91% either.

EDIT: correction... I left the bubble-tanked orchid over on the sxmini while the v1 aromamizer rides the NC. My bad.

(I'd love to LIKE the orchid, because.. bubbtank and "uses my otherwise useless kayfun pyrex tank stuff", but.. Seriously - I am ready to toss anything orchid/monster/kayfun related in the trash)

I'm really tempted to get the Aromamizer Lite that recently was released: single coil. BUT, that damned Noisy Cricket cannot fit 24mm atty - and the Lite is claimed to be either 23 or 23.5mm - these sort of "accuracies" make me cringe.

The wire OP pictured at the beginning of the thread is 30x2/38 SS316L Clapton wire.

Steam-engine.org says 3 mm Id coil at 12 wraps with 5mm legs gives 1.117 ohms. So OP needs 12 or 13 wraps to get close.

I had a siren clone - it was awful.

I dunno how he can fit 12 wraps in there at all, but - rotsa' ruck!

I wouldn't dare spend the bucks on an authentic Kayfun, but I have definitely let a few clones fly. Most exasperating gear I've ever had.

Would the NC V2 hold 24mm? I'm thinking so...

I don't know that he can, but that's what its gonna take with the wire he has.

I must agree with PoppaVic here. I MTL on my Steam Crave Aromamizer Lite with a 4 core, 3mm ID, 3.5 wrap Nichrome 80 Alien coil, clocking in at .14 ohms. Very cool comfortable vape at 58 watts.

PoppaVic: the Aromamizer Lite is 23mm, and worth every penny! DTL, MTL, it shines at both and you don't even have to rebuild the thing to switch styles!

Coolio.. If you threw a caliper on the base & it's 23, I'm gold - if it's 23.5. the same - over that and I'm screwed on the NC - it'll conflict with the lip on the switch.

I use an og Dead Rabbit on my NC. It's tight and over hangs a tiny bit but they pair well. I made a leather cover fot the mod and it compensates for the over hang. Looks nice as well.

I was actually going to try that same wire but didn't realize it would take that many winds. On the other hand, my RTA can easily be setup to do restricted DTL so might try it anyway (RTA is a 2018 Silverplay) Was hoping to do loose MTL with that wire... just using 26 ga Kanthal for now (actually I was going to try the Ni80 version of that superfine clapton wire... would that work better?)
