Best RTA of 2018-2019

So a lot of decent-great RTA's have come out over the last few years and I don't want to miss out. What has been your favorite(s) RTA's that have come out over the last year or so and WHY?

I haven't tried many but just ordered a profile unity and x2 rebirth's for the wife and me. I know I'll like the unity but I'm looking forward to the rebirth as well.

Anyway, so far, without trying more than 4 or 5 now, my favorite has been the serpent elevate. IT will not leak regardless of what you do. I wear dress clothes for work every day so even just a small leak is not acceptable. The flavor is awesome and it does blow some good clouds but it gives me no issues. I'll grab an RBA every now and then for my favorite juices but the elevate is just easy and simple, to me that it.

WHat's your favorite and why? I like to have an RTA/RBA setup for each flavor of juice I have so having a bunch of tanks that I really enjoy is what I want. :)

Well my favorite is the unity rta. I have 3. Second is the Elevate same as you. Easy build deck. I also like the Aromamizer series tanks just don't have any, anymore. The Reload is a great rta as far as I know. Tons of people love the reload.

The answer is subjective based on people's preferences in their vape. There are some mtl rta's that people rave about. As a DL vaper my favorite single coil RTA by a mile is the Juggernaut Mini, dual coil RTA is a toss up, Reload is great and the Rebirth has been pleasantly surprising. The Fatality M25 is also really good.

Have you tried the M25 with a single coil?

My favorite RTAs were the Reload and the Vaporz Cloud VCST 30mm. But I have not bought or researched any other RTAs for over a year. Basically ever since I discovered squonking right around the time the Vandy Vape BF mech squonk came out (sure wish I would have found out about it a lot sooner than that too).

That's about the time squonking became mainstream and more affordable. Except the coppervape. Always been affordable

Yeah. I didn't even know it was a thing until the original pulse came around. I just started vaping for the second time and finally fully stopped smoking a few months before that, and just started looking into vaping products online instead of just what my local shops carried. If I would have found squonking sooner, I would have definitely kicked my smoking habit sooner. It is just that squonking is the style of vaping that really holds my interest and fits my needs perfectly.

My first squonk was a boxer clone from ebay. More expensive than fasttech but I wanted it now and had never even ordered from ft before. Had shop mods before that. Isticks and the infamous sigelei 150.

The stagevape armor is a nice rta too. Good quality build but haven't seen many people use them. Slipped through the cracks but I thank @gadget!. For telling me about it.

the moonshot for full open clouds
its a little older but is a excellent tank that is a extremely underrated cloud chucker
its tiny and can handle huge power
its a pain to build on in till you get the hang of it

totally worth it

dvarwDL for slighty restricted clouds i have been using it since it came out and loved it athough it just doesn't do it for me now
and I'm looking at vics kelpie to replace it

anyone looking at the dvarw i would say to have a look at the evl reaper v3 its same kind of style but comes with two air flow control rings one for mtl one for DL and its been getting lots of praise from the big boys :D
there are clones of both so you can try before you buy ;)

Wow! I rarely ever see anyone else mention the Moonshot, not lately anyway. About a month I got one of mine out and built it for the first time in years. I used to be crazy about it, so I wanted to see if the flavor was as good as I remembered it being. I'm glad I did because it was fun and brought back memories, but my newer RTAs have better flavor, perform better, and are quicker to build! People always said the Moonshot was hard to build, but it really isn't any more difficult it just takes a little longer.

For me, my favorites of 2018-19 are:
Bravo RTA, Core RTA, Rebirth RTA, and Intake RTA

Been enjoying the EPHro Kelpie rta. Little bugger drinks the juice but the flavor is great.
When I saw it I didn't expect it to be that great. I keep seeing people brag about the flavor though. You think the flavor is better than a lot of the current RTAs? I also thought it was made for a single coil, but I've seen people running dual coils. Are you running it with single or dual coils?

As far as I know it was designed with a single coil in mind. If people are running dual coils those coils must be pretty damn small. I've found a 4mm ID coil to be tight but a perfect fit. I don't have a pic but I'm rocking a .3 framed staple in mine at 60 watts.

Here's another vote for the Reload RTA. Some juices (e.g., Jam Monster) taste better in it when compared to my top favorite RDAs... in pure terms of flavor performance there simply is no better RTA, using it for flavor chasing on a single battery mech with Ni80 aliens at 4.5 wraps 2.5mm ID dual coil = .11 ohms.

I've tried some RTAs so far now, and at the moment, the Steam Crave Glaz RTA has me hooked. Because it looks awesome (top-notch aesthetics!), the airflow is smooth and nice, tight airflow (resembles a 25ml tank), it is leak proof (I've tested it myself) and it is transparent, so you can see the coil and the cotton without problems. On top of that, it is very affordable, just about 60 bucks for the pack.

Yeah ,the ADV kits from INKED ATTY look funky, but man they do live up to their name. That one looks like a space capsule or something :)

Is that still your first review specimen with the non matching top and bottom pieces?
top and bottom matches (i think lol). must just be the lighting but yeah it's my 1st review specimen

Anything from Steam Crave. I had some difficulties getting my Glaz's to work well, but they rock now. Aromamizer Supreme V2's, Aromamizer Plus's... I have at least a dozen Steam crave RDTA's and RTA's and I love them all.

Yeah, all this! Steam Crave makes good rdta's. Love the airflow of the V2 but prefer the flavor from the V1 with 4ml glass. Like the flavor from the plus as well, shame mine pisses like a scared puppy. :teehee:

Add another Reload rta vaper to the list. Awesome little rta! There are times I swear I like the flavor more from the reload rta than the reload X rda. For me it's damn close.

Absolutely! There are a lot of RTAs capable of providing the same flavor as a RDA. Anytime someone says nothing can touch the flavor of a RDA, I always think "Obviously you've never built a good RTA correctly". One of my first RBAs was a RTA, and even though there was a lot of trial and error in the beginning I've never stopped using them. I didn't realize how many people have trouble building them until I got online and looked at vape forums. So I'd never realized or thought about a RTA being the most difficult atty to build.

Yeah, I like the added challenges that come with building an rta. To me, it's fun and love the smooth airflow the right rta can bring. Like the aromamizers, they are so smooth and quiet.

For me, the best RDAs still provide overall better flavor when compared to any RTA, "overall" here meaning "with the vast majority of juices I like". What sets the Reload RTA apart as truly unique IMO is that 1/ there are some good juices out there that I think taste significantly better in it when compared to vaping them in any RDA, much to the point of transforming these same good juices to great juices, and that 2/ the same cannot be said IMO about any other RTA because they all simply taste bland to me no matter what I try to do with them so the Reload RTA is the one exception for me.

I've still been enjoying the manta rta. No real wicking issues on it ever, simple offset velocity posts. Maybe the only drawback, doesn't really accommodate large coils. 3mm and 6 wraps is about it, 2.5mm fit a little better. For around $20 it's definitely worth it. Plus I like that while it went with a bubble glass it took a page from the reload and it's more of a squared bubble. Not really into the looks of the big fat fishbowl tanks.

I like single coil atties best with restricted DL, so my go-to RTAs are the Intake, Engine Nano, Zeus, Merlin Mini, and (gasp!) the Smok Spirals running its RBA.

NaRTA, Flave, Berserker (MTL), and the Hotcig Centaur are very good, too.

Ones I don't yet have but would like to add are the Juggerknot Mini, Asmodus Zesthia, and Serpent Elevate.

I kind of left the RTA scene a while ago. I'll use subohm tanks with RBAs occasionally. But I usually have atleast one Griffin 22 setup and going at all times. I love the draw and still get really good flavor out of them. By todays standards it looks goofy being so tall and skinny but I don't care.

I've won a few in contests. I liked the Themis a lot so I got one with a mesh deck. It wasn't until I got Profile practice that I got it working properly. It's pretty badass when done right. Top airflow mesh RTA before mesh RTAs really got popular. Well they're still not very popular but are getting there.

Another I won was the Serpent Elevate. I tried to like it but just can't. I'm not a rookie builder and tried quite a few things. But I eventually set it aside and can't reccomend it.

All the atty's are on the shelf for the moment, loving the Profile more and more. My 2x Rebirths both get hot too fast, not thrilled with those but no leaks and the flavor is good.

I also like restricted DL, and I think the Intake is amazing!! At first I thought the draw was a little too tight, but now I cut it down. It's actually the only top airflow RTA I even like. But I really don't even think of it as a top airflow RTA since it's functions just like it has bottom.

I liked the Rebirth RTA a lot the first day or two, but I've disappointed with the flavor ever since. I love the way it looks and think it might be the best looking RTA, so I definitely wish I could get better flavor from it! I've tried placing the coils at different heights over the air holes, and tried moving them around inside/outside some as well. I just can't get as good of flavor as I do from some of my other dual coil RTAs. Have you found anything to improve flavor, or has yours been good since your first build?

Same here, and I've tried to find a better rta. For me, the Geekvape Blitzen comes really really close but the reload still edges it out. I do like the airflow of the Blitzen much more due to how smooth and quiet it is. I think the aromamizer Supreme's and the THC Tauren comes close as well. In the end the reload is still #1.

At first I only liked rda's but then discovered the Zues line , I was still mixed until Zues X came out. After that I became a RTA guy. I started buying other ones and my favorites are Zues X, Dead Rabbit, Rebirth, and of course the Fatality. I do have a profile but it's nowhere near my top 4. So that sits in its box up on the shelf.

For MTL there have been a few standouts. Kayfun lite 2019 is excellent. Dwarv is very good. Integra is amazing. But if you want to go cheap and good both the Hastur mini and the Gate are truly as good as any high end. I would vote for:
MTL - the Gate RTA

I'm a little divided over the best DL RTA. I do a lot of RTA reviews. The standouts for me this poast year have been the Gear and the Profile Unity. Only problem I have with the Gear is that I refill it too often because I hate bubble glass. The pro is that with single coil you can build anywhere form 1 ohm to .3 ohm comfortably. The Unity takes a little time to master wicking. But once you nail it, you have no leaks or dry hits at all. So, I would vote for:
DL - Profile Unity RTA
