Aegis Solo DOA

So I bought an Aegis Solo from an overseas vendor. The first time I tried it no atty detected. Tried several from different manufacturers and same results. I did finally get it to detect one but in the process of using it I got the no atty detected message. So long story short I got a full refund and got to keep it.

So it is mine to do with what I want so figure I might try to fix it. No worry with voiding the warranty. Any suggestions where I should start? I have tried to play with the spring loaded pin. Thinking it wasn't coming up high enough but it didn't work. Is it possible to easily tear into the guts to see what is going on? If so what should I look for?

My first guess would be shitty wiring to the 510. Maybe just a solder spot

I would also suspect the 510 and first thing I would do is to check for a substance on the connections like a film of oil or lacquer. I have seen my MOD's say No Atomizer because of e-Liquid on the center pin. Good Luck and have fun doing the Forensic Examinations~!

I don't know if I'm that interested in digging into it. For what is supposed to be a durable mod it honestly feels kinda cheap. Unlike the Jackaroo. I may just smash the body and take out the 510 and make a mod stand.

Honestly dude a cheaper soldering iron and some solder from Walmart would be super cheap and a good way to go. I'd never soldered before either and had to switch a button board on a billet box one time. Was a lot easier than you'd think. The issue is probably a cut in the feed tube from the front to the rda. You could probably check the solder joints make sure they're good. Replace the hose inside the mod and I'm sure there's some way to put some water resistant sealer on the back of the board. Not sure honestly if it's just open like the say the capo squonk. It was wide open and a leaky 510.which was the disaster portion of that mod.

That's harsh. If you don't want to try and fix it, I'll save you the smashing hassle and trade you a 510 connector and a delrin atty stand for it. I'll even cover shipping both ways. lol
