OK,it seems it does not matter what the brand name is on the label, if it is made by Altaire, it is being recalled...

Altaire Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Issues Voluntary Recall of Over-The-Counter Ophthalmic Products Sold By Natural Ophthalmics And TRP Company, Inc.

July 16, 2019 -- Altaire Pharmaceuticals, Inc., announces today that it is voluntarily recalling the Over-the-Counter (OTC) drug products and lots, within expiry, sold by Natural Ophthalmics and TRP Company, Inc. during the time period as indicated in the tables. As a precautionary measure, Altaire is voluntarily initiating the recall due to management concerns regarding the sufficiency of Quality Assurance controls over critical systems in the manufacturing facility. The FDA has determined these issues indicate a lack of sterility assurance. Administration of a non-sterile product intended to be sterile may result in serious and potentially life threatening infections or death.

Wouldn't you THINK the FDA would shut them down until they could prove they can manufacture in a clean environment?

Yeah, I went over to a neighbor's ranch ("neighbor" = 8 miles down a gravel road) and picked up 600 pounds of unprocessed wheat (we use it for chicken feed), then unloaded/stacked those bags in my garage, then went out to empty, scrub, and refill the horse trough (100 gallons).
Don't know about you, but the older I get, the heat really takes a LOT out of me.
Yeah, I find it to be a real killer. It only got up to 78 here today, but with the humidity being so damn high, I sweat like it was 100 out there.

I would think so, and I note each of these claims it is a "voluntary" recall, even though I have seen the FDA letters telling them they have to. Jeeeezzz...
Now if that was an e-juice with 4mg's of nic instead of 3mg's listed on the bottle (or some such) they would be padlocking the doors.

The problem is that the e-juice makers don't have enough money to buy off the bastards the way big pharma does, and big tobacco wants us gone too. Lannie and I were just discussing the current cost of our old habit. A carton of butts in South Dakota sells for $72 today, so if we both still smoked, it would cost us $720 plus tax each month, compared to about $5 for Lannie's e-juice.

That's incredible.....altho I haven't priced smokes in 5+ years, but I'm sure their close to the same price here on the reservation.

Ciggybutt prices on the reservation here are about half what you pay in the grocery stores, but if the state finds out you're buying it there, they fine you and make you pay state and federal tobacco taxes, so it wouldn't be worth the trouble.

The best I can figure is that in order for the indians to get their butts cheaper, they are required to file a monthly statement of the names/addresses (if they can get it) of anyone who purchased butts and does not live on the reservation. I remember buying them on the AZ reservations when I lived there and they did not do shit like that.

If you go to the reservation in person and pay cash, there's no problem, but we're a bit far from a reservation that would sell smokes, so we ordered them mail-order. It was THAT process that was recorded. Even though the butts came from out of state, they sent us a bill for sales tax (they called it "use tax") on a year's worth of cigarettes, because we USED them in South Dakota. It's the same thing with vape stuff now. I can't order anything mail-order from anywhere that has "vape" or "e-cig" or "nicotine" or any related term in the vendor's name. In order to do that, I'd have to have a tobacco importer's license, because you know that vape hardware is actually the Evil Tobacco in disguise. It's sooooo stupid.

That storm Rich mentioned last night got really nasty. It just finally quit about 4:30 this morning, so it was a big 'un. We had some large hail at one point, but thankfully, it only lasted about 10 minutes. Hopefully, the lilac hedge protected the 'maters and peppers, but I'm expecting to find the chick waterers we have set out for all the new babies to have some damage. I hope not, but it was coming down pretty hard for a while. All our cats showed up at the door this morning, safe and sound, so none of them got beaned. Everyone else, except for two hens that sleep with their babies in the hedge, have a building to go into for shelter, so everyone should be OK, just soaking wet. We have lakes and streams out there again, so I'm guessing we got another couple inches of rain overnight. I WISH we could share this with somebody! We have way more than we need!

The weekly forecast went from "The next week should be generally dry" yesterday to "Although it should be generally dry, there will be a chance for thunderstorms every day this week" this morning. I guess they WANT to say it's going to dry out, but they're covering their bases. In other words, "It might be dry or it might rain like hell, we don't know." Idjits.

So... Phillip and I went to yard sales Saturday. One lady was trying to sell a box full of cigalikes. In the box were samples of flavored juices. I figured the vanilla would be nice to add to what I mix. When she said $5.00, I put it back and told her I make a 120ml bottle for a whole lot less than that. Phillip had her try my nix on his mod. She lit up like a Christmas tree, asking where I get my mix. I had to explain that I buy each ingredient, and then mix my own juice.

She gave me the vanilla.

Thanks to all of you for getting me to mix my own juice. It is much better than anything I have bought premixed.... and cheaper.

Getting tired of reading about these guys? Let's just say that every brand that is a relabeled Altaire product is bad and will be recalled. Then I won't have to post any more of the Altaire alerts the FDA sends to me.

Would be easier to just recall every product they make.......:gaah:

Still raining up in your area, Rich?
Yes. Right after we logged off Friday, we had severe thunderstorms for about three hours and that came with hail and about 2" of rain. Saturday night (early this morning), there was a repeat of that (including momentary power outages) and another 1.5" of rain. I was talking to a neighbor and said I had not seen this much rain in summer since before leaving Orygun. He said he has lived here all his life (he's about 50ish) and has NEVER seen this much rain in summer.

Yeah, well, what can we say about "global warming"? Except that it appears to be global cooling....
It barely touched 100F the entire month of June here, which is really ODD....!

Now it's just normal, altho warm....but after next month is clear sailing.

Here's the local Doppler:
dopler.JPG
The X is our place. The green dots are rain in the Black Hills, which you can see are SW of us (where the wind is coming from). The humidity is currently 86%, so it already feels wet outside.

Apparently the NWS doesn't look at doppler when forecasting weather?

I do not believe the NWS looks at anything any more, not even out their own windows to see if it is raining. The friggin' computer does everything for them and they don't even pay attention unless someone in a big east coast city is being made uncomfortable, at which point all local programming is cancelled to show the world what a 20 mph wind is doing to those poor unfortunate pussies. A few days ago, because 40,000 people lost their power for a couple hours, ALL news was cancelled while they gave us constant updates on the traffic conditions. I wish these assholes would get off their asses and do a real job.

Now, I think it is time for this tired old phart to crawl in bed. Sigh...

My goodness, but you are early tonight. :)

Looks like the thunderbumpers gonna wet upon you.

Luckily, the rain did not make it this far last night (or should I say early this morning?), but due to the high humidity, the dew was very thick this morning, so it felt like we got rained on (grass too wet to mow). And today was clear all day with a wind from SE at about 10-12 mph, so the best I could do outside was whack the crap out of the tall weeds in the cow pen.

Another day toward winter......well at least it didn't rain on you.
