I recently purchased a Dotsquonk , not the 100w, during the recent holiday sales. The mod will not fire. I have tried every size of compatible battery (21700,20700,18650, all freashly charged and the first two options brand new actually. I've also tried the above mentioned battery combos with many different rda's and nada. Does anyone familiar with this device have a clue what the issue might be? Maybe there is something that is known that I haven't done fresh out of the box. Guessing I got a lemon but I wanted to ask here before coming to that conclusion myself. Thanks

Is this the single battery mech?

What up gsmit1? Hope all is well. Yeah it's the single 20700,18650 with adapter. I mistyped earlier the mech does not have 21700 compatibility. I bought some new Molicell 20700s specifically for this mod. I use them in others for now until I, hopefully, get this issue squared away. The hand check thread has had me wanting one of these for months and the 4th deals were too good to pass. In addition to the mod I bought two extra sets of doors and an extra color bottle so I could switch up the look. Then I pop the batteries in and............. Crickets. I'm just seeing if this is a common occurrence before trying to deal with a return, which was not directly through Dotmod mind you

Maybe a silly question but are you putting the battery in positive side down? If not, you might not be getting a connection.
These are very simple mods, not much can go wrong with them short of something missing in the switch or 510 assembly.

Another really dopey thing to consider, and this probably isn't it, but worth mentioning, is you may REALLY have to mash on that button to get a good connection with that mod. I have one :)

They can be taken apart to see what's going on in there too.

Like creature said, these are really simple. Whatever it is can definitely be chased down.

Not a silly question at all. I've tried every battery configuration possible. I do believe there is a wire involved in this mod so it's not 100% mechanical. Mine must be janky. Crossing my fingers for a easy return. I haven't even squonked juice through the 5-10 yet. Luck of the draw.... I'll let you all know how things end up when, if I get a replacement

I will try hitting that button with a vengeance when I get a chance to play with it again. Thanks gsmit

No it's definitely fully mechanical. No wires. Anything's possible with a man made device, but there's not much to go permanently wrong.

If you take the back panel off, there's 4 little torx screws in there. Remove those and push on the panel from inside the mod and that gives you access to the whole trigger assembly.

And ya know what? Actually there is a short braided wire in there. I had forgotten.

So I just messed around with the mod again. Gsmit1, your advise at least got this thing to fire. Pushing, and I mean PUSHING the button will get it to fire 3 out of 5 times. But there is something wrong with the button or contact because it's not firing per press and the pressure needed when it does fire is almost like you need to place your other thumb on top of the thumb that is pressing the button. It's late so time to go to bed but at least there is a little headway here, which is great. Maybe I just need a new button or other smaller pieces and the mod is ok? Thanks for the replies

So I have this mod. I’ve also had problems but I’ve figured out what mine are, anyway. The 510 pin. For some reason, certain attys won’t fire on it. I guess for mine, I need an atty that has a more protruding 510 pin. I’m running a Drop Solo on it right now and it works. But others haven’t.....I’m sorry I don’t remember which other ones didn’t work. Maybe that’s your issue, too?
