Dicodes Dani Box 21700- Wow

I decided to try a different chip than my long time choice, the DNA series.
I ordered a Dicodes Dani Box 21700, though I was concerned about their menu layout and the lack of Replay mode.

While the initial "What the heck is this" of the menu took about 30 minutes to go away, the effort was well spent.

The mod vapes better than my DNAs and is definitely built to a totally different standard. Gotta hand it the Germans. The feel, the threading, the weight balance, all are, hmmm, exquisite is the word.

May be a tad pricey, but if you can swing it I highly recommend this mod.

I'm a pretty hardcore DNA fan myself, both for the TC (on the older chips) and watts with replay (on the colors). Could you go into how you feel the Dani chips compare performance-wise?

The Dani Mini is awesome also... I was on the fence about getting the 21700 since I have a ton of 18650 batteries (That and I use 22mm RTAs lol) but I have to agree, TC is better imo on the Dani than DNAs.

The menu system as you mentioned took a sec to get used to... biggest thing was changing the screen on timer... I made the mistake of having it as default 3 seconds, and every time I went to read the screen and before I could make a choice...boof it was off and had to go through the motions again.

The only down falls to the Dani are warranty (Have to ship Germany) and the lack of software upgrade support (Can upgrade...if sent to Germany LOL)

The Standard as you mention is spot on... from fit to finish and tactile responsiveness of the buttons to the clean lines, its a wonderful mod.

Similar to German Luxury cars... even the 2004 BMW M3 still looks really great for a 15 year old auto, just a timeless design.

Congrats on the mod!

How is the battery efficiency?
I would love a Dani; but vaping at 80-90w consistently makes it a hard choice compared to a dual cell box.

Both the Mini and 21700 are 80w boxes... you'd be maxed out on a single cell 21700... now the 21700 has a boost feature to 100w...but that 100w is reliant on the charge state of the battery.

I can't say how long it would last at 80w...but my meager 16w on my mini lasts the day...

The Dani Mini/21700 are perfect for the sub 35w/65w vaper imo

That’s kind of what I was afraid. I just don’t vape there often enough to justify the expense of a dicodes.
Sure wish they would do a dual batt mod.
Keep the board limitations the same just give me the run time.

Mind you, the Dicodes is still a new mod for me.
I don't and haven't used power mode since, well, for years.
I find the Dicodes to be the better mod for TC. For my coils (27 ga NiFe48, 3.5mm ID, 6wraps for 0.18 ohms for the pair) it is a smoother vape. It's a close competition between my past 167s, 75Cs, and 250Cs but currently I have two identical tanks, coils, wicking, and unflavored juice. The Dicodes is the better vape for me.
As for Replay, I found that my mods would be out of Replay mode. I don't know if it gave up, I hit the wrong button while holding the mods, or what. But, along the way, I had more than a few "Oh God terrible" hits and look to find the mod was no longer in Replay mode. Plus, I found I enjoy regular TC on the DNAs more that the Replay experience. So, I have not compared the Dicodes to Replay mode as I found TC mode to beat it.
Power consumption is better on the Dicodes I think. My tanks and me get along great at 35W with a 50W preheat on the DNAs. On the Dicodes, 30W no preheat provides the same experience. The single 40-T 21700 provides at least the same vaping time as the pair of 30Qs in the DNAs.

In all, I'd rate this Dicodes mod the winner by a head in the TC vaping sweepstakes.
With the current exchange rates (Creme de Vape), this was not so much more expensive than a Lost Vape DNA mod. It is SO much better built!

For me using the 40-T it vapes at least the same length of time as my 250Cs with a pair of 30Qs.
Constant use at it's max rating probably wouldn't suit you though.

Thanks! I learned something today. I shall make the menus stay put a little longer.

@ShowerHead what did the 21700 Dicodes come out to in US $ after the conversion with shipping included from Creme de Vapes? Thanks!

$263.49 with Royal Mail shipping. Which arrived here in about 3 days!
I used PayPal, then selected to use GBP because my bank gives a much better rate than PayPal and doesn't have foreign transaction fees.

I don’t understand, doesn’t Paypal use your bank? How do you use paypal & your bank & bypass Paypal? GBP stands for Great Britain Pound o_O

4420C044-D5FC-435E-85BA-27226DB2C3FF.jpeg I just received my Dani V2 in the mail and after printing out the “ manual “ all 17 pages of it I’m a little scared to put a battery in it , the amount of info provided is mind boggling ( to me ) so much info and instructions makes me wonder how the heck they fit all that in one little itty bitty chip..
Dicodes did send me a different battery cap for it in case I needed to swap them out,
That was nice of them.

Well, I have my credit card there and usually PayPal makes the payment and charges the card.
If you choose, you can pay in the foreign currency and PayPal passes the transaction straight to the card. Thus avoiding PayPal excessive transaction fee and worse exchange rate.
I could use the card directly but avoid that what with all the risks nowadays.

Ahhh, I understand now :D thanks so much for explaining that to me. I do have Credit Cards linked in Paypal too. But i didn’t realize it worked the way you explained. Thank you so much! Now I just have to check to see if my card has foreign transaction fees.

I'll have to look when I again do a foreign transaction.
It is a little text link 'currency options' when you click it you have the option of paying in your home currency or in the foreign currency, in this case GBP.

thanx. I am about to order from GB, just a skin. and It could kill the deal if all kinds of other fee's were added on.

Don’t forget to make sure you aren’t paying the VAT since you aren’t required to.

What about Dicodes USA? Just curious why people are ordering from other European sites?

Well...

I got mine from Dicodes USA...a tad more expensive. So when people ask I say go ahead and order from them...caveat being, you call and have them state it’s actually in stock...they are notorious for selling items they haven’t taken physical inventory of.

Now CDV on the other hand hasn’t run this gambit of selling items they don’t have, so more reliable source...that and they are a tad cheaper and you get it at most 4 days.

That's excellent info, thank you. I was looking at buying the 21700 with an RTA on their site, but know to call now.

There was talk of some late last year ordering their 21700's from D-USA and not ever getting them. D-USA blaming that the delivery from Dicodes was late, which lead to them being known for selling items not in stock.

This continued with some RTAs, especially the 24 Kafun lite and then 22 recently...lots of chatter on reddit about that also.

Again, my experience with them is good, but it was a singular item (Dani Mini)

As with CDV...only thing people gripe about is that its coming from Europe ;)

Are they using the same dicodes chip in - all the dani mini- dani v2 and dani 21700 80w,s,
I have pipeline pro basically a dani mini 80w, I usually use the dna 60s 75c,s , was strange the menu difference but must agree seems a great mod board,
TC 316L 18-19w 410 f, with Dvarw-22 R-DTL, or C1 boosted an Blasted half tanks, seem to be my go too tanks,
Was looking to buy a dicodes board as well between the bf 60 or FL80 board for a diy mod build. but no matter battery size both limited to 60w on both boards all info says.
Unless you are going with a 2 cells build on the FL 80w,
Where it will go 80w then and inc's a usb, is there anyway to get 80w from one 21700 with fl 80 board

Ended up picking up the bf 60w from cream de la vapes, for some future build, now to find a wiring guide somewhere on where im soldering to for connection of externally mounted buttons rather than the on board, at least wont need a USB for a small build,
