Hey!

I think that everybody needs some motivation to start a day. Also, I think that everybody has its own techniques to get motivated for the long day ahead. (i.e. on Mondays haha)

I personally sing out loud before going out. And I have 10min of meditation every morning - that helps a lot!

How do you start your engine??

Rockstar organic strawberry energy drink, a banana nut muffin, and the morning news gets me awake. 30 min hiding in my bay away from our cameras fully starts the day

Several puffs on my vape and go out on the back porch while the dog does her 1&2, I do a 1 in the bush, it’s much easier not having to aim that early in the morning. Come in, feed her, grab an orange mt. Dew in the summer, make a coffee in the winter. go back to bed and turn the tv on and drink my beverage. Oh I throw on some clothes after the puffs but before the back porch. When the beverage is done I officially get up.

Well, Tapatalk sent my own post to me—so I’ll mention that I bought a Cube X on a whim, and on sale, at MVS tonight. I love the Cube I’ve got with internal batteries, but this one has external. Happy days, one 18650 in a mod I love. :bliss:

I’ve got some not so great gear that I bought when I started vaping again months ago, so I’m going to put them away and just use the gear I love. My version of tough love! ;)

First thing I do is reach for my rig and get a nic fix! I smoked first thing in the morning, so I vape first thing. (Then brush teeth/pee. Possible over sharing. lol) Then off to make coffee with possibly more vaping, but I can wait for the coffee to brew. Then maybe some organic almond butter on toast. I’m on a nut butter kick, so I could just stick a spoon in and skip the toast. I will also make bacon and eggs, if the hubs wants it.

Does everyone here vape in the morning before getting out of bed? It sounds really OTT to me writing it out like this!

I’m curious what you sing. Are you toning or just singing songs you like? Cool idea, though.

My day cannot start till I have at least half of my 9oz mug of Twinings English Breakfast tea -- the first one is the real deal, with caffeine, though after that first one, I switch to decaf. :) Once I'm dressed, the tea is brewed and ready to drink, and I make sure my RDA is full and my mod has a fresh battery, and off I go, either here, or Quora, to see what people were saying while I was sleeping. :) Usually quite a bit, since i rarely get up before 11, and most often, not till closer to noon. By the time I've read/replied to half a dozen or so, the bacon is usually done, so I can have either Cheerios or blueberry Frosted Mini Wheats, both with fresh blueberries.

I used to sleep in shifts like that, when my son was young and I had to do the mommy stuff in the mornings -- fix his breakfast, either take him to school or make sure he gets to the bus stop on time -- after that, I'd go to bed for my "main sleep" from about 9am till about 3pm, when I'd get up to either pick him up from school or be alive when he came in from riding the bus. That was mainly because I've always been a night owl, and getting to bed before 3am just doesn't happen in my life, but getting up at 6am after going to bed at 3am.. WAHHHHH... hence the main sleep from 9am to 3pm. :D

Once he graduated from high school, it took maybe 6 months to get used to sleeping late... going to bed at 3-4am is no big deal when you can sleep till the crack of noon. :D The only time it's really a problem is on payday, when I have to be conscious and ambulatory at my husband's lunch time, so I can keep the truck after taking him back to work, then go and make the deposit in the bank. It would sure save some hassle if his stupid company would offer direct deposit, but they don't. :(

Usually it's some random uplifting songs with lyrics which I know, that's it. :D

Cool, if only I could sing! Lol Probably I’d sing blues, can’t really screw it up.

It doesn't matter if you sing good or bad, that's not the point. :D

Yep, it’s like singing intentionally to set a mood. I would prolly sing 20’s or 30’s songs, actually. :teehee: Cheerful songs written in the midst of the Great Depression here. It’s fairly similar now, though.

I hope it gets better when the kids go back to school. And when Fall finally decides to come around, so you can be slightly cooler at work.
Really glad you won that contest, brother.

I'm very thankful I won it I used most all of it on peaches it's my adv anything with peach...When I'm back on some kind of schedule first thing in the "morning" gonna turn on the history channel vape on some peach and sip on coffee till the school bus comes...

I’m so glad that your cheap ass boss had to buy fans!
Even though someone had to pass out, it served a greater good and I hope they’re fine now. You’re an employee, not a serf in feudal times. It’s uncool when bosses take advantage of hard economic times like that and screw people over!
I almost asked what you bought! It’s nice that you know what your ADV is. But I’m still liking tobacco flavors, and use them to mix with other juice I have for a fuller feel to the flavor or for some smokiness.
I like peach too, and raspberries. I bought a sample of peach from a company I used to like and it put me off peach. It was meant to be fresh peach but it tasted really fake and chemically.
Eventually I’ll DIY, but it’s only 4 months now that I’m smoke free, so I’m not hurrying.
Coffee amazingly goes with mostly everything! ️ Even non food things like TV or a movie make me want to drink coffee and vape while watching, to chill out.
Enjoy the fans! And the peach when it comes.

How do you start your engine?

It was started long ago. I have not found an off switch, or ignition key. I do the get up and go urinate bit, sometimes I have coffee, sometimes not. Find writing helps as a means of meditation for me, as does building coils somewhat.

Learned early it is better to not plan what is not known. No routine for me "getting going" of a morning. Routine would imply a plan. Who knows? A large safe deposit box could fall from the sky killing me as I take my dog out to potty.

Yes, that would be absurd. Life itself is absurd though. Apologies, I'll hush. Realized I'm shuffle footing again.

Ok at the risk of being a pain in the arse, I’m not satisfied with this answer. I’d like to have some examples of what songs you are singing. Just curious what songs you find uplifting and also what kind of music you are a fan of.

i prefer electronic music, but for earlier morning i listen or sing something more funny old-ish more pop 2000±2010 ('owlcity fireflies' i.e.)

later for travel to work i listen for lo-fi beats.

I love me some fireflies, 'Cause I'd get a thousand hugs
From ten thousand lightning bugs, As they try to teach me how to dance.
It’s an excellent song.

Thanks I enjoyed the live version especially. That has to be such a rush to hear a huge crowd sing lyrics that you came up with as you play a song created by you. The first time I heard this song I was in the middle of a insomnia fit and it touched me deeply. It was eerie when he sings “I’m too tired to fall asleep” because that was exactly how I felt and he sings “I leave my door open just a crack”’ and I looked at my bedroom door I leave cracked to keep my dog from throwing a fit at 3am wanting to get in. She hates closed doors, that’s a big no-no with her. Anyway in my illogical sleep deprived brain I thought this song was written just for me. Well after some sleep I came to my senses and realized that was ridiculous but I still love this song and connect with it on a deep level. Just thought I’d share that story with y’all and sorry for the thread drift.

Experiencing much the same tonight / this morning listening to Aurora Aksnes. Started listening to her roughly 9:30 PM here locally via Youtube, it's nearing 3 AM locally here still listening to her. Do yourself a favor, hear her just once. :) Understand she is either a siren or music itself, or a muse, or a force of nature / the universe.

and this song is about astral projection btw. If you believe in such stuff. :D
Wow that’s some good music trivia, thank you. I’ll listen to it again with new ears trying to understand astral projection.

She has a very beautiful voice, it’s mesmerizing. I’m sure it’s even more so when you are sleep deprived.

When I am in the spirit and not recovering from one of my many addictive vices. I like to wake up and spend a few minutes quiet time talking and listening. And I enjoy Christian heavy metal. Kind of gets me pumping. Again that's only my preference. And that is not when I was in the throes of my addictions. However lately those times have been shorter and shorter. Of course a little caffeine helps. Hot and strong with a little bit of hazelnut creamer.r

My toddler son wakes me up. Take him potty first. Get him a drink, make my iced coffee, put his cartoons on. Vape. Then, I scroll through my phone on stupid fb, but now I’m here so scrolling through VU will be my new thing.
