I have had enough experience with nicotine to tell me that you would not not like the end result of that without waiting 2 months to get an answer. I understand the motto of try it yourself. but some things are pretty obvious. can you let a can of soda sit out for a month and be ok ? sure why not , could you drink it? hell yes you could. would you want to ? there are benefits to storing anything properly. that goes for anything. leaving capped nic in the kitchen cabinets in the summer is enough to affect your nicotine. I store long term in the freezer and what I am using in a mini fridge. there is a difference.
Most beer comes in amber bottles for a reason. The sun degrades. Most coatings come with UV protection. Those that don't, don't last.
Most people have experienced the results of expozer to sunlight. Look at the dashboard of an old car. No need to test it on my nic, IMO.

Ok, I'll do it tomorrow, and report back every 2 weeks. I'll do a 12mg 50/50 no flavor and compare to a fresh 12mg 50/50. All I have to lose is a tiny bit of nicotine and will gain some knowledge (and maybe a sore throat or headache).

10ml sample of 10% MFS nic @ 50/50 pg/vg in a 30ml bottle, paper towel covering the top. Initial taste was pretty much slightly sweet air. Mix is totally clear, no tint or cloudiness. Weather has supplied clouds for 2 days, so much for keeping it in sunlight. Tomorrow I will move it to work, I have a window sill in a HVAC room that gets sun all day long and stays at 76 degrees 24 hours a day. I will check the liquid temp occasionally and take pics for shits and giggles.

Has anyone had experience with their VG nicotine expanding in their freezer?
Do you fill the the glass bottles up to the top before capping them?
Just want to make sure it's being stored and the level best for longevity. Whether leaving little air in the bottles or room for expansion is best.

I fill mine about a half inch from the top.. then freeze it..
i have also packed it completely.. no difference that i have noticed, either way, except the top was extremely hard to take off..

I have read where some people have experienced mason jars cracking in the freezer. It seemed to have something to do with the types of lids they were using, maybe the ringed, 2 piece lids? I wish I could recall exactly.
As far as freezing my own, I've never had any issue using an glass amber bottle, or even a cobalt one. Both have the smaller neck, not like a mason jar.

Well, it has been a month. I finally remembered to check the sample. It has taken on a slight peach hue, very light. It smells like nothing. Tried a sample vape, tastes pretty much as it did when first mixed, I found no harshness or pepperish notes. Still slightly sweet. Sunlight has been at a premium this past month, but when it shines bottle is in full sun 7-8 hours a day. Back on the shelf it went in a 10ml bottle.

Geeez, it was such a simple question.....
VG and VG-nic-base SHRINK when cooled. Fill a bottle to the brim, stick it in the freezer, and you'll see it's a lower level (or if in plastic, the sides will be a little sucked in) when it gets cold. It will expand to fill the bottle again as it warms up.

I've had a large bottle of Wizard Labs nic in the freezer in its original plastic amber container, never opened, for going on a year now. I know that Wizard suggests putting it into glass bottles, but I didn't do that. Can anyone think of any reason there would be a problem just keeping it in the thick hard plastic bottle that it came in?
I believe the reason for switching to glass is that the plastic could theoretically leach into the nic solution.

I think it'd be reason enough that it was a recommendation from the supplier, plus EVERWHERE I read said to, so I transfer to glass.

I did do that with my first Wizard nic order but the second one I just shoved it in the freezer bubblewrap and all. I suppose once I use up the other batch and get to that one I'll spread it out into a bunch of amber bottles but I guess it's a little too late now to worry about the leaching.
I usually get more bottles when I order nic. Pads the order a little, and I always seem to run short at least one.

OK, Nic has been in the freezer for a few months now...it's just fine......just cracked the first bottle that was in the freezer and it's just the same ( for all intents and purposes) as the bottle that's been in the cupboard since I bought it.

According to the WL website 100mg will degrade faster than lower strength mixes because of incomplete nicotine solvation in the diluent. I have been mixing mine down to 50 mg just to add another layer of protection. If the nicotine molecule is completely solvated then it cant react with air or water in the mix because it is completely surrounded by the solvent.

If they've been there a while without issue, then I wouldn't be concerned. I also bubble wrap my bottles. I really do wish I could recall, but it was a couple people's experience, not a big red labeled warning. It was likely at the other forum. I'm going to google and see if I find it.

Notes on oxidation: Nicotine oxidizes rapidly with exposure to oxygen, light, heat, and moisture. As Nicotine oxidizes the color of the solution will turn yellow to amber brown in color. Higher strength Nicotine solutions will oxidize more rapidly than lower strength Nicotine solutions. This does not significantly diminish the strength, potency, or safe handling requirements of the solution. All of Wizard Lab's Nicotine solutions are purged with Argon gas at the time of bottling to eliminate excess oxygen, and help prevent oxidation during shipment.

I did some figuring and my wife and I vape @50mls of 48mg nic a month. The liter of 100 nic I got will cut into a bit over 2 liters of the 48mg nic base I'm use to using, so thats 2000mls of 48nic at 50mls/month so I have a 40 month supply. I only need 100 or so mls of nic base at my desk for my DIY needs. I bought a couple 500ml amber bottles, I have them stored in the freezer, so I'm assuming that in and out of the freezer, opening the 500 just for 50 or so mls of nic to mix into 48 would accelerate the oxidizing of the nic from the constant handling. Would it be more practical to have 20 50ml bottles of the 100nic in the freezer then pull one out as needed, thaw and serve. My 100nic is 50/50 so its mighty thick when frozen.

I use 250 ml bottles. The open bottle stays in the fridge. I use that to fill 3 30ml bottles
I buy a case of 100ml wide mouthed bottles and shake the nic, split a liter into those. I store them in the box they arrived in, it has the little dividers, then the whole thing in the freezer. When I need one, pull,let come to room temp, then shake, shake, shake and ready to mix.
