Watched X-Men Dark Phoenix the other night and I thought it was good contrary to reviews. Although a couple of things did not fit in the long running series.

I also "like" a lot of posts made by those I consider friends, if they said something witty, hilarious, wise, or just cool. I'm a terrible blabbertypist but sometimes you just can't add anything. :D

And per the topic... we finally got to see John Wick 3. I'm not sure it was as great as the first two, but I enjoyed it. Just non-stop asskicking. Still can't quite figure out what's going on with the character played by Ian McShane... hmmm, Winston? But it was nice that they definitely let us know there will be a #4... I mean, how could there NOT be??? :D Nice to see Jerome Flynn again. He's come a looooooooong way from Ripper Street -- I liked him them, definitely enjoyed his characgter in GoT, so it was nice to see he's not letting any grass grow under his feet since GoT finished. The guy that Wick went to see in the desert... was that the guy from GoT who *nearly* beat Mountain in a duel in GoT, till he just HAD to gloat? Sure looked like him.

ETA: My son and I determined today that the Moroccan elder was not, in fact, Pedro Pascale... though he sure looked like him, in that arabian-nights getup.

A lot of the liking thing comes from ECF ppl being kinda cheapskates with likes for posts. I felt like you had to be friendly with them for them to like your post. Fuck ‘em.
I’m an equal opportunity serial post liker.

Dr. Terror’s House of Horrors.

With Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing and Michael Gough. Very fun 60’s creepy movie and not kitschy really.

WOW! I feel like I'm in Walmart and hearing someone walking around talking loudly oin the phone. You're only getting half the conversation and it really makes you want hear the other side..

Anyway, back to minding my business. I finally saw Spiderman: Far From Home. Wasn't too bad. Might have been better had my nerd son not been trying to analyze everything with logic.

I know this is old but somehow just saw it. How fucking dumb does she have to be to stick around after him cheating all those times of that's the real case.

So he left the forum when she called him out like that? Not the best time to be a vaper on your own, imo. With bans et al.

I would leave someone so fast if they were double dealing like that. Way uncool. But confrontation in front of strangers is uncool, too.

My friend just uploaded Teenage Zombies, so it’ll be that one for tonight. 1950’s sci-fi non classic.

I'm not sure what it would be worth, if anything. Probably not nearly enough to need it specified in the Home Owners' Ins. It has a completely broken binding, so it's really not in terrific shape (the glued end pages are the only thing holding it together!) -- the pages are fine, not "foxed" at all, but with that broken binding, it can't be read without risking worse damage... and I've heard that if you rebind old books, they lose a LOT of their value. So it just sits on the shelf for me to admire.

That broken binding is probably why it was in the flea market, for such a reasonable price -- about $20 I think. Or maybe whoever put it in the flea market or priced it had no idea exactly what they had. My husband and I saw a terrific, non-scratched copy of Badfinger's "Straight Up" album in a flea market, for $60 -- which is actually not a terrible price for such a rare collectible in such excellent condition, but we couldn't afford it -- we'd had a baby not long before that, so most of our money went for diapers and baby food. :D Then we saw it in a used record store, in equally fine condition... for $5. The shop owners were some type of eastern European, probably had no idea who Badfinger was or why the album was a collectible. And there are an amazing, SHOCKING number of people who just think "meh" and shrug about Sherlock. Philistines! ;)

Joker (2019) - 9/10

An impressive origin story of the Joker which will really make you empathise with the character.
Superb acting, great music and a strong, balanced plot which successfully builds up the tension for the predictably shocking grand finale.
The story is tragic, darkly comical, and stylishly put together, although they could have done more to make the city feel like Gotham.
