Geekvape Aegis vs Nova

Other than cosmetically, what is everyone opinion on these mods?

I was going to get the Nova but then saw a video of someone saying it is "weak AF". The Nova is also around $15 cheaper.

I had two Aegis mods and one of them stopped working last month. My other mod is the Modefined Sirius, which I also like a lot.

I've got both and I see no difference in performance. They also both have the same screen with the lightning bolt when you turn them on. The Aegis is more comfortable in the hand but it's bulkier. The Aegis will fit 30mm tanks. I don't understand the "weak AF" comment; does that mean weak airflow? Or weak as fuck? The Nova is a very good value as most places are trying to clear them out. I got mine pretty cheap from 8Vape: https://www.eightvape.com/products/...lus-cerberus-tank?_pos=2&_sid=4dcde7d7f&_ss=r

No complaints on either mod. I have 2 Aegis and 1 Nova. I would buy either again.

He said he set it at 70w and then at 100w and felt no difference. When he went to 120w he felt something. A lot of the commenters said it sounded like he had a dud mod.

I went ahead and ordered it for something like $28.99 today.

It is my understanding they both use the same AS chip set. I would like to add a Nova to my arsenial it is a great looking mod.

I got rid of my Nova because it ended up being pretty much the most uncomfortable mod I've ever held for long periods of time.

The Aegis Legend is one of my favorite mods of all time. Looks fantastic & is super comfortable & durable.

I'm really surprised to hear one of your Aegis mods stopped working since they have such a solid reputation. I wouldn't let that deter you, I believe that's the exception & not the rule.

Overall, I would advise strongly against the Nova. I bought it because I thought the resin panels are beautiful, but my hands hated me for it. There are so many other awesome, comfortable resin mods that you should be able to find cheap.

Hope this helps! :)

I have an aegis solo and I love it. It’s lightweight for my hand and fits nicely. I want the legend, but it’s a little bulky for my hands.

When I first went mod shopping I kept going towards the aegis mods. They have great reviews, can take a beating, and have many other great specs.

I have an Aegis Legend and absolutely love it. I stated in a previous post that I had learned that the legend and the Nova maintain the same AS 200 chip.

I have admired the Nova and it's design and appearance. I really like the way it looks and if it behaves like my Aegis Legend only lacking the durability then it would be a nice addition to my geekvape assortment.

So I made a trade with one of our beloved members and am now the proud new owner of a gray and black ish geekvape Nova. It does in fact behave just like the legend. With your eyes closed you would not know the difference between the two I am sure. So now I can appreciate the durability of my Legend and the appearance and style of the novo and know that I have my bases covered.

They use the same chip. Only difference is aesthetics and ergonomics.

It's not as comfortable as the AL for sure, but I don't find the Nova to be UNcomfortable either. You must really grip your mods hard, no offense. :)

For me it's alli relative. I don't grip hard or anything, but compared to something like the Mag Grip or Jackaroo, the Nova just feels like a hard-edged deck of cards & just isn't what I want, aesthetics be damned.

But I see the appeal others may see in it. Just not for me. I guess I found the grass was greener elsewhere. :)

I have gotten many compliments on my Nova. Mostly the old schoolers if vaping. It is reminiscent if the older mods ( Hammond box?) and has modern aethestics as well. I would not want to drop it though. But I just really like the looks and performance is on point.

I've read many times these two mods dont have the same chip. But maybe the newer runs do? I have no idea though. The screens look the same but read performance and battery life was better with the Nova when they first came out. Like I said, I couldn't tell you for sure though because I never got an Aegis Legend.

Everything I can find on google tells me the Nova and Legend use the same chip. Now that being said they do have different versions. The Nova (newer to me) has verson 1.0, the Legend has version 1.1. Other than battery life there is absolutely no performance difference, IMO.

It does look like the corners could have done with a bit of mild radiusing, if this review photo is any guide:

In this respect I feel Vaporesso got it right with their Gen, which still has an uncomplicated, throwback look, but appears to be, and is reported to be, comfortable in the hand.

The OP wrote "other than aesthetics," but I'm going to mention this, anyway: I might still have been persuaded to add the Nova to my list of candidates, but I dislike the splashy paint jobs. They are most definitely not "me".

I have a Gen, & for me it's infinitely more comfortable than the Nova. Not even the same species of you ask me. Absolutely love that mod.

I have both the Legend and the Nova mod. The Legend is a personal favorite along with the Gen. The Nova is a good inexpensive mod, and though it may have the same chip as the Legend, it clearly is not built as well. It is a good, versatile, cheap mod for those who don't want to drop a lot of cash.

That's a good point, & although it's true at the price the Nova goes for nowadays, I don't believe the same could be said back when it released.

I bought mine mod only for about $40 before shipping, & I do think that was a tad high even at the time for what I received.

Don't get me wrong though- I never hated it, just didn't like it as much as others in the same price range at the time.

For the $20-ish the mod goes for now, though, I think you're spot on. :) That two-sided resin was gorgeous then & now, too, IMHO.

I order my mods on line so there isn't much opportunity to see any short comings other than the pics they show. I try to take reviews with a grain of salt if I don't have any knowledge about the reviewer. I read multiple bad reviews on the Legend and it prevented me from purchasing it sooner, until I said, screw it, I'm getting it. Glad I did too, as the bad reviews couldn't have been more wrong in my case. However, I do think the Nova is worth $20 bucks, I got mine for less than that. It's what I've dubbed a beater mod that I won't lose any sleep over if I break it or it simply fails. I too also like the color of the resin panels with one exception. An almost perfect circle of the resin panel came off where the magnet is, exposing it on the removable panel. I still have the piece that came off, haven't decided if I will try super gluing it back on if that's possible. Other than that, it's been a great mod that I have used daily since getting it.

Yeah you should be able to glue that back on, no problem.

Yeah that's great you got it that cheap!

And yes, I absolutely adore my Aegis Legend. Still ones of my all-time favorites. :)
