Ok....I own pretty much all of GeekVape's Aegis line with tje exception of the new Aegis X. I also own the VandyVape Jackaroo. All of them are very SOLID mods and can take a beating and stand up to the conditions I work in. The problem I am having is finding a tank worthy of the mod. The tank that came with the Jackaroo kit is ok, but I haven't dropped it yet....lol. One of my favorite tanks is the Freemax Fireluke Mesh Pro with tje 6ml glass, but I have broke so many glasses I lost count. I keep at least 6 on hand at home. I saw a Squid Industries RTA that looked promising, but juice capacity sucked. RDAs are out of the question where I work....powder coating and dripping don't mix well!

Does anyone have any suggestions for a tank RTA or SUB OHM with 5-10ml, larger coil if sub ohm, and with little or no glass?

I have a MTL Berserker RTA by VandyVape that has a full metal sleeve option, but I would rather DTL.

Vandy vape triple v2 bubble glass is plastic. And like a 9ml
Look practical and up to the task, but when I tried to find it online, it was out of stock everywhere I looked. I will keep looking though. Thanks!

Well shit that sucks. Hope you can find one. They're great flavor monsters which is surprising for the size

Might have to shop overseas, maybe. All my go-to places were out, too.

Not even seeing it overseas. You could post up a WTB thread in the Hardware section here. Someone may have one they'd part with.

Real Kayfuns come with metal tanks as an accessory - been using the metal tank for a couple of months

Takes a little getting used to, but it ain't gonna break, lol

Looked like Aliexpress had them, but they quit shipping vape products to the U.S.

I'll check some of my other overseas sites tomorrow.

Cool looking and everything, even found a decent clone version. But even though I do use MTL from time to time, I prefer a big DTL with a higher nic LVL at work (@12-18mg) to hold me over till I get a chance to hit my vape again. Sometimes hours go by between vaping opportunities at work.

The Kayfun 5 is definitely DL - and only one of settings is really restricted

You get DL with the af all the way open on the K5

BTW, I was on here starting a thread about the same problem almost a year ago and it was the recommendation of @JuicyLucy that I bought a clone Kayfun V5 with a steel tank to try. (she didn't suggest a clone, but that's what I decided to try first). I ended up liking it so much that I now have 3 authentic Kayfuns.

Thanks a lot guys! Guess I just might have to try the K5. So the clones are available at Fastech or ECC?

Not trying to ding you. Just curious. How is it you're breaking all these tanks' glass?

Usually happens at work. I'll tip it over, knock it off where I had it sitting, it will fall out of my pocket, a metal part that I am powder coating will hit it while it's in my pocket, etc. Sometimes just plain old carelessness. Just paying more attention to my work than my mod. That's why I started using the Aegis line. Shockproof...dustproof,and even being waterproof has saved it once or twice. The highest I've ever dropped one of my Aegis mods from was about 15 feet and that was the first one I bought the Aegis 26650 100w.... I still use it today...2 years later!

Sounds like Geek Vape needs to come up with a tank that's as tough as their mod.

I know that's right! The Aegis Solo came with the Cerberus tank...very weak in my opinion. I keep burning coils in it...lol I got huge lungs I guess. That's why I like bigger coils and RTAs I can slap my own builds on. I do like the ocasional MTL but not too often. Freemax Fireluke...Smok TFV16, GeekVape Zeus (single or dual)RTA, Juggernaut RTA, and the like are more my style.

Geekvape Nova with Medusa Reborn. Marketed as a RDTA by Geekvape. It is basically an RDA with a 3.5 mil. (not mm) reservoir according to specs. It is solis SS with no glass. It gives up great flavor and huge clouds. It does however behave like an RDA and will leak if left lying on its side. Not sure about that 3.5 mil. tank though. The tails on your wicking will go down in there and use some of that juice space reducing the amount of liquid it is capable of holding. But I get well over 30 higher wattage Vapes of each tank. In my opinion this rdta has two major cons. First off it will leak if left on its side. Second, you cannot see what is in your tank or Reservoir. To me The Vaping Notexperience makes up for the negative issues and paired with the Nova or the Legend makes for a spiffy set up. It does not hurt to or take very much time to Google Medusa Reborn and see what the reviewers say about it.

That just wouldn't work in the environment I work in. I am a powder coater by trade, way too much dust for an RDTA or RDA with the coils exposed to the open air..

Yeah I get it, too much particulate in the air. Had the same issue while working for a boat manufacturer. Have you considered those disposable sub ohm tanks? I have not tried them but have heard goog things about them. (Not sure which kind) but I have seen them on sale at very reasonable prices. Also if I'm not mistaken they have a plastic housing. IDK just a thought

I looked on Google and saw disposable mesh tanks 3 for $9. Not too bad if you get a week or ten days out of each one. Again just an idea.

I was firing this on my Lasimo, but would like to try it on a mech. I've only ever used one dual battery mech and that was a Noisy Cricket. Scared the piss out of me. I calculated it at 4.2v...nube mistake. That was 4 years ago.

I'm still a little confused about parallel and series calculations, but want to learn.

This So Horney RDA throws some HUGE clouds full of flavors. It's time to find a Mechanical match for it.

Thinking maybe a stacked mech?

Holy hell thats a lot of coils, three stories high, two wide. I’d never be able to deal with that. I’m far too lazy to strum them claptons to get out hotspots and pull all that wicking. That’s all I got, good luck on your journey for knowledge.

First time I hit it was on 150w with 2mg 85VG, I was in love! I've only used 0mg with it since, but the cloud and flavor are AMAZING!

About breaking glass tanks,, I have a Griffin 22mm I love,,, but vape band are ugly & I don't think they offer much protection. So while on vacation at a trinket store I picked up a mans ring,, omg, it fit,,,size 13 i think,,, when I got home i put dabs of silicone inside the ring and let it dry. Next day I got a work out putting that ring on my glass,,, it works very well! Sure I had to use a blade to trim back the silicone,,, but it worked as an internal bumper. &Since it was jewelry,, it looked good too. I was playing with it at the trinket shop because the center area spinned,,, just as those finger spinner toys came out. I still have a nice ring in my cart at Amazon that I keep thinking about $19

If your tank is too big for mens rings, find a machine shop to cut you a stainless steel ring from pipe,, then anodize it ,,,, then add the silicone as needed, just a dab in a few places,, you wont wont notice the silicone if you back cut the excess

Just ordered one...Now just waiting on it. Also bought a Vandy Vape Tripple and found a Juggernaut with an ultem (?) glass at a flea market yesterday that looks promising.

Sent from my LGL84VL using Tapatalk
The Juggerknot RTA is really good and they're impossible to find anymore so that's a good find. You can still find the mini version, but if yours has ultem it's the big original one. You should like it.

Let us know how you like the Kayfun clone
