What codes are in the ABS?
I don't know, my scanner doesn't handle abs and they didn't reveal what codes. They were supposed to use a bidirectional scanner to communicate with the abs pump but never did that part (I watched). They said they think they have a scanner that will but the guy said he wasn't sure how to use it. Instead he used his phone with some app and basically turned out the light. Started the truck, the light came right back on. They said they didn't know why. Real promising coming for a place called 'one stop' that advertises as brake and exhaust specialists. Every time I mentioned cycling the abs with the scan tool they looked confused and seemed to be more concerned with the dash light being on than properly working the pump via the scan tool. Needless to say I won't go back there.

What Scanner? Mine does not do my year but I trick it into being able to do it by fudging the VIN Code and making it think it is one year older. Gives me full capabilities of the Snap On Scanner. At least the code reader and trouble Shooter. I have never ventured further because I have always bleed the system without cycling the relays. As long as the accumulator is already full no need to and when they do a system flush they do not do the accumulator.

It's an older Launch obdbook scanner. I wanna say a 6830? Not sure, it's discontinued (probably 7-8yrs old or more by now). It's capable of live data, standard dtc codes, code lookup, readiness monitors, clearing the cel, O2 sensor tests, evap tests. But it doesn't do abs at all. I think it was only around $180 or so back when I bought it and there's $200 scan tools now or thereabouts, $240 maybe at the low end that are bidrectional and do abs. Not necessarily compatible with what I need but scan tools have come aways in the better part of a decade. Back when I worked at the shop I just used their modis which was a much more capable bidirectional scanner.

I'm not 100% positive on this truck, most info I've found says an automated abs bleed procedure is necessary. It definitely was on my cobalt. I could power bleed the system all day long and the shit was still spongy until I ran the abs procedure. Just figured this truck was the same way. The modis or solus are great but $$$$. With the modis I could damn near remote operate any part of the vehicle, fuel pump, windows, abs, tpms or anything else. I think the shop picked one up used along with several adapters for like $8k off ebay, was a pretty good deal. Just out of my price range. I still don't think the shop did that which irks me on principle. I asked ahead of time 'oh yea, we can do that yea yea'.. then come to find out it's some podunk shop that probably didn't even have the scantool to do it. And a brake shop no less.

At the time my scanner was a good deal for me, did what I needed which was the ability to kill cel lights and reset everything, watch the readiness monitors prior to emissions inspections. The shop had a full scanner if I needed one but 90% of the time I was readying cars for emissions. It freed up the modis for more involved diagnostic work in the shop while I was hitting the highway.

Just had a friend asking me yesterday doesn't that scare you? I told him NO because I do not believe the Fake News and Propaganda spread by BT and BP. Gave him a lesson about the Master Settlement Agreement and how it is the reason for the Anti Vaping Nazis and how JUUL is the reason for the save the children crusade.

I have family that keeps on trying to get me to quit vaping because of how “bad” it is. But then I tell them how it’s all from THC carts and kids getting juice from the streets. Then when I tell them the ingredients in my juices (I don’t diy yet I buy) They go quiet. Plus I always bring up how bad cigs are and the ingredients in them. Then they shut up

Yes, when I tell someone who I know exactly what is in my e-Liquid because I male it myself usually shuts them up. Then I go into how the Royal College of Medicine studied it and declared it 95% safer and the reasoning behind why it is only 95%.

Find conversation like the one below usually works out well.

A: "Don't do [X], it's bad for you."
B: "Are you the one doing it?"
A: "No."
B: "Do you have empirical evidence it harms you?"
A: "No."
B: "So then, ..."

Of course there are always still some who don't "get it" and you need to resort to "STFU".

Yeah I do do that. My father in law keeps trying to get me to go back to smoking cigarettes... I keep telling him how terrible smoking is and how vaping is 95% better for you. But he thinks he knows everything. Plus he watches the news and buys into the whole “vaping is killing people” trend.

There is so much Anti Vaping BS on the News or in the Papers we must remember they mean well and want the best for us but it is just Misinformation and blatant lies.

I am really trying to comprehend how one would forget such a thing? I apologize but when people put a knife, sword to my throat, I do not forget them, or their actions. Even if they are ones I once called friends. Time for me does not matter because it is for me usually the same day every day, the same shit every day, day in and day out.

I admit that I do have some minor defects which give me this "rosey" view of life. I try not to use those defects as excuses though because the rest of the world does not. To give you an example regarding that, ... I went through the process of filing for disability.

I had gotten denied, appealed twice and it went to arbitration with a "judicial administrator" because we no longer have "judges". Well, arbitration called for the STATE(local & Federal) to have a physician, psychologist on hand to better understand Kallmann's Syndrome, what I deal with life long. The physician blurted out they could not see how I had managed to do even half of what I had done in my life that far given my condition. The psychologist then agreed that it seemed unlikely.

My wife waited but told the lawyer I had, "nobody told him he wasn't supposed to do that stuff, or if they did he told them to go hide and watch him." Being clear I served in the military, I did live hang of chickens, I have helped slaughter hogs (I'm an all out and about country boy. There's lots of rough and tumble stuff I've gotten into, lot's I'm sure others have I missed, or some they missed.) I've also ran with rescue squad as an e.m.t, done rounds as a c.n.a, scrubbed floors, been out digging latrine ditches. Yep, done a bit of everything. If I've not, likely it wasn't worth the doing. *chuckles*

The live hang of chickens is up there with hell cat jumping to fight forest fires as one of the most dangerous jobs to do. I've even done some fire fighting. I've looked down the barrel of a loaded weapon pointed squarely at my forehead, dared them to fire. I've jumped over 253 feet down into 8 feet of water just for giggles, was not suicidal, it was just "something" there to do. That follows the whole Mohamed climbing the mountain. Why did he? Because it was there.

My point is I don't make excuses. I'll run you through instead. That's me, that is how I was brought up to see life, to live it. I believe we all ought to live life, let others live theirs. Currently I am kind of stuck because well life has gotten to a finite point where there's no work open.

Sure I could go work as "crew" in a fast food place again. I'm too old though, they don't want me doing that and shaming the teens they hire to avoid paying insurance. They don't want me doing it and becoming an "inside"/"unofficial" manager that leads a crew to run damn fine, clean place to eat, good food, excellent service, constant up selling, turning large profit margins. I've done it too, rolling $1,000 orders per hour and "calling them".

Besides that minimum wage and shitty hours is not really 'decent" work, not when you can get fired for no reason at all at any time. And I know fuck having a "career" any more, you're lucky to find a Just Over Broke, job. Then, you can add two or three of those to maybe make half the ends meet. Yeah, sure I will.

That's me. I don't forget others that don't get to my level. I can reach out and help them come along. I can pull my hand back too, keep going on my way. I can forgive and that's all fine and well. Forgetting though is different.

It is especially so when one holds a blade to your throat. You tend to not forget it. When someone lies and that lie is the same as a blade, forgetting won't happen. No, it's all the same day and same shit, every day, day in, day out. Really ought to be used to it by now, reckon I still care too much.

That I am not sure about

but just recently I heard 2 or 3 Cigarettes a Day is just as Bad as a Pack or more.
Smoking Kills whether or not you inhale~!

cigars are far worse, no filter that collects at least some of the crap.

this right here is a big load of crap, exactly the same as vaping is bad. thats like saying 2 beers is just as bad as 20 beers. and beer is just as bad even if you don't swallow. think about it. not directed at you Steve, directed at whomever you heard it from.

they used to say that "light and ultralight" cigs were just as worse as regulars. this is also a big fat line of crap.
i smoked ultralights for decades. once in a while i would bum a regular. they were far stronger.

we, as vapers, need to be polite and educate. being a dick just makes them think vapers are dicks.
if someone is a know-it-all, i just say "ok, whatever, you will learn the truth someday", with a smile.

With many of the hard headed ones who will not listen I tell them to actually research it themselves and get back to me. One time a buddy was just trying to relate what he saw on TV the night before so I took my Pixel 2 XL and did a quick search. Showed him that what he saw not even 12 hours before was already debunked and proven false. I love to see the look on peoples faces when they realize they watch Fake News~!

Not abuse or misuse think of Cloud Vapers. Big inhales. At least in my opinion.
I remember when I smoked newports I tried the Marlboro menthol lights and I smoked 10times more cuz I wasn’t getting enough nic.

my brother in law is one of those big cloud vapers. He’ll inhale to the point I think he’s going to burn out his coil just to make big clouds. Are you even vaping bro? I wouldn’t be able to taste juice at all doing that.

Or I’d get a major head rush

I can agree up to a point. When people start pushing their views down your throat though, sorry I kind of lose sight of politeness. And if you look with government, media all carrying on to ban vaping, well, it does seem views are being pushed down people's throats.

there are variables with everything. sometimes just walking away is the correct answer.

True. Then, sometimes one needs to stand their ground too. I am kind of doing both in two different situations respectively, and not conflating the two. Apologize if my earlier statements may have seemed indicative of conflation happening. I can see both situations clearly, and act on both differently in their own respective ways as well.

On the one matter I am in fact walking away. Made a mistake in friend choosing. That happens I suppose. There's others to befriend though. :)

Yeah, it sure is chilly I just checked and it is 44° and Rain in the Forecast for this afternoon. So much for Detailing my vehicle this morning.
Yeah it’s cold! And we’re going to the pumpkin patch today. Hope we don’t get rained on.

sorry you can’t detail your car

I detail my truck every couple of weeks regularly so not like it's filthy but I noticed my windshield needs cleaning. I keep a couple of Microfiber cloths under the seat so when I go out later I will probably give it a quick going over~!

Good morning everyone!!

I hope everyone had a great day yesterday! We didn’t go to the pumpkin patch yesterday because of rain. Instead we got pumpkins from Walmart and my kids and my nieces and nephews all painted and decorated their pumpkins! All the kids had a blast! I was exhausted after everyone left. Slept great though!

Everyone have a great day and vape on!
