Man, I hope @gadget! didn't get screwed over by this dick.
:kickbutt:

edit: Just saw bx10r say he got his trade, so I guess this guy was just a lying thief 90% of the time?
Pretty much. The last time, he did a bunch of good deals to start. Then the Steve incident happened and things went south from there.

Remember when he told @R3alJim Shady that the package he got from him was empty and then started telling @DonBaldy that he had not gotten his packages even though it said they were delivered? Ya I was starting to call BS then but I couldn't be sure. Then when we all started posting his packages magically showed up ( okay, sure we all know that happens sometimes) but I think he decided not to continue the story because Don was on it an had alerted the post office.
Luckily he only got me for about $15 in clone stuff. Won't be doing deals with any newbies again for sure.

Never thought jojo was here to rip off anyone, just a little slow, but I can relate,
Damn rotten apples. Everybody is new in the beginning, my first deal here was a trade. Always hate to see a scammer.
My first deal here was with @gadget!, I did have a good rep over on ECF before leaving that forum but he still took a chance.

I agree, this is a good place with good people and I think we all feel it when some pos comes in and scams one of us

Don't think he was interested in scamming you for your circa 2012 gear
:giggle::giggle:
(I only make that joke because you poke fun at yourself for the gear. Screw anyone who doesn't like it, as long as you do)
LOL actually most of it is circa 2016 gear :)
2017 for the squonk stuff.
When your byline is "The Frugal Vapist" scammers do not seem to be drawn to you

It is like gambling, spin the wheel and some times you win. I won....
I think most everyone won, this time. But that’s how it started last time. Good deals and trades. Then.....shit hit the fan. I’m just so happy no one got totally reamed this time.

Honestly I was kinda leery of the guy for no particular reason.
The mod saving balls story did not quite ring true to me.
Seems like the mod ding would be a bit more jagged to me...
but far be it from me to call a vet out unless I am darned sure.

Was that a mod he was trying to sell?

So, can he come in under a different ip? Not that hard to use a proxy. I will be curious to see if I hear from him, although I guess I wouldn't as he only has my address and not my email

I doubt it. He actually does have my email from when he was Brophmantooth so we’ll see.

And I guess he could? Maybe?

No. I think it was just a story.

I specifically remember him saying that he'd never sell that mod, so it probably would have been up in the hardware thread soon had @wildgypsy70 not busted him

Then the Steve incident happened and things went south from there.

No it wasn't a "Steve" incident~! I tried to help a friend in need because the thief supposedly wanted to PIF a MOD. But he started lying and saying it was shipped and his vehicle broke down and blah, blah blah. Then he accused me of trying to RIp him off when all I did was introduce the two together. So I exposed the scammer by proving he was outright lying. I was not getting anything out of the deal except maybe a good feeling helping a friend.

@Teresa P actually sent her something which she is/was externally grateful for.

All I remember is that you were involved and that it was the beginning of the downward slide for Brophmantooth. No insult intended.

I guess I missed the story about his junk nearly getting blown up. I don't care who ya are, scamming people ain't cool. If that's where this was going to lead again, and it was super familiar territory with his posting, then we're all better off. Times are tough enough for everyone for someone to be preying on the community.

Of course that goes both ways as I have his. :)

Exactly. Have I been taken a few times? You bet and I have fallen for the sob stories when they were not true and chances are I will again. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and I also tell myself if they screw me, then I guess they needed it more than I and someday, somehow, at some point they will pay for it. I will still be the person that I am, nothing is going to change that. There are still way too many good people out there. Let the bad apples fall, they rot and wither away eventually. :)

You have friends? :giggle:

In all seriousness, good for you for exposing him the first time. It's a shame he had the balls to come back a month later
