Congratulations...that's awesome. I believe you said you were 41 with two grand babies? I am 39 and my wife (32) will be having a baby in June!!! Heaven help us!!! :) I have an 18 yo in college, a 3 yo and soon to be newborn. I hope my I can hold up...lol.
Yep I started young and my now 22 yr old started at 16! My youngest is 8, middle child 14. Try having to get 2 children and a Granbaby to school with a new born. If I can do it you can. You'll be fine, but tired at times. Congrats to you and your wife! Children are a blessing. I love having conversations with them. It's amazing how their brains think.

From my experience this affects a mix less than most. But all nicotine affects flavor, and obviously the higher nic the more nicotine. Some vape shops do taste testing with zero nic, which I always thought was a waste of time, because mixes tasted so different once you added nic!
I recall Huck saying she had difficulties working w aceytl pyrazine and nic. I was lucky to chose vaportek my first time and no issues.

Why do the flavor companies hate me? I've done nothing to them.

The ecig express order that I was told would go out on Friday, didn't. When it did go out it was short a flavor (I have gotten a credit).

I ordered nic and a bottle of German Flavor from Vapers Tek. It arrived promptly, but I should have taken a better look at that little bottle before tonight. It's not a GF anything. It's an Inawera banana. o_O I'm not a fan of banana vapes. At all. I've emailed them offering to return the nanner and asking for my strawberry cream.

Why do they hate me?

I am 1 of the unlucky ones who can taste nic at any mg lol so it really doesn't matter where I get it from. And AP smells awful to me also tastes way strong to me so I avoid mixes with it included.:( I am going to make a few recipes using just the pg/vg no nic, I can vape them in between the tobaccos with nic:D

It's unique how different everyone's pallets can be. I sympathize w your frustration. I've tried different pg/ vg companies to try to get my husband to quit smoking, but to him it all leaves a burnt dirty sock aftertaste.

Thanks Dana but I'm OK. I just happen to like that one as a one flavor mix.

I transfer all the flavorings I use most into the little 3ml Pure Vapes bottles. Those I know are 0.5% per drop for 6mls - makes it really easy to make up samples! If I like it I make up flavoring bases (thanks, HIC!), and then I only have to use 1 syringe to make larger amounts.
Yay! I can use something tonight!

Dixie, was that you looking vanilla tobacco a while back? If so, you might enjoy FA's Maxx Blend (this is a favorite for several of this crew).

I have tried Maxx and to me it is ok stand alone but I think it will also work in tobacco mixes. I taste a bit of maple in the background, but then my taster is weird.o_O

I taste that, too, Dixie. Depending on the (brand and strength) nic I use and how long it sits, I can taste honey, maple, caramel, or a combo.

Hello club members! :) One year ago today I had my last cigarette on my way to local B&M where I picked up an Ego-T with a cheap clearo and a bottle of 555 for $40. I'd say it was money well spent even though the juice was horrible and I could have got the hardware for half price online. :p

I just wanted to share, so I'll also share a recipe that I've been enjoying lately. It's for those that aren't afraid of the dark. ;) @Edd bet you'd like this one.

Off to Never-Never Land
Dark Vapure 1%
Maxx Blend 1%
Cuban Supream 0.5%
Virginia 0.5%
Coconut 0.5%
Papaya 0.25%

Needs to steep for a couple weeks for the papaya to meld in and the sweetness of the maxx to come out.

It's been 3 days lol long as I could stay out of it. It's already awesome. It would seem you have tamed that dark vapure into pure deliciousness.

As I mix up DIY batch #2 (of all time) I am starting to think more about storing batches and (especially) about warm-water-bath steeping batches--in glass as opposed to plastic.

I have only the very cheapest plastic bottles in 10 & 15ml sizes (aside from those I store the nic solution in, which are made of amber glass) and find myself wondering about out-gassing.

Any thoughts/experience on this? (And please, of course, point me to the place I should've seen before--where this was already discussed--if I missed it!).

Anything I'm going to either put in the crockpot or make a large batch of for myself (more than 30mls) I put in glass. But if you think about it many vendors use plastic. I just wouldn't subject plastic to heat. All my flavors are stored in the plastic bottles they came in.

I offer no scientific evidence to support my views on this but I'm in the same camp as Amanda. I don't use plastic in the microwave either even if it indicates it is okay to do so.

That is probably smart. So far, I've only subjected my mixes (all two of them) to relatively cool hot water baths for short periods. I heat some water to the point that it's "a little too hot to keep my finger in there, but doesn't actually burn me" (that's my half-assed 150 degrees) and leave the bottle in a mug with that until the water comes to room temperature. But it has been plastic bottles, as that's all I have to work with at the moment.
Emilie recommended a good place to buy glass bottles... I guess it's time to spend more money!

I wouldn't worry overly much. I have a bad habit of forgetting I've got something in the crockpot and leaving it overnight, so glass is probably safer for that!

I am totally off of cigs now - whew! I had made a bit of 36mg 2% Cuban Supreme in case of cravings but It was way too strong lol. I decided to cut it in half with non nic base. Then I thought well I could mix some new flavoring into it... I had just tried NN Honey Tobacco and liked it as much as Cuban Supreme with a nilla added. So I mixed up 1% Cuban Supreme and 0.5% NN Honey Tobacco - call it Honey Supreme. OMG I love this:p:D it is my new all day vape:)

Did I miss something here about Wizard Labs having CAP & TFA 8ml. for $1.49? I'm so stupid I ordered a bunch from WL then ordered some from TFA 4ml. $1.49, Oh well, added 29 new flavors for a total of 150. Now I just need to vape them all.

OK I dont post alot because it seems like most of the things I like there are already recipes for. I decided to try an Apple Cinnamon Custard starting with @wllmc custard base for the Anise custard he shared. I hope everyone enjoys and if you have suggestion please let me know. I still have issues getting the apple but a couple of the guys at work say all they get is apple and cinnamon but no custard.

4% CAPS vanilla custard
4% CAP Irish Cream
3% FA apple pie
3% FA Cinnamon
1% FA cookie
2% TFA vanilla swirl

If you want more apple flavor for yourself, maybe drop the Apple Pie to 1.5 or 2 and add Fuji @ 1-2%? If you like the Fuji, you might even drop the Apple Pie, unless you want the crust flavor. I like the recipe, Oggy! Thanks for sharing it.

Hit a milestone yesterday. Emptied my first flavor bottle!
The 3 mL sample of Cuban Supreme from Pure Vapes. Already have a 30mL replacement.
@Oggy , I'm in a love affair with Irish Cream and I have a tank full of Anise Custard right now. Maybe I'll add a drop when I get it vaped lower

I think my 3ml Vienna Cream from Pure Vapes was the first flavoring bottle I drained completely. Then a 10ml from somewhere else, so yep, moved up to 30ml bottles.

I think you'll like Irish Cream in that custard - good idea!

I've been really impressed with FA Fuji, but I still use Apple, too. With both of those I've replaced the other (brands of) apple flavors I used to like. Mostly Apple with a little Fuji replaced my FW Double Apple (and tastes better to me). Fuji with sometimes a little Lime Cold-Pressed and/or Kiwi makes a tart green apple. Fuji with sweet flavors appeals to me a lot; it's not a flavor that gets washed-out by others. Plain apple tastes like ordinary Red Delicious apple juice to me (supposedly it's Golden Delicious) and tends to be a background flavor - sometimes that's ideal, like with mild juice blend flavors. A little Pear with Apple tastes like an Asian Pear. A little Liquid Amber makes cider. I haven't yet made a Jolly-Rancher-green out of FA, but some of my recent experiments with other fruit flavors have convinced me it's possible.

@HeadInClouds I originally bought a 30 mL bottle of FW Red Apple that I tested yesterday to see if it would work with Liquid Amber for your Apple Cider and luckily it does. I have both FA versions now as well but I want to find ways to use up the Flavor West so this post is most helpful.

I'm looking at this and at the wllmc Anise Custard, too. They both sound yummy. But have only FA Custard and some TFA Vanilla Custard. I thought about using them both, here, but I realized I haven't seen any recipes that include both FA Custard with TFA or CAPS custard. What do people think about blending them? Are they two totally different animals? Do they play nice together?

Didn't even think of that @Oggy, but that's a great idea for like those rts vials. And the price is right. I had a 72 baseball display case that recently got upgraded, so I just put a card table under it and flavoring storage problems solved!

I checked out the site you mentioned, Oggy: http://ecigdisplays.com --excellent prices & thanks for posting that. Unfortunately, they are all out of glass 30ml bottles at the moment. I sent an email asking them to let me know when they get them back in. I also inquired about whether they have something that might work for storing and displaying 10ml flavor bottles in a practical way--a way that let's you see the labels. The closest thing I found was this, which would definitely be better than my current system, but I'd prefer something with individual slots so that it could be moved easily without sliding around.
