MAH vs Amps question

so far I’ve only bought two sets of batteries, and knock on wood they are going strong for almost a year. I charge using nitecore with high amp charging.

But my question is about batteries themselves, is it better to get more MAH or Amps?

I noticed with higher amps mah is dropping, and lower amps higher mah. So I’m confused what route is the best. Planning on going with hohm and in the 18650’s.

My newest and 3rd set which I recently bought was hohm run XL 21700 and they are great.

Depends on how many amps/watts you normally vape at.
Vape lower wattage get something like VTC6A or 30Q. both good up to ~ 50-60W.
Vape higher wattates get a higher amp lower mah cell like a VTC5A.

mah is capacity (storage) of batt, Amps would be max discharge rate. But I would look at batt specs of your battery to be sure.

That kind of depends on how you vape. If you're a high wattage vaper, then you should go with batteries rated with a high amp rating to get the most out of your batteries. If you use low amp batteries in this situation, it will drain them faster, and you will get serious battery sag when it's at about 50%

If you are a low wattage vaper, like me, then the high mAh will give you a longer battery life, and you won't suffer that battery sag when the batt gets low.

THIS!

The harder you drain a battery the less MAH it will produce.
A 20 amp 3000 mah cell used at 20 amps may only produce 2000 mah.
however a 2500 mah 25 A cell drained at 20 amps may produce more mah than the 3000 mah cell at the same current draw.

What mod and what setup are you using?

You mentioned it was a 21700 mod. Which one?

Does it use 2 batteries or one?

I'm guessing it's regulated which means you'll have more room to play with with 21700 batteries. Especially if it's 2 batteries and a lower power setup.

Why do you want to go with 18650 if it will use 21700?

Also, what country are you in? That might matter as to where you can get your batteries from.

I’m getting new batteries for an 18650 device. So I’m wondering which is best, I do not vape at crazy high wattage.

But doesn’t it mean the higher amp batteries will last longer regardless with no sag

Most high amp batteries are better for mechs because people want more power and just sacrifice the lasting part and bring extra batteries to work. I usually take 3 sets to work. I know I won't use them all but you never know. I like the molicel's P26A for 18650. But I'm sure there are longer running batteries out there. If you ever have a battery question just Google what battery it is then type "Mooch" behind that. He is the battery guy that does all the testing for us vapers. Most labels used to be false advertisements. He tests them and posts the true ratings of the batteries. Like some wraps say 40amp 18650. I don't believe there is one 18650 in existence that rates that high. But as far as other brands. Samsung, Sony, molicel, Sanyo are about the only batteries I really trust. I have a few ijoy 20700 but those came with mods that I bought as packages.
