The final vote to ban the use of eCigarettes in public is happening January 20th, 2015. The ordinance proposes to ban all OUTDOOR vaping in downtown Boulder including side-streets, alleys and patios, all city parks, all open space, all multi-use bike paths, and 25 ft from all RTD bus stops (see map below for details of downtown area). This ban will affect anyone who vapes and shops, or eats downtown. Anyone who works at a boutique, bar, restaurant, or office. Any vaper who hikes, or takes their dog for a walk in open space, anyone who waits for a bus, or anyone who drives that bus.
Everyone’s time is valuable and no one has much to spare, but now is the time to step forward and put voice to our rights. If we don't make an effort to keep vaping legal in public, the repercussions will include tickets, fines, potential jail time, and once again being treated as pariah, with no where indoors or out to vape. “The maximum penalty for a first or second offense within two years is a fine of $500; a third and subsequent conviction within two years triggers the general penalty provision of a maximum $1,000 fine and/or maximum of 90 days in jail.” - Proposed 2015 Ordinance
The O.E.D. named "Vaping" Word-of-the-Year for 2014. Lets make 2015 the year we keep vaping legal in public.
