I forget who it was maybe it was Rocco who said................... If he didn't have dented batteries he wouldn't have any batteries. My RX200S had round Negative Posts and drops did the same thing to mine. Used them for years and still have them. But when it come to batteries if in doubt throw them out~! (RECYCLE)

Those are dented for sure ;)

As for their safety... rule would be pass, you're subjecting yourself to harm over $25 (4 new 30Ts shipped)

Now I'm not afraid to use them...but there is a major caveat

If the positive was dented, that is some serious shit to be careful of... remember the distance of a battery actually hard shorting is only the distance from the positive post to the batteries edge.

If using these in a mech... do not put the negative to the atomizer regardless of the orientation protocol lol

I'd also give the person you bought them from some shit

I'm in the same boat as @SteveS45
I've dropped mods and dented the bottoms. I still use them.
Is this the written rule to get away with it? NO!
But i always rewrap when needed and as @~Don~ says, don't use if the tops are smashed in.

Ok so I was $2 off of what 4 new shipped would run ;)

Didn't look for a discount code, but even if there was one, it probably be 5% max or $1.35

Also, on the XXX, no need to crank down on the mod to secure the section... and there will always be a slight gap even with the added beauty ring in the middle...

Snug is all

Not saying this was self inflicted, BUT... if it was... snug, not tight ;)

Well I guess I should answer the cleaning of the contacts also...

On the XXX it should have silver plated contacts... you can reach in like Bogan does in this snap shot

Press and hold the button, use your tweezers to unscrew, reverse to install...

hi5!

while i agree that these are not optimum, i do feel they are safe. as i am sure there is some wiggle room in there. now, the tops, i ain't fucking with those. if i did cause the dents, then normal usage causes dents. i have not dropped one, and i do not over tighten. thought getting them in the PURGE is kinda tight, i do use care. and i do put the pos to the 510. Don, i figured out the lock ring before i started using it :).

hi5!

i was referring to the contacts of the batteries. but thanx for that pic, my XXX does not look like that. i wonder if @gsmit1 's XXX looks like that one, cause that looks easy to get loose. mine, nope.

hi5 ! lol

Well I was referencing the dented side up towards the 510...on shallow pin rdas the divot/dent can equal that distance and short.

You have the common sense to know if they are dented to far to use safely, just know there is more to the battery than just the can dent.

How the chemical ions are separated is by fractions of a mm, and can cause the dendite formation I think that’s what it’s called, been a while since I looked at photos of the inners of liion batteries...and well get hot during use

In any case, small indents aren’t bad, concave dents and dents on the side of cans and positives are.

Be rad!

i think the designers knew that these were going to get dented, and left some room for such. and i bet the pos end has somesuch also, but this end, they can do only so much.

I have been wrapped up all day and still am. I will do my best before the end of the night to take a closer look at the pics and see if I can get some from my XXX.

They don't display correctly on my phone, but from what I can see I think the pic Don posted is from the VC tech switch.

I'm not up to pictorial presentation tonight to be honest, but the ring is to hold the tube solid once the correct tension is reached on the battery. I'm sure you knew that. You only need to snug the switch down enough to have no battery movement and maybe a hair more. I use the tips of my fingers and just nudge it past where it touches a couple times and then back the ring off pretty tightly against the switch. I haven't had any problems with mine. Same with the stacked piece. It shouldn't be tightened any more than that.

As for the Comp-S switch being not the same as the VC Tech switch. Navigate to 4:59 in the video,
