So this is a thread for the Damn Vape RDA. That’s to fellow member Kingpin for helping me remember the name of it. Anyway it is an interesting design for keeping your wicking and mesh strip in constant contact and has a greatly reduced chamber which should promote good flavor. It seems like an innovative design from a company I’ve never heard of Damn Vape. Well I’m hoping some VU members have used this RDA and can let me know what they think of it. On paper it should be a flavor banger and capable of a nice restrictive hit that I prefer. Unfortunately on paper and real world don’t always jive so I’m hoping for some opinions so I know if I should spend my hard earned cash on a proper flavor banging RDA or avoid the over engineered, seemed like a good idea, most recent flop of an RDA. So if you’ve used this one please share your thoughts on its performance or anything else you’ve come to find out about it.

I like it. Flavor comparable to Unity RTA - easier to wick, no leaking or seeping, good machining. I also like the size - that bottom section is 25mm to fit most mods, then at the AFC riing and up is 26mm to keep it from being tall while holding ample juice. Good looking RTA.

The Doom looks innovative also but this thread is about the Damn Vape Intense RDA. But thanks for bringing the Doom to my attention as well as the deal. @Vape Fan, any chance you’ve also tried the Intense RDA?

Just looking at it rooster I’d note several things mate

1. being that reduced unless you vape at low wattages it’ll have a tendency to heat up the whole atty, hopefully you won’t notice it with the tall drip tip

2. the compress part doesnt look like it has a whole lot of room near the cap edges so cotton might need be a be thin near the mesh itself ...not sure how this affects wicking properties? I could be wrong here

3. again “if” cotton is thin.... the compress is plastic that bothers me a little with melting in case of firing too hot, dry firing with it too close, or mod accident pressing button when not meaning to ...had the same issue with Beserker RDA even at 20W...edit: hmm actually is it ceramic?, if so less concerned

4. airflow is one sided, that takes getting used to it isn’t for everyone (not sure how you feel on that aspect?)...kind of affects sensory perception as you inhale for a bit at least, the ones I’ve tried one sided have for me until I get used to it ...they prefer gentle draws

5. speaking of draw it’s gonna be tight mtl territory...they do market it as such, if that’s what youre after great

I could be wrong on all this as this is going by looks alone :)

You make some great points and I’m hoping some people have tried this so I can hear what they think. I like a restricted pull and vaping in the 30-40 watt range. I take pulls that average around 2 seconds so I don’t think it will get too hot. I am worried about the wicking being too thin in between that block and the mesh. I’m not sure on how much room is there but it seems thin which has me worried about dry hits. I use rayon so maybe that will help but who knows. There is a lot going on with this rda that’s why I’m hoping for some real world opinions. Seems like it could fit my style of vaping and I may have to be the guinea pig here because it seems like not many have tried this or even knew the name based on my question trying to find this rda in the first place. Well I’ll see what I can find out about it and given some time maybe more people will chime in. Seems like some good ideas on this rda but real world application is a whole different story.

Yeah, after he gave the Reload S a rating of 3 because he felt it copied the Recurve, I don't care for his opinion, really. I trust djlsb and pbusardo, that's about it

I interpret what he says, but when he likes something it is usually good....

I can see a dual coil in that.
w/o a block, mesh and af the other side with wick in the middle.
I like that idea, wick in the middle and have a screw system that could tighten the mesh and put pressure on the wicking. It could be the Damnvape Really Intense or Intense 2, I’m still looking for some real world use from fellow VU members, which by the way are the reviewers I trust the most, with Vic and that Scandinavian fellow being two that make good points but I prefer written reviews over videos anyway. I’d have this one if I didn’t spend so much over the holidays. I’m trying to be frugal and save up for one more nicotine purchase before the shit hits the fan this spring.

Well I finally ordered the Intense after revisiting the reviews today and found a decent price for the rda and the mesh. I was wondering if any of y’all have used this one yet. If so please let me know what you think. I ordered from China (2fdeal) so it’s gonna be a few weeks minimum although it says us direct 9-16 days so I may get it in under a month which would be great. My first order from there so this will be first impression of them. Anyway I’ll let y’all know what I think and if any of you fine folks have tried the Intense let me know what ya think.

Ok I got my intense rda yesterday and so far I’m a little disappointed. Super easy to build, airflow works nicely for a tight mtl up to a nice restrictive pull but the flavor leaves much to be desired. Seems a little muted, not terrible just not what it should be. I’m gonna try building it again with less cotton and see what that does. Besides the flavor not being up to snuff everything else is a win. So I’m hoping a build tweak will help and will report back if it does.

I eagerly await your results as I’m very interested to find out about the flavour on this one. It seems to have many pro’s for my vaping style but if the flavour is muted then that’s a huge deal breaker for me. Thank you and all the best with it.

Ok so I rebuilt it and the flavor is much better. It may have had something to do with too much cotton but I think the culprit was cross contamination. I had a squonker that was sitting for several months and I left juice in the bottle. It was super dark and I got lazy and rinsed it with water before filling it up. I should have used my everclear like I normally do because that did the job. Flavor is most important to me also and I think you’ll like this one. Few things to look out for are the top cap gets hot if you chain vape so lookout. I switched to a glass drip tip which doesn’t get hot. I didn’t try the stock one but it’s shorter than my glass one which helps distance you from the heat. Also when I first got it I primed it up nicely but started getting dry hits after several pulls. I noticed the Squonk bottle was hard to push and it took me a minute to realize it comes with the solid pin installed so if you use it on a squonker switch out the pin first. Come to think of it the cotton was scinged a little bit when I rebuilt it which may have been the cause of my initial flavor complaint. Anyhow I’m a fan now and will be using this one in my rotation for the time being. If your on the fence I’d say give it a go because it’s really quite nice.

Thank you for letting us know how you got on and I am glad to hear that you sorted out the flavour problem. I must admit that I am terrible for chain vaping and I don’t like a hot vape but like you said changing the drip tip to something longer and that doesn’t conduct heat would help. I have never used mesh before but this looks quite forgiving compared to some of the other rebuildables out there and I may well pull the trigger in the not too distant future. Thank you again.

I also dislike a hot vape and that’s not the problem. The thing is the top part that spins to select airflow is thin metal and therefore heats up easily. The longer drip tip helps to keep you away from that top piece that gets hot. Not that big an issue really and doesn’t cause the vapor to be overly hot just something I thought I’d point out.

I received my intense rda and I’m having trouble wicking it. I sick I, it soaks up juice nicely, but a few hours later I can taste and that cotton is starting to burn. I’ve tried the CTC tight and loose, but can’t seem to keep it going or get decent flavour out of it. Any tips? I’m feeling a bit disappointed currently.

I’m sorry I don’t have any tips. I stopped using mine after a few rebuilds because I wasn’t getting the same flavor I get with my squonkers and even my subohm tank. I was using 50/50 juice so maybe your juice is higher in vg causing wicking problems. Mine was ok just not as good flavor as I was used to. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
