One off design, quality, materials, warranty... whole 9

To me, I can't fathom spending that much... I'd love to own it... but yeah, I use my knives

My absolute most expensive knife to date is my CRK Inkosi at $390, followed by my CRK Sebenza 21 at $320... once my Sebenza 31 is ready, that will be the most expensive at $475

I think my most expensive knives to date are the Hinderer with M390 at $340 and the Hogue Doug Ritter with M390 at $285. The Problem I'm having is that there is a little devil around here (YAH, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!!) that keeps pointing other knives.....like I needed help ot sumptin. I mean, I found that Inkosi all by mu stupid self:headbang:

My 2 CRKs are...carry them daily...

When I was in the field (HVAC) I had a fixed blade for daily use.

i just don't have a need for a expensive knife. hell, all i used mine for is opening packages. before i took pics of it i had to clean the tape goo off the blade, lol. i'm thinking about how to go about selling mine, i have not on ebay in 20 years. but maybe put it up with a reserve and a buy it now. it does look nicer than the one that just sold for $125. so if i get $150 for it, i think i would be happy. then i could buy a under $50 knife and some vape shit, lol.

the one that just sold had a black blade, mine is natural. in the blade world, what difference does this make ?

Most are not, some are " Sunday Go To Meeting" and one or two (the ones above mentioned) are Christmas and New Year.
The one I've been carrying every day for the last two weeks is a Kershaw Dividend with a M390 blade ($80). Before that I was rotating between three Sanrenmu Land 910 series ($28 each) with Sandvik blades.

Looks like a Sebenza knock off? Looks like a good deal ($21.50 on Amazon). Reasonably well made? Must be if you have 3 of them.

As long as you pay attention at blade metal, some are 8cmrv (whatever) the ones I have are 12c27 (not sure of the letters but the numbers 12***27 are right). I think the 9103/4 are a better value, they are all metal frame lock and caged bearings. The g10/plasticky handled ones are liner lock. Both are a good value I just prefer the frame lock ones.
12c27 is right.

$179-$229 for 1095 Steel...but it’s so nice.

Hate liking knives that were $79 when they came out and are up to triple that now

That GEC #14 came out in late 2018

Funny thing... my Gus WHS 2.2 has always felt a little underwhelming compared to the hits I get from my other mech mods.
Swapped out the insulator and pin from some old Chi-You clone top caps I had from a planned, but never attempted, box mod build. Pretty sure it's solid silver and it's definitely giving me a fuller hit now.
(Shutup @~Don~, I can feel the difference even thought I'm vaping over 1 ohm! )

Oh yeah. I keep forgetting. I got 2 black and one of the clear SXK Xeta barrels. I've tried one black one and one clear one. The black one works fine. No change in resistance and no change in anything else either.

However, with the clear one, the thing that I greatly feared has come upon me. It's makes no connection and doesn't fire at all. You can see the tiniest gap between the chimney and the post.

Of course this should be easily fixable by lightly taking a hair off the top of the barrel. With maybe some fine emery cloth. I haven't done it yet, but it should work.

Could use some feedback.

Trying to decide between the SXK BB and the Mechlyfe Ratel XS (the brand new one, not original). Honestly if the XS offered a coil option (prefer them when traveling) it would be a no brainer. Really love that the tank is top fill.

So how bad would it be if I went the SXK BB route and used clones only? Reading that the boro clones are leaky are driving me more towards the XS. I can deal with a little mess on occasion (currently squonk a good bit) but couldn’t handle constant leaks. Wondering if subpar quality is also an issue with the bridges.

Only thing I’d really want to customize beyond how it vapes (ie RBA/bridges) would be drip tips.

Any and all feedback would be appreciated!

Reading that the boro clones are leaky
My boro clones are not leaky. :) At all. Some of the bridges can be more susceptible to leaking than others, but I've been able to keep all of my clones from leaking. Vapeshell, Crossbow, Exocet, Insider and Xeta. (I think I'm forgetting one)

In my opinion, the difference between the authentic BB and the SXK is not as great as the difference between the authentic bridges and some of the clones, though all of them can be made to vape and function at far more than an acceptable level. This is admittedly conjectural as I've only ever had cloned everything when it comes to BB stuff, but I have read ALOT of experienced user comments too.

If leaky boros is what's keeping you away from an SXK, it certainly wouldn't be for me.

No leaking boros for me either. Clones or authentics (have multiple of both), I can't tell a difference. I only use clone rba's, and they only leak if I wick them wrong.

@gsmit1 basically covered it all, but I'll throw in my 2¢.

Ive used the clone Exocet, Insider, and VapeShell. Not a leak from any of the them... dry hits are a different story They can be finicky like any RBA, but some are easier than others to wick.

I have an authentic BB, but I exclusively use SXK boros and have never had any blatant leaking. Condensation can be an issue but that's an issue with any of these AIO style devices.

I'd go with the SXK BB simply for the fact that there's so many options for RBAs and stock coils.

I have a DotAIO SE that should arrive tomorrow... I also have a few varieties of Nautilus coils coming to try as well.

I have 2 SXK BBs and several SXK boros and no leaks here. No condensation plug either. I've heard people complain about difficulty sliding the boro door open and closed but I've never had a problem with that either. Just make sure to lube the o-ring with PG.

I like and use my DotAio, but doesn't come close to passing the BB, for me anyway.

I got rid of my Bantam for it so I hope I like it better. It's not that I didn't like the Bantam but I have a thing about changing my battery before I empty my tank. It just irks me for some reason... it took me two 18350s to finish a boro.

How does it compare size wise to the BB? Pocket friendly?

I think the company that does the unbreakable windows or whatever is making some for the Boxxer. Just can't remember where I saw them!

Edit: found it! But it's OOS

Not sure what the SE is, or if mine is one, but yea, very pocket friendly. Smaller than the BB, but a tad thicker. Basically same fire button, so no pocket firing for me anyway.

Well, crap! Am I the only one whos SXK boros leaked? I was one of the first to try the SXK BB and that serves me right. I hear they are much better now.
Did they change something from then til now that you know of?

Good to know! The less expensive SE is a zinc alloy version with plastic panels. Same chip, same function, but a different look and heavier.
It looks like a matte finish in this photo but it's mirror polished on the outer edges of the frame. Worried that it's going to drive me Bonkers with finger prints... I'm thinking about putting a wrap on it but I'll test it out first to see if it bugs me as much as I think it will.

Lil time you can probably make your own poly door for the boxxer...

Just need the right thickness and just cut and sand the edges.

I’d guess you can get a small sheet from Amazon in the dimensions you need.

Fuck giving McOdiShit a penny even second hand

I take it back, not really any thicker since the panels sit flush. The rba for it is really nice, do you have that coming?

Oh even better!

I didn't get the RBA yet bc I'm waiting to see if I can get a DotShell down the road. It just bugs me that it costs more than the device. Of course, I say that and I currently have a KFL 2019 sitting on an Ehpro 101

Yeah, 40 is pricey. I got mine from Gadget with rba and extra set of panels for $60, so I was happy :)

Lol, I love the 2019. Always wanted to try an authentic but damn pricey. Plus I have 9 clones, SXK, YFTK, and Ulton, and I really have no gripe about any of them. The Ultons were only $11, and they are surprisingly really well made.

Also a big fan of the 101, but the tesla punk 86 gets more use as a regulated tube.

Oh I meant the DotShell. It's like $75 and then you have to buy the MTL pins too.

But yeah, why in the hell is the Dotmod RBA $40?! I bet it's to make up for the loss of folks buying their coils. Greedy bastards.

Yeah, probably right about making up for coil sales. I tried the one that came with it and it is good, but I won't be buying any more. Rba is fine for me. I wouldn't have bought the whole set up without that.

I've read mixed reviews on the RBA. Does it have decent flavor? Good MTL draw? If it's decent I may just pass on the DotShell but I haven't seen enough either way about the OG RBA to make a decision

Decent to good flavor, imo. For me, I rate 2019 and Asvape Zeta tops, then many that are only a touch behind but plenty good, I would put it there. Extremely easy to adjust af (even when installed), from one to four holes. I like it on two, so I would say good mtl no matter how you like it. Except maybe extremely tight, idk. The af is one of my main reasons for like.

Appreciate your insight! Everything I've seen about it is in comparison to the DotShell and it seems that most people want to put big coils in it for some reason, so the DotShell wins for them. Looks like I don't need to get spendy for once to get the vape I want. If I like the device I'll spring for the RBA. Thanks!
