Naturally-Extracted-Tobacco LLC - A TOTAL SCAM!!!

Buyer Beware!! DO NOT BUY PRODUCTS FROM THIS COMPANY. Naturally-Extracted-Tobacco LLC may very well be a scam. I ordered a sampler pack from there website 10 days ago. In the order, I paid for expedited two day shipping. Even so, it took 4 days before I received a tracking number. The tracking number indicated that the package was being prepared for shipment. Ten days later, I haven't received the package and the tracking number still indicates that it's being prepared for shipment. In the past week, I've called NET LLC's support phone number 6 times. It has always gone to voicemail. I've left 3 voicemails and have not received any return calls. I sent them an email and a message through their mobile website contact form. I have not received a response to either.

I posted this complaint to the BBB. There was one complaint posted to the BBB prior to mine and they describe the exact same experience.

Either NET LLC is a scam or it's the worst run business in the world. DO NOT BUY PRODUCTS FROM THIS COMPANY.

Went to their site, looks like a mom and pop set up.

I also noticed right away that the bottles they show are dated 2014, this would have been a red flag for me.

Either way, good luck in getting the order

Ya, it's a small operation. I didn't notice the 2014 dates in the pics - good catch. I had visited there website a year or two ago and it seems to have been expanded since that time. That coupled with the fact that its the 1st google search result for NET made me think that it was doing well as a business. I should have just made another order with Black Note.

Being a small company doesn't mean anything, the vaping industry and vaping as we know it was not created in China..it was created by thousands of small individuals building and designing mods and atties in their shops and garages...some of the most well know juice makers around started out very small....
The company you are refering to Naturally ExtractedTobacco has been around a long time, and makes some of the very best NET juices I've ever had. In fact the single best NET juice I ever tried was made by them..I've personlly called up the owner and asked questions and I found him to be very helpful...Being a small company means that if one guy has a problem it effects dramaticlly the output...it the owner gets sick, has to go to the hospital, has a family emergency ect. things come to a halt., also making NET juices is alot more involved than mixing flavorings....that does not imply that there is anything neferious or dishonoirable going on. Though the possibility does exist that they maybe are letting their customers down and ripping them off....I'd have to say that this company being around as long as it has, and having a good reputation in the vaping community, I'd caution anyone rushing to judgment on them..They have a solid and pretty long reputation of serving the vaping community honorablly and have helped set the bar high for quality NET juices.

Yep and having pictures up that are 5 years old tells me all I need to know about the focus and attention to detail of a company.
oh really? you don't have to actually bother testing the product...you just vape the labels.....cool,

I agree with your assertion about the importance and history of small companies when it comes to juice. And when it comes to any other business endeavor for that matter.

I would have to disagree with your leniency though. I am personally self employed and have been so for years. I'm a manufacturing/engineering consultant. I get at least a dozen communiques via email or phone call daily and can proudly say that I have NEVER allow my response to lapse more than 3 business days on a single inquiry. That includes times when I was at vacation, dealing with a custody trial or in the hospital. Communication is the foundation of good business. One of my closest friends owns two software companies and started one non-profit. He works 6 days a week 16 hrs/day. Even so, he always responds to phone calls, emails or text messages unbelievably fast. His average response time is faster than my family members are.

That being said, I'm an amenable person. It literally takes one minute to setup an auto-response email that will automatically respond to any inquiry and let customers know that there is a delay or bottle-neck in business. If I had received one of these emails, I would have given the company the necessary additional time.

always wanted to buy an MCR mod...they aren't still around they closed down as mech mods became less and less popular..they made beautiful mods and had a reputation for high quality and workmanship, their mods were in high demand and they didn't need my bussiness...so I ordered the mod and ...zilch...no response of when my mod was being shipped nothing...I wait...I wait...I e-mail nothing....after weeks and weeks of this I get an e-mail...the owner of the company had been forced to have an operation and had been in the hospital and was recovering, and was trying to catch up on all the orders that had been placed.....likewise I have been ripped of by vendors as well...but when I see a company that has been around as long as Cliff Packard and www.NETS has been around , and has had as many satisfied customers as he's had...I am not going to rush to write them off as a ...TOTAL SCAM, or the worst run bussiness in the world especially when juice makers across America are seriously wondering if the goverment is contemplating shutting their industry down....I understand your fustration and disappointment ..there isn't a vaper around especially the older vapers who had to deal with vendors when ALL the vendors were mom and pop companies who understand your fustration, hell I once had a juice maker rip me off for over a 100 bucks once.....and who knows maybe the wheels are coming off the train over there, but you may have been a bit over the top with the "Total Scam" remarks.....I can't count how many times over the years I've read post of people plotting to murder their mailman, because their orders kept arriving late.

Cliff is a very small operation. It doesn't take much to cause a delay if he is sick or whatever. He had problems shipping years ago of significant proportion. I placed an order and waited a month before complaining. I finally reversed my credit card after waiting a month, never got a call back or response. Six weeks later the bottles showed up. I never get an explanation. But the products were good! (Real Tobacco Extracts cold extractions are my only NET ever since)
Give him some more time - he obviously has a situation going on would be my advice. His stuff is better than most.

Your statements are exceedingly fair and measured. I greatly appreciate that you aren't making any statements of certainty such as my "IS A SCAM!!" title. I concede to your greater wisdom and am truly grateful to have dialogue with someone so level headed.

You are correct, I should have at least hedged the "IS A SCAM!!" statement. I should have at least said that it's "possibly a scam". And no, I'm not trying to be a smart-ass. Just like a legal document, one word can make all the difference.

I don't feel bad about the "or possibly the worst run business in the world" statement. It was meant to be obtuse. Though I am sorry if that wasn't self evident as I had assumed.

When I first started working as a self-employed engineering/manufacturing consultant, I made the mistake of giving customers the benefit of the doubt when it came to late payments or red-flag communication failures. In the first couple of years, this mistake ended up costing me thousands of dollars. Now that I've been at it for many years, I know that companies go out of business with very little notice all the time. This happens to the small, big, new, old and everything-in-between companies. And when they go out of business, they almost always leave tons of unpaid debts or fail to deliver on scores of paid-for products. On too many occasions, I ignored the warning signs of late-payments or red-flag communication failures only to find out later that the company had gone out of business and I had little to no hope of getting paid. I have learned since then. Now, if a company fails to meet the terms of our contractual agreement, I give them notice within 1 week of said failure. If it has not been resolved within 2 weeks, I have my lawyer send them a notice. At the three week mark, my lawyer initiates a lawsuit. Truth of the matter is, I don't see any benefit to doubt in business. That's why there are terms/agreements/contracts.

I'm actually old enough to have been one of those mom-and-pop vape juice suppliers you speak of. I'll never forget how we kept getting tossed back and forth between various civil departments because no one knew how to license/categories such a business in those early days. It was rather funny actually! We ended up dissolving the company because we could see the writing on the wall - market over-saturation with Chinese products. It was shortly after we dissolved the company that I heard about Black Note. I'm very proud to be an american and will always give my fullest support to an american company. That's why it made me very happy to come across Black Note because I knew that there business model was viable (that and the fact that I was super excited to have a REAL tobacco flavor juice). Bourbon is hand crafted here in American with it's main ingredient being something that is uniquely American - corn. Black Note is very similar - it's lovingly hand crafted here in American from something that is uniquely American - tobacco. That's why they have an inherent advantage over Chinese companies.

In addition to being biased towards american companies, I'm also the guy who loves to root for the underdog. Cliff Packard and NET fit both of these categories. I would really like him to succeed. But that doesn't mean I am going to be soft on him. Quite the opposite. What I've experienced in business leads me to believe that holding a company to higher standards is good for them. The under-dog, weather that be a small business and or an American business with cost-advantaged foreign competitors, doesn't have room for failure. Like a child, college student, or new employee, they shouldn't be coddled - it's bad for them. One of my business mentors said something that has always stuck - "in business, there's no excuse for failure - there's just failure".

Again, I want to thank you for you response. It gave me great pause for thought and made me deeply appreciative of what a complete stranger on a forum can contribute.

It worked out but not great. The package arrived last Friday. There still hasn't been any response to my phone calls or emails to NET. I received three 10ml sample bottles as per my order. I got the Red Virginia, Perique, and Turkish. All in 7mg nic, 60PG/40VG with additional extract. The Red Virginia is unremarkable. I've got a bottle of Black Note Virginia right now and it's better in my opinion (stronger and cleaner flavor profile). Though I think the Black Note might be a yellow Virginia. The Perique has an interesting flavor which is very difficult to describe. Almost like a fermented plum or fruit of some sort. The only other Perique I've tried is from Black Note which was way back in the day when they actually carried it. It was so long ago that the only thing I remember is that I really liked it. I can't say that I really like NET's Perique. The Turkish blend was rather enjoyable. Surprisingly enough, none of the three had a strong flavor profile. Part of the reason I was excited to order from NET is because they give the option of adding extra extract. Which I did for all three. Even so, the flavor profile of Black Note is as strong if not stronger on average. The final nail in the coffin is how quickly the juice gunked up my atomizers. I know that naturally extracted tobaccos gunk up coils faster than a synth e-juice but the NET bottles were just ridiculous. I use a SMOK Noord A1022 with .6 ohm mesh atomizers. I know, it's better to use a rebuild-able. I used to back-in-the-day but I got lazy. With my rig, an atomizer will last a good 4 days if I'm using a synth e-juice. With black note, it's about 48 hours. With the NET, its just a bit over 12 hours. So at $5/coil and $1/mill it ends up costing me more that $15 per day with me vaping a little less than 10ml per day. OUCH! It's safe to say that this will be my first and last order from NET.

And thank you for the welcome! I appreciate being in such fine community:wave:

That is why I gave up NETs execept for the occasional treat, they just foul up coils to quickly, even Blacknote does..Blacknote is probablly the cleanest NET I've ever tried, but the trade off is Blacknote has a more subduded flavor than most NETs I've tried...and I vape on a genisis with a mesh wick so rebuilding is more of a pain than just pulling out cotton and dry burning the coil...these days I stick to synthetic tobaccos....a pity really...lately I've been eyeing these guys thinking of giving them a shot..https://www.latabaccheria.net/en/

I was thinking about giving them a try too. Came across some rave reviews about their products. I'll post a review once I do. Hopefully it will be of a more positive nature than my NET review LOL

I have stuck with Real Tobacco Extracts after trying both Clay's and Blacknote
Clays were pretty gunky and mostly kind of "muddy" flavor profile
Blacknote was cleaner but very diluted in flavor strength (I guess they use less extract %)
I do have to change coils after a couple of days but it is worth it to me

I'm ok with changing coils every couple of days, but not twice a day LOL. Real Tobacco Extracts will be my next order and then after that, latabaccheria.

NATURALLY EXTRACTED TOBACCO IS NOT A SCAM! Clay is just one guy, so there must be something going on for that to happen. I was a loyal customer for 4 years, I only bought from N.E.T! I had many, 1/2 hr phone calls with clay, who was more than happy to explain and discuss passionately. Nothing was too much trouble and I was calling from Australia. Never had an order not arrive and once, when 2 bottles out of my 8 bottles arrived broken, he replaced the entire order- which was substantial. I buy my n.e.ts from a couple of vendors now but I still vape my favourites from the N.E.T collection. Vendors like Clay @ N.E.T and Evan @ RTE are passionate and honest guys, dedicated, hard working and talented members of the vaping community whose contribution to the movement and commitment to quality should not be underestimated, nor overlooked.
If the above said post is true, hen there must be a very good reason and the vaping community would do well to reach out, stand beside and rally around our own!!!

I agree! I don't know what's going on with Clay lately as I switched to Real Tobacco Extracts some time ago. But both are top quality unique NET.

I've been buying Red Virginia from NET since 2015. I have been very happy with them and their product ever since. As others have said, it's a one man shop, and it does take a few days to ship sometimes, but usually no more than 3-4 days tops. They have had problems with USPS shipments on occasion. There were a few times when the package tracking was showing as pre-shipment for an unusually long time, but a quick e-mail or phone call to Clay would resolve it.

Unfortunately, it looks like they may have shut down or worse, he or his family got seriously ill. The web site is still up, but I've been waiting over a month for an order I placed in early July. E-mails are going unanswered, and calls are going to a full mail box. I sure hope neither is the case, and nothing tragic has happened. I certainly hope they get up & running again, because I am yet to find anything close to his product. I ended up on this thread because I googled for "Is Naturally Extracted Tobacco LLC shut down".

I took note of Walter's reference to Real Tobacco Extracts, and they have a Red Virginia product which I'm certainly going to try.

I attempted to order from natrually-extracted-tobacco.com on-line back on the 9th (today's the 28th). I received my order confirmation and was billed almost immediately. 20 days, 3 emails, and 2 calls (that weren't answered, and no ability to leave a message), still nothing from them. This was my first time using them, and my last. Now I just have to try to get my money back, then find a source of decent NET.
