This good looking mod has some serious potential. All aluminum is something I’ve never seen on a mod which should be nice. Dual 21700’s, could go either way here with pro or con, I’ll say pro just because there isn’t a ton of available mods that use dual 21700’s. Anyway I seen these mod and decided it needed a dedicated thread. It isn’t out yet that I can find but if you see any reviews maybe link them and also share what you think about this DNA250C mod.

It's out, I played with one in a local B&M yesterday. Felt good, looked like good quality build. Large deck for big atomizers, probably 30mm. Kind of slopes off so there could be slight gap with 30mm but don't think so. Felt good in hand, about the size of my dual topside. Huge vents for batteries to the point where you'll need wraps if you care about the color match.

I'm buying unregulated and squonks now wasn't interested, but they're out there.

Watched Bogan's review yesterday. Has a lot going for it. Only thing I wonder is how comfortable it is.
Dovpo has a some other interesting mods. Topside Lite and SQ Topside.

Huh. Hadn't seen the Topside Lite, looks interesting. Not sure I'd ever NOT squonk, but innovative none the less. I have a dual and use it daily.

I liked the feel of the Odin, and can't go wrong with the DNA chip, IMHO. But I'm focused on squonkers and mechs right now. I ordered an SQ Topside from Hit that Juice and should get it late this week. How can you lose with that combo at $145?

Odin came in the mail a day early, woo-hoo!

IMAG0606.jpg

Nice mod. My only complaint is the fire button rattles a bit and not nearly as tight as the paranormal fire button. Otherwise I'm digging it!

After plugging Odin to do some work on Escribe I noticed the USB is loose inside the mod. Button rattle I can live with but the USB really pisses me off. I expect much better tolerances for the price.

If that is a wiggly wiggly and it is really that bad, I would see if evolv can lend a hand tightening it up. If not I'm not sure I would be comfortable keeping it at the price.

I was tempted to buy this mod when it was on Black Friday sales for $150... but from previous experience with the Basium it wasn't all to difficult.

The issues I noticed with the Basium was that the fire button rattled, and in no time was sometimes unresponsive to a press. I took it apart and remedied it, but there was also the 510 they used... was sort of crap and some atomizers wouldn't work on it. It was cheap and I sold it a while back, but it left a stain in my opinion of them, enough so I wouldn't buy another anything made by them.

But if all there is, is a slight rattle, you can take it apart and place a small oring over the board/button area... it's what remedied the Basium for me.

Just checked the USB and doesn't move side to side, just in and out. When I plug it in it pushed in and pulls back to the frame when I disconnect.

I'll have to take it apart and mess with it ... at some point when inspiration hits. :giggle:

I'm torn between the Odin and a Boxer with similar specs at the moment. Any input would be appreciated.

Personally, at that price I would boxxer. You would have stateside customer service in tbr event of product failure.

Yep, I would do the same. Get the boxer and don't look back.

I really do regret not going ahead and spending more to get the inline from rebel instead of the Odin. Odin works great, just feel that the quality of it is a few steps down from their carbon topside mod...which is why I went with the Odin. Oops, won't buy Dovpo anymore.

Is it won't buy dovpo or won't spend that much money on dovpo?
I ask because when I spend 40-50 bucks on a mod, I have different expectations than when I spend 140-150 or more.

Ha ha good question dude. I'm the same way which is why I'm so disappointed with this mod. Won't bother with Dovpo anymore because of this and their lower priced mods just don't interest me.

Makes sense... kinda wish I saw this before I ordered my topside lite. Then again, I ordered it with the idea that it would be a beater anyway. I've never owned anything from dovpo, so I reckon I'm going to either be pleasantly surprised or joining you to start a new hate group.
We can get tshirt made.

Yeah man beaters are definitely different. Use, abuse, replace is the cycle for beater mods. Still have quite a few of those to beat up.

I should give Dovpo credit for the first topside mod as well. It is a solid mod. Got two of those now that I think about it. Fuck it, I'm a hypocrite lol.

Bahahaha!!!!
I reckon most of us are when it comes to vape gear.

That the issue I'm having as well. When you consider the cost of the chip (~$90-$100ish?), it's basically saying to me that the mod casing/machining/aesthetics should be worth about $80 and I don't see that here with the Odin.

Glad I read this thread because I have the Odin in a shopping cart right now. For that price I’d rather use it towards a stabwood or another DNA device.

I’ll pass on the Odin.

I was totally about to buy an Odin too, def a little disappointing to hear. The Odin honestly seemed to be my best option for an affordable DNA 250C. And I wanted to pick one up in case shit really does go down in May. So now I'm back at square one and looking for suggestions.

What would y'all suggest for a dual battery (preferably 18650) DNA 250C mod?

Paranormals are getting harder to find, but they are usually around ~$160 to $180 new. But I've also heard that Lost Vape mods can have their own issues, and really aren't that different than most mass-produced Chinese mods.

Boxxer and Rebels seem to be my next best (and maybe only?) option. This classic Boxxer seems nice. The inline Rebel looks very nice too. But I've heard horror stories about both company's customer service, which gives me pause when I'm forking over $250...

Any one know any other good options?

I’m interested in a quality DNA250C mod also. It seems excessive they charge so much for those boxers. I know the chip costs a lot but the bodies have to be cheap. I think metal just feels more substantial and feels like it’s nicer then these plastic bodied boxer mods.
Also does anyone know of a nice DNA75c mod that takes 21700? I’m thinking I want one nice DNA mod for the stable before the reckoning. I have plenty of mods but no dna chipped. I deserve a nice dna mod I just don’t want to pay a huge premium for it. I’m also wondering what the prices will do closer to May. Seems there may be some super deals if shops need to get rid of stock because a stroke of the pen makes them illegal. Anyway I’ll keep my eye on this thread to see if there is any nice dna options.

I've been holding off on a 250C as well.
Thought it might be Odin but the longer I wait the more I think no.
Inline seems more overpriced than some other printed mods. Nothing over 25mm, And those contacts :blech: I don't want to use a tool on it to get to use it, or have to adjust them down the road, and they tend to grab at the wraps.

I'm torn about ordering now vs ordering in May too. The problem, at least with waiting on Boxxers, is that they don't always keep the mods on hand since they can literally print them as customers buy them. So there might not be many to be had around May as we hope. But if that happens there is def hope for us. Cause Rebel isn't gonna stop making mods, and I'm sure some UK vapers would be happy to work as a 3rd party (for a fee) to ship the mods to US. And I seriously doubt US customs will be up to date one the FDA's PMTA lol

When you say a DNA that takes 21700, do you mean a squonk or regular mod? Cause Vicious Ant's Spades look pretty cool. And they can usually be had for a decent price used.

Hey now, the Inline takes 26mm attys lol

But I know what you mean. If I drop the cash for a mod like that, I want it to accommodate large attys. Not because I even have anything bigger than 26mm, but ya never know...

I have a Hohm Slice, which is all aluminum. Whatever paint they used on it, began flaking off in months. Take a vape, put the mod down, hand covered in black paint flakes. No clue if the Odin would be similar. For a 21700 DNA mod, I'm thinking that if I get one I'll get a Boxer. I had a Rebel and had nothing but issues. Leaky AF 510 connector. Buttons broke off. And being from the UK, customer service from here in the USA = snake tits (aka useless). At least with the Boxer it's stateside.

I like my Dovpo chip Odin so much that I ordered the DNA version this morning. Great mod.

I was definitely tempted to grab one. I was looking for a dual battery mod to pair with my Aromamizer Plus. Ended up ordering an HCigar Wildwolf and a Smoant Cylon from slowtech, $71 shipped for the pair. Mannyscoot raves about the Wildwolf, and I've heard good things about the Cylon as well. Curious to see how they perform in TC, I'm DNA spoiled.

I’ve been using my Smoant Cylon since jump street and it a wonderful mod. I don’t use TC much so I’m not an expert but when I’ve used it on the Cylon it has performed well. I haven’t used a dna device so can’t compare for you but I’d love to hear how you feel it compares when you get the opportunity. The Cylon had a problem with the screen on some of them if memory serves but mines been great. Just something you may want to look out for.

I will definitely do a comparison with the DNAs. I recently got a Pulse 90 bf and I gotta say, it does pretty good TC with the latest firmware. That's going to be my summer+cargo shorts mod, nice & lightweight, decent battery life with a 21700, depending on the build.

Can't justify the price of the Dovpo chip Odin when Uwell just dropped the Evdilo not too long ago. That thing is TINY for a dual 21700. It's either DNA or nothing and if I'm going to spend that much I'd rather go with a Boxer for the reasons previously discussed.

I can tell you that I had a run in with my new Boxer DNA200 triple.... came to me DOA.
Personally, at that price I would boxxer. You would have stateside customer service in tbr event of product failure.
Have you ever dealt with there customer service??? I'm an electrical technician (30 years) and had a problem with the DNA200 chipset overheating on a new mod of theirs. Sent in all the data from escribe software to back it up and they treated me like a two year old and acted like they were doing me a favor to fix the NEW mod..... Never will I buy from them again!
I will say they did fix it but with that attitude they will never see another dime from me!

Anyway sorry for the rant I did get the Odin in the mail today and can tell you without batteries it's about 20 grams lighter than my Lost Vape Triade. Build looks great only thing the buttons.... I don't know if they are plastic or meatal. Will report back but can tell you the USB is solid, buttons are clicky. Even if the buttons are plastic will it matter in the long run? I don't think so and for the price I'll take it. I've been wanting a back up for my Triade because I love the 250C chipset and only have the one mod with it and want big battery life. I use the Triade as my everyday carry because it lasts without backup batteries and this should be on par with it.

LV Triade with batteries 338.97g, Odin with batteries 308.37g. Both mods had batteries with no tank on board. Running the Odin with two Molicel 45A 4200mah batteries and they seem to last longer than the three 3000mah batteries in the Triade..... weird but real life. And yes both sets are new and from Liion.
Just thought I would post back for anyone looking at this mod because I think I will end up liking it more than the Triade if it lasts as long. Only at 77 puffs:)
