The RPM, Vinci, and some others are what they're calling pod-mods. They're kind of a cross between the two.

I think the term "pod" probably initially came from the small, pod-like containers of e-liquid that were in vapes like the Juul. The device itself doesn't look like a pod, but the little gizmo that the e-liquid is in does.

There are all different kinds of them now. I'm not well-versed on actual pods, don't have any at all, the devices I have that are small now are All-In-Ones (AIOs). They're like miniaturized mods with internal tanks, and built-in batteries for the most part. And I have one pod-mod, the Vinci X.

Hopefully someone who knows more about pods will be along shortly.

Looks like Nadalama helped in your question in post #2.

i didn't understand that that was the actual definition,
thaNKS.
Yeah she said anything that really matters. A larger pod mod like the RPM 80 Pro that uses an external battery is pretty much like any mid size device except you put the coils in what amounts to a tank with a different shape than a regular tank. It's not as revolutionary as Smok makes it sound, but all the companies do that at some point.

For you personally, the RPM 80 Pro might not be the best choice because the available coils might not perform that well at wattages you like to vape. They seem to want more power. But maybe.

Just remember that if you get a single battery device you need to designate a few of your batteries for single use. You don't want to unmarry them and then use them in pairs again after that.
