Dovpo Odin 200w Dovpo chip version

This is my first 21700 mod and I am loving the shit out of it. The matte black option makes the body matchy matchy with the end caps and with my matte black Fatality M25 it just looks perfect. It's heavy, like unbelievably heavy. Great build quality. The chip doesn't do much, but if you're a wattage vaper like me it does enough. Wish there was a brightness setting for the screen, it's pretty bright. The battery door feels solid and doesn't seem like a weak point. One big plus on the huge battery vents is that this mod just does not heat up. You can chain vape the crap out of it and the Odin stays cool in your hand no matter what.

There aren't a ton of consumer level 2x21700 mods out there. For 100 bones it feels like it's worth the asking price. Does it feel twice as nice as the average Chinese box? For me that's a big yes. Is it substantially nicer than an Evdilo? For me that is also a yes as the Evdilo looks and feels like what it is, a disposable Chinese mod. As do the Hadron and the Kriemhild. IMO you'd have to have someone make you a custom billet box 2x21700 DNAc to get comparable quality, and those start around $250 depending on who you use.

These are brand new but I imagine they'll eventually get the deep discount. I think they're worth the asking price now, and they'll be an absolutely fantastic mod when the price comes down.

you can't swing a dead cat on instagram without hitting one, there are a ton of custom mod makers out there. Just reach out to one whose work you think looks good.

are we talking the same thing? CNC milled billet enclosure is what I'm talking about. Plenty of mod makers use them.

This is the billet box SteelDriver is talking about. Not just any box cnc milled.

now that I have both versions of the Odin, I will comment that the DNA version is _substantially_ lighter than the Dovpo chip version. Those zinc oxide end caps make a big difference in weight. The DNA version is much more comfortable and doesn't draw attention to itself. I like and am keeping both, but I will mention that the weight of the Dovpo chip version will be off putting to many. I can't stress enough just what a heavy mod the cheaper Odin is. It's like friggin Mjolnir, which will be appealing to some and I don't mind it. I like both of these Odins, the case is a really nice shape and comfortable to hold, one shockingly heavy and one surprisingly light in comparison. It's an evolution of the classic box mod, and it isn't a plastic toy like so many Chinese mods.

Would you have bought the DNA if the non-DNA was available at the same time?

The timing of the release is rubbing some people the wrong way. People who just wanted a dual 21700 regulated bought the DNA even though they didn't necessarily care about the chip, and then they released the cheap version. $200 bucks just seemed like a lot with the stabwood Paranormals coming out at roughly the same time.

I actually bought my DNA after the Dovpo chip one, which was a testament to how much I liked it. I wanted the nicer version as well. Still cheaper than a custom DNA box. Great enclosure.

or you could look at the Paranormal for what it is, a cheap Chinese mod that differs from the average $50 Chinese box only in that it has a DNA and a stabwood panel you stick on the side. Oh and costs three times as much. yawn.

Lost Vape is really milking that 3 yr old Paranormal design.

I've actually never owned a Lost Vape product for that exact reason...I was just commenting on the fact that stabwood is inherently more expensive and generally more desired within the vaping community. I'd personally rather buy a stabwood Paranormal over the Odin DNA. I mean, Chinese is Chinese right? Might as well grab some wood for the same damn price.

to my way of thinking the Odin enclosure is really above average for a Chinese box. It's a supremely ergonomic dual 21700. The big battery vents have the added bonus of keeping the box from ever warming up with chain vaping. It's not the boxy box we all have had multiple iterations of. Lastly, it costs more than $50 less than a nice commissioned DNA box would set you back. I'm not sad I have two. If I want wood I'm getting another Asmodus Minikin 21700. Sure it's Chinese, but the chip ain't bad and they are super nice if you can get one for around $225. I have two and they're probably my favorites.

Oh yeah the Kodama is great.

China is definitely getting better with their mods generally I think. They finally caught on we know what trash is when we see it :D

I just picked up a Dovpo/Signature Tips Mono SQ DNA75c...thing is amazing quality for being produced in China...just not sure if Signature Tips sent them the bodies or what. I can't tell.
