Worst vapes of all time

I’m working on a series compiling and reviewing the worst vapes of all time. Is there any vape that you have used that you instantly hated or trashed? Popular, obscure, super obscure that only you know about it? Great! Let me know! A device, tank, pod system, AIO, mod that you hate for whatever reason, no matter how petty, let me know!

SX Mini Mi Class pod system. Absolutely unvapeable. No vapor, no flavor, no throat hit, why bother? Barely any air comes through the thing at all, it is entirely useless.

Great to know! The sx auto pod intrigues me so it’s nice to know the heritage

67 Mods NeoFet Ultem.

This was the biggest piece of shit ever made.

Over priced and underperformed.

I gave it the moniker “GooberFet”

That’s another great one to add to the list

Augvape Druga Foxy. Fire button went to hell after about 10 uses. Took it back to the shop and they gave me a replacement. That button lasted maybe 15 uses. Cannot figure out how to get it apart, and quit trying.

Drag nano pod. You would have better luck getting 10w30 through a straw than vapor outta that.

Foutain V3 Atty. At the time squonks were barely available, the Fountain V2 was pretty good. The V3 was unusable for many reasons.

Cherry Bomb was awesome. Druga Squonk definitely was trash. The RDA wasnt terrible though.
You've been around alot longer than I have and maybe I'm remembering this wrong. Wasn't there 2 versions of the Cherry Bomber where one was a good series box and the other was dangerous?

Make no mistake it could be dangerous but knowing how to use it made it awesome. It still holds its own.

This RTA right here. It's a Kamikaze. I bought it when I first got into RTA's. Tried to build it and realized....um how the hell are you supposed to dry burn this?!

It works like a drop in coil. No way to dry burn/clean/ or check the resistance before assembly.

Squidoode "The Doode" RDA. The thing I liked, in theory, is the reason I hate it in practice. I literally liked it for 2 seconds and hated it ever since. Coil positioning is terrible, it hot spots like crazy and its actually just a really stupid design overall. The idea behind it is pretty cool but in practice it is a complete fail. The airflow also sucks and is ill placed for the coil positions.

I almost bought a stainless one in a clearance bin in a shop one time. I was torn between "this has a lot of possibilities" and "this looks like very over-designed for what it's trying to do."

The latter finally won out.

They were pretty cool for their time, imo. I loved and used tge hell outta the V2. I don't think there ever was a V1:confused: So when the V3 came out I was super pumped and bought about 8 of em. They were trash. I still have a few of both, I think. They were tall fugly ones though  You've never seen one in general?

USONICIG Zip pod system, no vapor or flavor, fail
Kangertech KBOX 160, they were innovative early with the protank, but this mod just crapped out after being babied for a few weeks, haven’t released anything of substance lately.

augvape druga squonk
This was a massive large dinosaur pile of shit. A dead person hits harder and every time you'd hit the fire button the door would pop off. IT also had the absolute worst bottle. The RDAs were ok, but I was never a fan of the druga.

Squidoode "The Doode" RDA.

I went back and forth about getting one of these and sure glad I didn't. The whole collet thing just seemed ridiculous.

The istick tc100w. I wanted to like it, it wasn't fancy. It's age is showing by how narrow the little bastard is, almost anything from the past couple years will overhang like mad. It was a nice shape, comfortable to hold, slim. Even the tc wasn't too bad on it. That fucking fire button though. Yea let's solder a small sister board to the main pcb, a little board that all it does is attaches the internal fire button. And we won't fix the fire switch to the main board with anything but the solder. Oh and lets put all the solder points on one side so it's like a little solder hinge that flexes with ever press of the button. Then play a game of 'how many licks does it take' (or presses in this case) before the solder snaps the fuck off. Such a cringey weak point.

The drag 2. Overrated overhyped to say the least. It has a sloppy battery door, the batteries are kind of a pain with that strap, all the buttons rattle. So what's so great about the mod? Well as it turns out, it can fire a coil in wattage mode. Yep, that's about fucking it. Eleaf did a better job in 2014 or 2015 than voopoo did in 2019. The tc is garbage, tcr's seem to have no effect, the gimped 80w power limit in tc mode doesn't even work. At 80w with ss316L coils the closest comparison I could make in terms of vapor production and heat was 45w in wattage mode.

The geekvape ammit, whatever the original one was. Single coil, 3d airflow. Had good flavor when it worked, so props for that. Otherwise an engineering fail. The top fill cap locks down tighter than the split chimney sections that hold the glass in place. So when loosening the fill cap to add more juice instead 9x out of 10 the whole fucking tank separates in the middle loosening the glass and letting any remaining juice piss all over. The posts are so close to the chamber walls when it's screwed together even flush cuts can't keep the coil leads from touching and arcing, there's that little clearance. So you have to kind of position the coil where you think you'll want it, push it through a little further, snip the leads, then gently back the coil out so the leads are resting just inside the posts. Then tighten it down because they can't extend past the posts even a little. Then of course the juice well in the deck. Nice big deck for the wick tails on top, big open juice ports slotted in from the side. But the actual hole between the juice ports and bottom of the deck is so tiny hardly any juice gets through. If the wick even so much as pokes into that tiny hole, dry hits. Chokes it off completely. So you moved the wick tails away from the tiny holes in the deck - oops, now it's flooding and dripping everywhere. Such good flavor when it worked, such a shitty design on so many fronts that makes you question if they even vape.

Totally agree on all accounts with the Ammit. Unfortunately also with the great flavor when right, so I still use them. Maybe you know or have done, but just thought I would throw it out there. I tighten the leads, then wiggle until they break at the screw. At least eliminates the arching and readjusting the coil. Few different/better design ideas, and I would use them daily for sure

Aegis Boost - airflow moves quite a bit when your finger graces it from vaping. The pod is near impossible to see when filling juice and to see if you’re low. The pod closing flap doesn’t stay completely shut so you leak liquid.

I know a lot of people got hyped up about this system, but I hated it!

no one has said these yet, so i will. i have had neither.

augvape druga squonk(i think thats it)_

some "cheerybomb" mod.

Druga RDA was a great and wonderful attie. The mod, while not very good, was no where near the worst squonker - and I tried them all before a self-imposed buying ban in late 2018. The worst mech squonker I ever tried was the CV2

As for the Cherry Bomber, it was very dangerous (the OG) but a very powerful vape

The problem was the polarity, it would auto fire if metal touched the body ;) Later versions corrected that defect. There were numerous crappy clones made though

Omg you are SO right. That thing is an utter piece of shit! It is unusable, has to have the worst switch ever put on a mod in the history of the universe.

I forgot about that damn thing. Thank goodness it wasn't expensive, although I have had cheaper squonkers, ones that were bought off clearance, that did a much better job than that POS.

When you squonk the door pushes off it :giggle:

Also, it is BUTT UGLY

  • My airflow stays put.
  • Yeah the pods are quite dark. I detach the pod and hold it up to a light source when filling. A window that looks outdoors is sufficient for me. A light bulb works also.
  • The way I check the liquid liquid level is by detaching the pod and using a light source (again).
  • I gotta be careful filling it. The opening is narrow and prone to getting blocked with liquid if I go too fast. Then the liquid doesn't go in the pod, but just pools up on top making a mess. What I do, is go slow and steady. Whenever I try to rush it, most times I make the mess.
  • The rubber plug thing has been fine on both of mine. I mean it seals the pod and doesn't come loose. I have one regular and one RBA. Getting it off can be a pain but I just use my nails. I pinch just the edge and wiggle it upwards.

I can imagine people not liking things about the Boost. But it does have a lot of things going for it. It performs really well at what it does. For that, I wouldn't vote for it to be on the worst vapes of all time list. Something like the Eleaf Icare Mini is a lot worse.

Hana Modz "One" DNA40 mod.

It was the biggest $200 hunk of plastic shit ever invented.

Agreed, although they will get temperamental over time. Need parts for mine, I think, like a new button or button assembly.

I'm gonna creep down to @MrMeowgi's house one of these days and swipe his brass mamma-jamma. Wait though, am I too late? I think he sold it! Aargh!!!
I have a brass one. It is one heavy mofo, but I love it :) Also, I had to take the little thingy off that locks it when it turns on my other one to get the button right again. It was obstructing the push, maybe yours is?

@f1r3b1rd would know.

How much did the Hana One DNA40 retail for?

Damn, look at googles first result::eek:

I have about a dozen of the OG, the bodies are awesome

My first brass one I put in a MM silver kit and modded some parts for it to be all silver contacts - it is now a bad ass - I call it Chesty Morgan, lol

I plan to pimp all of them out one of these days

Back when I bought my vsdna 40, vaporhsark were 200$ and they were the cheapest going.
Hana dna40 was about 250 or 280.

When they did that "hana one", it was about 180. The "hana one" was the plastic mod that let you swap out the battery door to make it a single or dual 18650 mod.

By the time hana went the way of the dodo, you get that mod for free with any order from hyperion vape. - that's when we got those killer mech deals a few years back.

Sounds like exactly what mine is doing. Sometimes I can't get the button to press properly. At first I had to be sure I pressed it exactly right, now sometimes it won't press at all, no matter where or how I press it,

It's just one screw to take the locking mechanism off. I never lock mine anyways, so that's what I did.

I agree with you on most accounts, but I don't have the problem with the airflow moving or the juice plug. I do really hate hate how dark the pod is. I've vaped it dry numerous times and gotten the taste of burned cotton. It's the weak line in an otherwise pretty decent pod mod. I still vape mine frequently.

My worst was the Joyetech Unimax 25. Utter garbage. Pathetic amount of vape produced and coils that dry hit every second drag. Sent it back for a refund but someone in our postal service stole it. One consolation is that when the dog who took it used it they were guaranteed to cough their insides out. :giggle:

Unpopular opinion at the time:

The OG Velocity sucked. The build deck was a fantastic advancement for the rebuildable industry but the atty itself was awful. It was well made but it was fugly and terrible in the flavor department.
