Isolation RTA Initial Impressions

I built this dual coil 26ga twisted 0.24@75w and vaped it for a minute and then immediately pulled it back apart and rewicked. Like the Manta, the Isolation wants all the cotton you can squeeze into the juice ports. Like what I always would have considered too much wick. Works on the Manta, works on the Isolation. Both are absolutely determined to wick, and if you don't stuff the channels pretty full it's going to get messy.

Another impression I had from the very first draw, even before I rewicked, was that this was without a doubt the best flavor I ever got from an RTA. I mean juicy, full, lush. Pretty incredible really. The only thing I can compare it to is back in the day when the original Troll RDA came out I used to put a .5 ohm single coil in it and vape at 100w, which was nuts right because back then we were all vaping 50 and under and generally 40 or under. That was back in the day of the DNA 40 and the Kanger ST Mini. I used to put that Troll on my BMI and hit it at 100w and the flavor was amazing and it would just fog the room and I would lol. The Isolation is like that.

I find it not as airy as I'd expected. In fact I would call what this tank delivers on the draw as a pleasantly restricted DL, which is my preference so I am happy about how it vapes. That's wide open. IMO anything less than wide open does this tank a disservice, and it isn't airy enough to run lower anyway IMO. I run my coils _just_ above the airflow, so if you sat them higher you'd get a little more air.

The deck is plenty big. The posts, meh. It's workable but it's not a joy to build or anything.

The vape is maybe a little cooler at 75w than my usual vapes and I may bump this up to 80w to get a little more warmth. 85w is where I normally run my RDAs. I don't think this will need 85w but it does need a slight bump.

It's a pretty tank but if you were going to sit in front of the computer and chain vape this you might want to go for the ugly and get the big ultem bubble glass. This RTA drains juice like nothing I've ever owned.

Now that I've been vaping my second wick job for a bit, it looks nice and dry around the air intake.

Doesn't seem to run any hotter than the Fatality. That's nice because the Mantas I have get pretty hot when you sit and vape them and it's a con IMO.

So I have five Fatality M25s. The Isolation absolutely has better flavor. I like the Fatality better in every other regard. I'm glad I got the Isolation. I like it. I really like it, and I may very well buy a second, but I'm not taking any of the Fatalities out of rotation for one. The Isolation is like the sports car you drive on the weekend and the Fatality is like the Durango you drive back and forth to work or to the store, if that makes any sense. The Fatality is set it and forget it, has amazing build quality, was really well thought out, can be rebuilt or rewicked lickety split, and is great for constant day in and day out use. The Isolation seems a little more finicky to me at first blush.

tl;dr
best flavor I ever had and thrilled to have it but small issues keep it from being my all time favorite rta. This may change as I vape it more and these are just my initial impressions.

oh and vapor production is rda-like, obviously since it flies through the juice the way it does. It's a very satisfying vape.

yeah seriously, I've been pretty much vaping nothing but my vanilla custard recipe since 2014. This tank gives it a richness and depth I've never tasted before. Astounding flavor.

I am quarantined from everyone in the family and don't have access to a good camera. Here's a shot off a beat up circa 2010 camera, you asked for it

I love mine, but no matter what I do, it ALWAYS leaks on refills. Never ever when I’m running it, I can leave it upside down and sideways all night, but ALWAYS leaks from the AFC on refills.

No, it does not. The Isolation isolates the flavor in order to protect it against.. err.. hmmmm.. oh yea, the Fatality. :p
