It's Tuesday and the sun is out, I'll take it! I have some bottle washing to do and some coils to clean.
We finally have some confirmed cases - 4 now in my county. :( Hubby said it's time to get serious. Like we weren't.
Siblings in Seattle are still good, as are daughter and hubs in Arkansas. Walmart ran out of my Advair inhaler, hope to have it in tomorrow, do I want them to refill it? Yes, I would like to breath, thank you!
Stay safe, all

It's Tuesday already?

Checking in from my 'burg of the nation. Feel like a train hit me. Sore as hell, not sleeping well, c'est la vie. My hands hurt. They hurt from the work, from being dried out from hand washing and from sanitizer. On the flipside, I have a job that was deemed essential and I'm healthy enough to be there daily. I'm grateful, but still unnerved.

We were handed letters, yesterday, at work. The letter is for law enforcement, in case we go into lock down, or whatever, notifying them that we are working a job that is on the essential list, and to please let us move along, without incident (jeebus, wth?). Made me feel like I'd been deputized, or whatever.

Morale at work is eerily quiet while working, though it's a loud facility. Some people seem calm, some are closed up, like I have been, others are finding solace in venting, or simply talking about their concerns when we're on our breaks. Everyone seems focused to get the job done so we can get the hell out for the day, to the discomfort of our own homes.

I'm tired, LOL.

Checking in wife and I still doing fine.
A niece by wifes first marriage wanted to come stay with us due to many/most of her family/social circle having either tested positive for virus or being exposed to it will still going about life as usual... Request was declined. EX Neice is not someone we would let stay here even if no virus btw.

A bit of good news:
New York scientists develop first US blood test that can detect who has already had coronavirus and is immune
  • Scientists at Mt Sinai University in New York have created the first test in the US for detecting coronavirus antibodies in the blood
  • The tests reveal who has already had the infection and developed immunity to it
  • It's not clear how long this immunity will last, but the antibodies can be detected about seven days after a person is infected
  • Once someone has antibodies against COVID-19, they likely return to relatively normal activities with relatively low risk of infection or spreading the virus
  • Mt Sinai will begin rolling out the blood test this week, but it's not clear how widespread it will be
  • They will prioritize testing health care workers and others on the front lines
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/...-develop-blood-test-coronavirus-immunity.html

of course do not expect a 2 week rollout or somesuch of this test as some politicians may promise.
Still waiting on the touted drive thru testing at Wally world, CVS and Target.
Probably a month just to get the new antibody test rolled out to some critical HC workers. But very positive thing for later.

Wow somebody's got some nerve, huh? At the very least she needs to find someone younger to bunk with.

Wow, was one hell of a morning~! Had to run with my GF to her job to pick up a workstation. While trying to connect using WiFi to her neighbors with permission of course I found she was down. So after trying a reboot I found a problem with her WiFi which I was able to fix but not getting the range. So packed up the workstation and brought it here to set her up with a private office in the spare bedroom. Did not eat lunch until 2PM.

A case in my town now, as of today.
had to happen it will happen in virtually all towns eventually.
The higher pop areas are the first hit with a big peak but more rural areas will continue to peak out well into the summer I expect.
There is no one peak for the entire country.
14 days just will not cut it I do not care what the smartest president ever says.

Just do your best to stay safe.

Thank you for starting this post!

I’ve not been around much due to home educating my daughter. I’m in the U.K. and we went into lockdown last night. It’s been crazy here and worrying to. There are 85 cases close to me and over 1000 in London alone.

Last night I ended up calling the local hospital phone service for advice because I had extream chest pain and other symptoms. I was deemed emergency enough to have paramedics sent out to me to check my heart. It took seven hours for them to get here but I apreciated that they maid it to me at all and thanked them for every thing they are doing to fight this virus. They wanted to take me in to the hospital there and then but my 11year old autistic daughter was asleep and there is no one to look after her. Knowing if I woke her telling her we were going to the hospital she would have a masive meltdown then we wouldn’t go any where for days so I decided to wait a while and prepare her properly befor going. I need tests to see if they can find what caused all my symptoms.

So today I feel like I’m walking into a war zone and taking the thing that I treasure and love the most in the world to be caught up in it all and possibly risk every thing ( she has underlying health issues and there is no one to look after her but me) because it’s some thing I can’t protect her from. But if I don’t go then I risk my health in a serious way. Either way it’s a catch twenty two situation.

You can probably tell I’m not doing ok today but I will try and get through this the best I can.

Sorry for the long post. I just needed to get it off my chest.

How are you doing now? I hope you get the care you need and that your daughter will also be looked after.
You can vent here, we all get it. Maybe we’re not in such dire circumstances as you, but it seems like we’re all in this together. No matter where we are, we’re all being faced with the new reality of isolation or quarantine.

Hang in there and keep in touch.:hug:

Well, I know I probably ought not use cigarettes as prayer. At the same time I've greatly reduced the harm they do me. I'm also human like anyone else. I can stumble at times. I could beat myself up over it or just try doing better. My mom kind of fussed at me that while I chatted to her over the web I took a mouthful drink of rum. Told her I took a snort of rum just to cut the edge off. She laughed and asked, "just a snort", recalling how I used to down 151 proof rum like there was no tomorrow. I might have maybe three drinks a year now, for at least the last ten to fifteen years. And it's no longer 151 proof, just 80 proof.

Excuse me, need to go fix a dryer for her dad. :)

Tobacco is a sacred medicine plant, though. You’ll be able to “see” it, if you tune in, as golden yellow leaves rather large. I’ve never seen tobacco but that’s what I’ve “seen”. Enough weirdness for now! Stay safe, bb.

We're doing ok. We have to drive to Baton Rouge Friday to see my retina specialist.
He's decided I'm in the list of patients that need to be seen and can't wait. It's over an hour drive and I just know we'll get lost :p
Stay safe everyone!

I’m doing okay, not sure I can say that for the rest of NY, though. I’ve been reading and watching streaming stuff, but I can see boredom will be the hard part now,

I’m very grateful for VU now, and for all the great people on this forum. You’ve all made vaping more fun for me this year, and it’s awesome to have people like you around to talk to.

Love you guys! <3 <3

I'm doing fine, a little bored with little motivation to get things done ,but I'll get over it... Been getting hit by some allergies also, Heisenberg Menthol worksgreat.:)

Me too with the allergies. So freaking horrible, especially since I never had them before. :wth:

If you can, get some Quercetin, AJ. It helps with the allergy symptoms, and they just found out it’s pretty good against corona. It’s similar to that chloroquine drug in its effects. You can look it up, bro.

Stay safe, and it’s good to hear from you. We’ll prolly need each other now at VU with boredom being the enemy!

Edit: I haven’t broken into the Heisenberg Menthol yet.

Well got the call about my glasses

Went to pick them up...

They’re all sorts of wrong.

They needed to be computer focused (near, intermediate dominate) I even stressed this...

Nope, not even close.

“Take them home for a week and try them”

What?

How about you shit in a bag, take it home for a week, it’s stinks, it’s wrong... just like these glasses... Savvy?

I couldn’t even read with them

Side note, called moms... her and pop have an early day at Albertsons to get some elderly distanced food shopping done tomorrow.

Older sis going nuts with her kids, youngest sis is screening patients when they arrive at the clinic

Be safe everyone

Wichita Kansas my town goes on 'stay at home' order at midnight tonight for 30 days.

My job is classed as essential, so still have work for the moment, which I'm really glad about, as kids driving me nuts already, without being home with them all day, just not sure my place will stay open though, work is getting really slow, so they may lay us off :(

Yes, tobacco is big golden leaves. I had some natural tobacco once after visiting a Pow Wow. Yes, it is also a sacred plant, it is tobacco smoke which carries prayer to Great Spirit if you follow the Native American or Indigenous People's beliefs. That is why to me it is seen as prayer.

Though I can whisper prayers mentally and be assured they're heard as well. :) I don't know that it is a god/God but I do sense something more than us. I do believe in Light & Dark, the Whole which is both of these. I also believe in Balance and the sacredness of life. I believe in Love, but am aware Love can Create or Destroy just as Hope can.

I also know that Ignorance is the greatest evil there is on our world. Ignorance leads to suffering, leads to Fear. Fear ultimately can only Destroy. That isn't to say it is healthy to be without Fear. It is healthy to have Fear but also know that there is more important to do in life than Fear, and go on and do it, that is Courage. When one is so Courageous they will sacrifice their Life for the Love of others knowing One is All and All is One, that is Valor.

In the military services the first and most basic lesson, "grab a buddy, look out for your buddy." When you pair with a buddy you become valorous because you will sacrifice your life for your buddy. You buddy in turn will sacrifice their life for you. It is this we need at the time. I am not the one to tell us where to go, how to go, or anything. I am not a leader nor follower. People can walk beside me as an equal, One is All and All is One, but only at their Free Choice. I do not ask them to walk with me. I never will.

I do not say this to seeming not say it but yet say it. I say it because it is needed said and not needed said. And now I'll cease speaking this way. We need to live and the way forward is clear even if I've no clue where I'm going. :) I don't ever want to know where I'm going, knowing that makes me a liability. Just point me to what needs done, I'll go do until I can do no more, then move to what is pointed out needing done next. Do not even voice a thanks, I'll be moving on before such a thought enters the mind. I need not even thanks.

Only managed to get 1 packet of toilet paper in the past month. We have just everyday tissues now. Its a free for all every day with the same people over and over every day buying it all according to the shop staff.

They should put a stop to that~! That is just fucked up. Sorry man~!

Walmart has instituted a one per day policy for the most hoarded stuff. At least my hometown Walmart has.

I was in a 99¢ store weeks ago and they were rationing the Lysol Wipes. Sad are fucked up people can be. What is worse is the stores not putting limits on stuff that people are hoarding.

I am only doing replenishment shopping right now.
The reserve I accumulated well before any panic buying started is just that a reserve.

I am waiting for a politician to promise toilet paper for everyone if elected.

Oh and by the way, @SteveS45 You my friend are contagious!!! Last night, when getting ready for bed I realized there was a bare spot on my shelf. Okay, where's my Asmodus squonker??? Took me about an hour of looking ( okay, I exaggerate, more like 30 min) till I remembered I had been doing laundry that day. Yep, there she was, on the shelf in the laundry room. I had to laugh at myself and I thought of you :)
