Absolutely fabulous although it was kind of weird since it happened not far from here on the South Shore.

Once Upon aTime in Hollywood. not bad, but not great. 40 mins to long, lots of useless shit. funny Pitt kicking Lee's ass. good fight at the end. 3 1/2 stars

Ford vs. Ferrari watched on an airplane last week.
Henry Ford II and his Sr. VP were complete assholes, but it was a really good movie if you are into racing. 4 stars

“The Saint Takes Over” with George Sanders and Wendy Barrie. (1940) Very good movie, really loved it.

What was really creepy was remembering how it was in the paper every day and having the Causeway Closed because of the search for the bodies.

I’ve never been out that way, but it was creepy anyway. I watched something about it on City Confidential (I think) a few years ago on YT. Very messed up case.

Shaft (2019) - 5 / 10

Plenty of comedy and some interesting moments mainly thanks to Jackson putting in a very entertaining performance as Shaft.

The culture and generation gap thing doesn’t always work, ending up embarrassing rather than relevant, but there’s plenty of Shaft’s signature style and attitude on display. The story isn’t anything special, the action scenes appear almost incoherently, the lead character is irritating rather than funny, and the “damsel in distress” finale is awful.

Have you seen the original Shaft flick?

Star Wars Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker

I thoroughly enjoyed it and for so many in the series it was very good. At least IMO

Watched Richard Jewell last night. Good movie. Didn't make me think of Clint Eastwood. Felt more like a Ron Howard movie, for whatever reason, not that any of that matters, lol.

A Quiet Place was on, so I watched that one again. Really like that movie, looking forward to the sequel, eventually.

I watched The Killer Who Stalked New York (1950) about a plague scare in NY. Actually, it’s a great film.

So, I've heard that a lot of people didn't really care for Rocketman. It was on, so we decided to go ahead and watch it. We both liked it quite a bit more than we expected to. Not sure what it was that people didn't like about it, or maybe it was being compared to Bohemian Rhapsody, since they came out close-ish to each other. Don't know. We liked it.

Watched 1917 last night, it's a traumatizingly unsalted war film so not suitable for the faint-of-heart. I've been thinking they don't make true masterpieces anymore, and, this one definitely proved me wrong.

i really liked it, and BR. i find it fascinating how those people were, and got to be, what they went through, etc.

UM......Probably Frozen 2? I cannot recall the specific date. I haven't been out for a several months, since the COVID-19 problem.

Gang Bullets (1938) with Anne Nagel. Good crime film.

I figure there’s at least one other old film buff on VU.
