I suspected that. Stay safe.

I’m not watching the news, and it’s so hard to get info online about the situation in the “outer boroughs” of NYC. They had almost no up to date news either about what’s up.

if you will notice that came from The Daily Mail in the UK which often has better news about that is happening in the US than US media does.

Wednesday check in. Nothing new, staying inside. Not watching much of the news, it's overload for me. All of the family and friends are doing well except for our son. He works in Saudi Arabia in the oil fields. He has a fever and not feeling well, the company doctors are keeping tabs on him. Transportation is restricted, he is due to come home in 3 weeks, we'll see. Prayers would be appreciated.

The irony hit me when I went to that page! It’s like on YT, I watch China In Focus-NTD news. They’re anti CCP but Chinese, and they often have better news about US news than we do! And about the CCP virus as they call it.

I hope and pray that your boy is okay! I don’t watch the news either, it just depresses me or stresses me out. Glad you’re doing okay.

I have been picking up things that seem to indicate that China is having another Corona Virus surge?

One thing to keep in mind is that this virus is NOT serious for around 80% of those that get it.
the bad thing is that it is VERY contagious and unless you have had it NO ONE has immunity unlike the flu and such, so it spreads like wildfire.
And is very deadly to those with serious health problems.

Can't like that. I hope your son will be ok, sending my best his way and yours.

We're hanging in. Still only one case in our county. Either the hospital did a bang-up job of isolating it, or there's just no testing for anyone to know the real situation. I've been watching the map every day. Up to over 1700 cases in Virginia now. I don't know how many have died.

One thing I do know. It will be a long time before I go back to Williamsburg. It, along with surrounding James City County, is the epicenter of COVID in Virginia, excepting the DC suburbs.

Amazon package of TP, paper towels, wipes, and that humongous thing of pancake mix arrived today. I guess it took five or six days from the time I ordered it. People have essentially cleaned out Amazon Pantry. I was going to place another order this morning, but there really wasn't much available except junk. We have enough junk already, need staples.

I'm really happy that so many of us are checking in.

ETA: An hour ago the Washington Post published a casualty total in Virginia of 41.

Is today Thursday?

Checking in. Nothing new to report. Went to the restaurant to get the mail and do a bit of cleaning with my daughter. Broke my heart to not be able to hug her when I saw her. Mom is making us 10 masks to distribute to all my peeps here. <3

Other than that, it’s mellow on The Compound(our living space...me, my man, one of my line cooks, one of my son’s friends and my kinda sorta step son(on weekends)). Garden is going in tomorrow. Life is good.....and scary right now. I feel grateful for everything I have. And I’m grateful for my virtual fam.

Yes, today is Thursday. I had to look, for the second time today. I had already forgotten what I saw earlier.

Good on Mom. Way to pitch in.

Good luck with the garden. I'd starve if I had to grow one.

Different subject: Steve Mnuchin made a commitment that the COVID relief payments to US Citizens will begin to be delivered in two weeks, for people who have shared their direct-deposit info with the IRS or Social Security. On April 15 they will open a web portal for others to share DD info if they wish.

I am pretty sure ours was already till May 1. But not absolutely sure.
In any case I am staying safe at home until I feel it is safe to come out.
I really do not need any govt to tell me that as I was already in this mode before our order was issued.
I had already grounded the wife and announced no more than weekly trips to town, and when I went and took the SIL, NO eating out.

I was ahead of the curve on this and will likely be lagging behind the curve when it is lifted.
Remember most places will have more than one surge, and even if they lift the restriction that does not mean that you are no longer at risk of catching the virus and transmitting it to others.

I just seen this in an email:

Last night I got an email with a long list of countries closing down to international shipping... The USPS can no longer ship to 20 countries (listed below), and there’s no telling when shipping will cease altogether.

Same her, nice day and did stuff outside most of day. have no idea on a burn ban here though? I have enough room that I just pile all the stuff up on the back side of property and the pile just disappears in a few years. No problem with burning stuff, just no real need.

We had one of those huge brush piles on our land, from where a section of it was clear-cut before we bought it. That pile was probably 15 or 20 feet tall, and had some pretty tall sections of pine in it. Now, 20 years later, it has finally all but disappeared.

Our goats used to love climbing around on the lower parts of it. They'd have loved to climb higher, but it just wasn't stable enough. They had fun eating all the vines and leaves and mess from around it, though.

Checking in. Last night while getting up out of my office chair I had extreme pain in my right hip. Walking down stairs was a struggle for dinner. I couldn't really sleep last night due to the pain. Same this morning. Got an appointment with a PA to get checked out. He poked and prodded and said it's probably muscle strain, but sent me to get x-rayed to be sure it wasn't a bone issue since that was the hip that was broken in a car wreck back in 1981. He hasn't received the x-rays yet, he will let me know more tomorrow. He did give me a prescription for Tylenol with hydrocodone to take the edge off the pain.

Other than that no covid symptoms and life goes on.

Our customer in Los Angeles was wanting us to start up their project. My boss said he doesn't want me going down there even after I get the leg fixed. That's fine by me.

I’m doing pretty good, still a bit down, but I’m falling asleep at crazy hours. Waiting on some supplies still. No vape shopping for me now. I dug out a Minikin I got on sale, and I’m really liking it. It’s light and small for a dual cell mod.

I’m taking Quercetin, Vitamin C, and Vitamin D3. I’m waiting on Zinc. It can’t hurt to up vitamins, minerals and herbs right now. Plus Quercetin really helps with allergies.

Stay safe, y’all. <3

Maybe ask Jimi about what’s good for muscle pain, if it’s not a bone thing.

Stay safe, Airman. Love you, bro.

I've been having a sciatica flare. I hope that isn't what's going on with you. It's very painful.

I hope it turns out to be nothing serious. Do you have gabapentin by chance?

I was getting stuff from upstate NY which was delish. I even used it to sweeten coffee. Yummy!
Oh I am sure there is much better syrup. Have had better, but do not want to spoil the wife any worse than she already is.
I like the AJ and it is cheap for my tight ass :)

Yeah, that agrees with what I saw and heard a Doctor say a week or so ago. That just because you had it and recover its no guarantee you can't get it again. Some will develop an immunity some wont. It really is a scary one this covid.
Also there are at least 2 different strains of it.

Ky has a lake that crosses the border into TN. Dale Hollow.
Last weekend 3 wildlife officers spent the weekend running people from TN back to their end of the lake as they were camping on the KY side and partying and such on pontoons and houseboats.

One thing I found out today only 4 states have lower percentages of their populations with virus than does KY. Heck even SD has a higher percentage of their pop with infections. They have fewer infections but a higher percentage of their population with it.
