That was seriously happening at my house also due to attitude of an anonymous person - which has abated some with the coming of the sun at least

My unnamed person likes to "pick." I said early this morning that my eyes were bothering me. Said person has asked me every 30-45 minutes all day long how my eyes are. You alright? How's your eyes? You need anything? You alright? Eyes feel better?

Now, one could say that said person is just concerned. Nah. He's picking. Messing around. Perpetrating mischief. I'm just not up for it today. My head has hurt all day, I woke up feeling like shit warmed over this morning, think allergies are attacking me. Tree pollen is everywhere outside. So I don't feel like joking around. Just want peace and quiet and sleep.

On a more serious note, I've just received an e-mail from my boss. A case of COVID-19 was confirmed in the repack center on the campus where I work, in a different building.

The person visited friends and relatives in New York two weeks ago, worked some last week, and was sent home sick last week.

The company has called in a professional crew to clean and sterilize the building where this person worked. I would guess that the building the repack center is housed in is approximately 150,000 square feet.

New York has come to Henderson, North Carolina.

I would’ve preferred an uninflected visit, myself. Sorry, Nada.

All the same here. Colds almost gone. Guy in his hotted up car still going back and forwards several or more times a day even though now it has become an offence to do so under the lockdown rules. Would like to report him but you can bet they'd blame a neighbor and cause trouble.
I see our number of cases here and the deaths and its scary enough, though they admit it is yet to really hit us. But when I see the numbers from you guys and elsewhere its terrifying. Right now our deaths are under 100!

I'm afraid we'll pass Italy next week.

Hey all! Hope this finds everyone healthy, safe, and not too much less sane than one might be accustomed to. Pretty sure I caught it, and have it just about beat, too, at this point. Wife still recovering at home, hit her a lot harder than me. Have been able to work from home for the duration (last day in the communal building march 20, had only worked the previous day that week with reduced staff to support social distancing).Feel fortunate that there are still some job functions i can do and still get paid during self isolation!

Didn't realize it was a fever til i got home and discussed wife's symptoms with her and started thinking about my day :(
Was the only one wearing any face covering (cowboy style bandit bandana, i ain't hoard no masks!) those 2 days, and glad i did cause i probably caught it well before that.

Testing not available even to wife due to state shortage, and she has high risk conditions even(needless to say i didnt waste the breath on asking for one myself!). Something about "would not affect the course of treatment, so no dice - stay home unless you think you're dying, then go to an ER."

She had a rough go for a while. Days spent between the couch and the bedroom, too dizzy and short of breath to do anything but watch 80s and 90s movies from our hoard of discs. She needed to pause halfway through the 20 foot trip down the hall to the bathroom, to regain balance or catch breath. But has been slowly improving so anxiety has been greatly reduced. Ultimately I can't be sure I have/had it with no test available, but lost sense of smell & taste by like 80% for a few days nasal congestion, among other symptoms. suspected fever for an hour or 2 that day i was working (no temp to confirm, but had periods of moderate chills that night /next day plus sweating) occasional weird feeling behind the bridge of my nose, but not runny or congested nose sinuses. Occasional Mild headache, pain in chest near sternum when fully inhaling for a few days, dry & unproductive cough. Moderate fatigue, trouble focusing (mostly while working from the laptop, could also be due to taking over all the chores while the wife surfed couch!) General malaise and feelings of rage I can blame on too much reading coronavirus articles or reddit posts.
Not sure whether to credit mild symptoms for me to my immune system (I feel its pretty robust, rarely get colds etc), blood type O, or the fact that ive been taking echinacea daily since the beginning of march, or consuming raw garlic cloves, spirulina, vitamin c &d supplements, zinc; pretty much everything i had on hand that i anecdotally "know" to boost immunity (don't knock the placebo, haters!). Kept vaping moderately throughout, so maybe the PG helped?

I know most everyone in here is taking this thing seriously, and supporting one another is so important right now. Thanks to all you regular posters, hope my words will bring hope to someone as yours have to me when things weren't looking necessarily as bright as they are now.

I'm gonna quit rambling now.

Be well and stay safe, friends.
Stay the fuck home, and if you can't, cover your face please!

It helps just being here talking. She’s been home schooled two and half years now and amazes me every day. I’m starting to see the the damage school did ( within weeks of entering the education system at the age of four she was a self harmer) undone. She’s so loving thoughtful and kind and has the cutest giggle. Would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it.

Boris has mad a lot of mistakes ( granted Unpresidented times but still ) especilly over clear advice. I think it’s really hitting home how much of a big job he has and how dire the situation is. His career will also be defined by what he does in the next weeks and months but people could help by staying home as much as possible like every where else. Many seem to be ignoring this though and that truly frightens me. The streets are not much different. Just as many cars and people where I am and so many comming and going from the flats. If people keep this up nhs will be overwhelmed. Slowly bit by bit they have been shaving bits off of it and underfunding it to the point some hospitals arnt worth going to. We are lucky to have it but in most cases it’s a crazy mess at the best of times.

I can emagen its very scary for a lot of people but at least here we can suport one another :) I hope you are able to get every thing done you need to in a safe way  were just carrying on as normal without my daughters activities but she’s still leaning so we’re kept busy and the internet comunication with her friends is making her so happy. Today she’s cooking, cross stitching, doing science experiments and social time through games. In fact if I don’t think about food or the outside world it’s a very relaxing time for us as not having to rush around with so many activities is nice. That’s got to sound weird to most though lol

We are in the south of London. When last I checked in a five mile radius we had 85 confirmed cases and I didn’t look into the deaths as I want to stay posative.

Vaping has been really good the last few years. I found some of my favrout recipies on VU :) and mix up flavours in large batches to add to my stash of vg. Curently I’m vaping flavourless though as I quiet enjoy it. As of 7pm tonight I’ve got every thing for at least a couple of months. Any thing I forgot can come off eBay but I’m not worried about it.

I hope you have every thing you need and are not having to go out to often. Online hugs are always good and are something that should never be in short supply

Every one stay safe be good to one another and try to relax as much as possible xx

How are you and your daughter getting on? We haven’t heard from you here and I wanted to make sure you’re okay.

Stay safe. :hug,:

I'm no doc, but sure sounds to me like you've had it. Glad for your sake it was relatively mild. I've been eating echinacea and garlic and vitamin D also.

Hope you and the wife are soon fully recovered! Thanks for your post!

Was one with the couch today. Didn't play as many mind numbing games today. Haven't been out for several days. May need to go for a good walk tomorrow with the dog. We do need to go to the grocery store tomorrow, but I really don't want to. Might have a little panic buying. Stores have been back to being well stocked but I say a few stories today about an impending food shortage.

Wishing you both a speedy and full recovery. Hey, better to take precautions and helps that even later we might find out didn't matter, we lose nothing and hurt nobody by doing so. And we also may find out it was the best thing we could have done and even saved a life without knowing. Better safe than sorry.

I bought a bandana to wear as a mask, since I wanted something to wear if I go out.
I was looking at them this week, before they started suggesting that people wear them instead of masks. The price doubled or tripled today!!
I understand wanting to make a profit, but not blatant price gouging.

I’m wondering if a bunch of us on VU didn’t have it in late Fall or early Winter. So many of us were sick with flu symptoms but with stomach problems and dry cough. I’ve never had anything that made me sick in that way. And I got sick right after a trip into Manhattan (on the subway) and eating out there.

Hi, I heard a doctor talk about making your own and with all the sugestions he gave, even out of a cut up t shirt, he said double layer it. We have masks but I also have a sun tube for fishing if I wear that I fold it down over my nose and mouth doubling it up. And dont forget to wash them after each use.
Here the new advice is for well people not to wear them, statements along the lines of if you dont fit it right you might get itchy and scratch your nose or mouth with infected fingers. Well that is advice im ignoring as far as wearing them goes. When we do go out again we will for sure be wearing our masks.
Hope you feel better soon too.

Good morning! Hanging out, still in my pajamas. Boys out fishing for the day. Thoroughly enjoying the house to myself. Planning on doing some mixing and vape maintenance today. Everyone is still safe and healthy, as far as I know.

Hope y’all are doing ok and staying safe and sane.

I'm pretty sure the hubby and I both had it back in January. His case was far worse than mine... sever fatigue, fever, dry prolonged cough, shortness of breath... I remember him saying at one point he felt like he was drowning. Mine was fever for about a week, dry heaves for 2 days, fatigue, and shortness of breath (I described mine as an asthma attack). I spent 2 days vegged out in my recliner. I never got the cough, but maybe the PG kept it at bay? We did go to the doc and were both put on a course of antibiotics. It would be nice to know for sure though, maybe our antibodies could do some good? But I'm taking the precautions as if we never had it, they still don't know if you can get it more than once.

It's finally warming up enough to be outside without a coat. Gonna be 63° today! :) Got the birdseed delivery coming today, so it's time (Way paste time actually) to get the feeders cleaned and going again. Hopefully the tweeters all come back even though they don't have a tree to perch in anymore. :( But we're gonna get a new one, probably a 5-10 year old starter.

I have groceries coming in tomorrow.. had to resupply the veggies and perishables.

Work gave us a timecard code to use if we run out of stuff to do from home which is cool since people in my department are all field workers. I can only work so long on a database for my next project without going crazy and watching training videos are a sure cure for insomnia. I don't know how DBA's can handle that job.

Our customer in LA is wanting to start the site surveys next week. My boss said I'm not going until the leg feels better and he's not too keen on me going with the crud down there. LA county has 4566 confirmed and 89 deaths, so I'm not too keen on going down there as well.

Anyway the hip is feeling better, giving it some rest is helping. My wife has been mowing the lawn which is helping as well. I think she is using it as a cure for cabin fever as well as long walks with the dog.

Still at 16 confirmed cases in my county. All is well in my house.

Be safe everyone!

I don't know how it got to be after 4 in the afternoon. Seems like I just got up! I think I slept in my chair here for a couple hours, so that explains part of it.

Mixed up a couple 30ml bottles of new recipes, tried to read and fell asleep, had an outstanding breakfast that hubbs made this morning, we're just here and not going anywhere today. Spent money on two of my kids, who have no money.

My oldest two were already out of work when this virus started up. My daughter is royally screwed - not eligible for unemployment because her time at her last job wasn't long enough. And what home builder is going to be hiring project managers and purchasing directors now? The relief money that the government is sending will help her for a while, but not long enough. I just don't know what she will do.

Still only one confirmed case in our county. Virginia Beach had 27 cases one day last week; today they have 160. That's what happens when people go to the beach these days.

Around Jan Feb my wife and I got a crazy something. Felt hugely fatigued, and cough was insane, never had one so bad and was a dry one that felt by day 3 it was tearing my throat up each cough. I developed a rash over my stomach and by day 7 we were both having mild hallucinations, like youd see something flicker by out of the corner of your eye. We had a number of symptoms except for the fever. It lasted 3 weeks and wasn't until week 4 the cough went. Was the second worse bug/virus we'd ever had, but worst cough ever.

Economically this things becoming a destroyer isnt it. What on earth the world will be like in 6 months time (figure pulled out of the air) I'm not looking forward to seeing. Think its a given crimes gonna go through the roof.

Woke up around my typical 11am. Wife and I did our weekly grocery shopping and Walmart run. More and more people wearing masks. Many of the masks are useless and seem like they are being worn to make others feel better. Got some Lima beans on dinner. Pretty boring around here.

Doing pretty good. Got a whole bunch of supplies delivered the last two days. I feel a bit better with some food that I can store if needed and stuff like vitamins and soap. Not prepper ready, but better than I was last month.

Getting detailed info on my area is hard, but my county has been pretty hard hit. I haven’t been out in days but it was ghostly last month.

Stay safe, VU people.

I bought a bandana with a “bronco cowboy” on it. I figured if I have to wear a mask, I’ll make a vintage statement while doing it!

It’s NOS, so it’s new and old. :teehee: But it will keep me and other people safe.

Stay safe, everyone. <3

Good morning VU!

All is fine on the family front and here with us.

Ordered some 3M 6300 Filters for my old respirator... didn't order N95... grabbed 10 packs of (20) P100s along with a small 3M 6300 for the wife. Looks like she will be heading to the floor... not an absolute yet... but since Nurses can bring their own masks... fuck if I am going to let her end up in ICU without a proper respirator.

I had my mask for a long time... many many years ago, I did a retrofit job that had 2ft of hardened pigeon shit stuck to air handlers and we literally used hammer drills with chisels to break free the years of pigeon shit... I bought 3 then... 1 for me and 2 for my apprentices... it was nasty.

They wont be a sight to see especially in an ICU setting lol... but they seal much better than traditional N95 masks.

Mine is like this one

upload_2020-4-5_8-58-16.png

But I ordered the lighter smaller disc filters like this

upload_2020-4-5_8-58-58.png

They should be here by Wednesday

Overkill? Yup... Don not fucking around lol

Two cases here now. It'll get here eventually. We're just at home again today, and hopefully tomorrow, since we don't really need to go out for anything.

Sending out my best to @always9988 and @f1r3b1rd and hoping things are manageable for them.

Falling asleep in my chair again, sure makes the day go by fast, and then I'm awake for half the night. Put a pot of beans on to simmer a few minutes ago, so need to stay awake now so I can watch them.

Hang in there everyone.
