Monday check in.

Made the painful decision to permanently close my restaurant. Ran the numbers every which way I could and realized that there was no way to reopen. The PPP loan never materialized, but that would be even more debt in an uncertain time. And the possibility that the virus resurges in the fall? Best to just throw in the towel......

Otherwise, all is well here. Virginia continues to climb in cases. Already over 500 reported this morning. My city and county climbs a few a day(that they know of). But we’re healthy and stocked up, so I count my blessings daily.

Keeping y’all in my thoughts.

Man, the casualties from this thing...Hope you rise up from this in something new and rewarding

Headed to the doctor soon. My knee is jacked. Swelled up. Stiff. And it's oozing a clear reddish liquid. Hurts like hell.
My poor homeowner that I'm working for. They have been waiting 5 weeks or so to get me out to resume work. I got one day in yesterday and my knee caused more trouble than anything.
Hopefully the doctor can give me proper medicine for it and something for the discomfort. Im going back to work tomorrow regardless.

Sounds like doc might need to draw fluid off that knee and shoot it full of cortisone. Yikes! I hope they can help you.

Yeah it's nasty. Couldn't figure out why the knee of my work pants had a weird wet stain on them Saturday afternoon while working on my kitchen. Then the next time I bent down, I felt the liquid squeeze out of my knee into my pant leg.

Sorry for grossing out any of you squeamish people out there.

Update: Got a call from the Hospital from a Palliative Care nurse. My sister developed a fever overnight and having trouble breathing. They took her off the VPAP because they can't give her nourishment to gain strength. Steroids, Antibiotics and Morphine being treated with. Had to do a Whatsapp Video Call so parents could see her because it is just too dangerous to visit. They started to talk Hospice or End of Life care.

What day is it? How many days has it been since I've left the house??... I have no clue! It's just me, my critters, and this box.

Hubby is home til tmw, we did Olive Garden take out for our 14th anniversary.

I'm so frustrated right now. My desk chair is broken... so I spent countless hours shopping online for just the right one. I'm a BIG gal, and require a big n tall office chair. I finally picked one out, it gets here, I let it sit for 2 days. Put it together Friday... was so excited to have this $350, super comfy, squeak free chair. UGH!!! ... It's too high! :headbang: It won't go any lower, making my feet fall asleep. :(:(:( This thing had to be shipped by freight since it's 80 lbs. What a headache this is gonna be trying to disassemble and return it. Not to mention now I have to find another one!! o_Oo_Oo_O

Still healthy... I think. I've had a dull headache, scratchy throat, and chest is a little tight for well over a week now. But it's allergy season for me, so I'm sure that's all it is. No fever, no loss of taste or anything like that.

Mom has been hard at work making masks... she's made well over 100... made these two for me :D

Have you ever tried Quercetin, Pami? It’s helped me a lot. Jimi and 2WhiteWolves told me about it.

Just got back from the doc. She put me on an antibiotic and motrin. Bursitis with cellulitis. So it's ruptured and infected. And I'm waiting for a knee specialist to contact me so they can drain it and hit it with cortisone just like @nadalama had suggested. She wants me to stay off it until then. Nah, I'm going to work. Just going to take it easy.

Still nothing new here. The chicken hubby smoked yesterday was so good! Having more of it today, too. I did learn how to clean the filters on my dishwasher, lol. I will never use the pods of detergent! The plastic of the pods melts all over the screens, tons of bits and pieces that have to be scraped and pulled off. I spent 2 hours on it , will do more today.
Prayers for Your sister, Steve. Healing thoughts for your knee, Chain.
Stay safe and healthy

I hope the meds help. Maybe your wife can put a poultice on it to draw the infection out.

Go easy at work please, bro. Maybe you can lean on something while you’re painting.

Feel better! I’m glad things turned out pretty well!

Tuesday check. Today would be my Mom's bday, so Happy Birthday Mom! I miss you dearly. She would've been 80 today and fussed about it the entire day. I can even still hear that tone, lol. She would've dolled all up just to remind everyone that she wouldn't look that age. Oh the vanity of the southern woman.

Got a call from the hearing center, canceling my appointment for Thursday, that I had to take a vacation day for. Called them to find out what was up, and the chickie on the phone said she didn't know why I got that message, because all is as scheduled. Happy for that, I'm getting an upgraded sound processor. Been waiting on this for a long time! Aside from that not much new to report in my section of the planet. Heading to work in a bit, masked and gloved up.

Be safe as can be, everyone. <3

Your older self is going to regret that decision - speaking from considerable experience here

While no one respects scofflaws and laziness, it's a disservice to you, your family and the client to work at less than 100% capacity and AMA; the long term consequences are real sadly:hug:

Glad to hear you are getting your processor upgraded.
I think I need new memory...

Had to go back to Wally world today for a prescription for the wife. She forgot 1.... :blah: Also picked up a few things.
Was a mom and 3 kiddos in there with no masks and at least 1/2 of them coughing.
Gave them a wide berth and glad I had mask and gloves.

My gosh @SteveS45 ! I know how hard you've prayed and giving so much love to your sister. I can't imagine what you're going through right now. I'm definitely praying for your sister AND you!

@ChainVapeS It swelled enough to break the skin and you didn't realize it. You're apparently a strong man with a pain threshold like superman. I agree with Nada. Going against doctors orders, especially needing the treatment you need will make it worse. What if you wind up needing a knee replacement? That will have your ass in bed or on the sofa for a long time. Why take the chance. I know it's so you get paid, but it sounds like the scale isn't quite tipping in your favor if you keep this up, mister.

Me? I've been better. I think having Chuck home all day is throwing my mental state for a loop. I've lost all motivation to get things done. We have so much rubble to get rid of since the counter tops and cabinets were installed. And, we can get rid of a lot of trash in the living room. But he's back to messing up the kitchen which I will NOT clean. He needs to do that for himself. And, he's playing video games, sleeping in and taking naps. He'd never do that in the past. Ooh, there he goes for a nap. Up at 9am and down at 12:45pm.

I went to the dermatologist yesterday. I asked Chuck to take a look at my back because I had an itch I couldn't get to. He said, "You're gonna want to see this". He took a pic. It was a very large dark spot in the center, radiating outward in a odd color at the bottom. He was quite concerned. I've already had it removed on the top of my nose. I saw the doc and he also found one on my abdomen. Biopsies were taken from both and he said he'd call me with results within 2 weeks. I'm concerned for both locations since I smoked for 46 years, have severe COPD and my diaphragms are flat. I was warned by my old PCP of 50 years as he was showing me my x-rays of my lungs. He said if I didn't quit soon that the damage would be irreversible. But I continued to smoke.

I didn't have the doc give me a full body scan. But he did see all of both legs, my back, chest and abdomen since they were exposed. I see my pain doctor Thursday and go for a 4 hour stress test next Thursday. I've had video appointments with 3 physicians in the last 10 days. Not fun.

A huge congrats to Amber, he's such a cutie.
Chain, it might be good to listen to the girls this time, don't want to do any more damage to it, maybe just do the easy work tomorrow if you feel you have to go my friend.
Steve, so sorry to hear about your sister, keeping her in my thoughts and prayers, and Yes don't ever give up buddy.

I have always wondered what was up with everyone hording toilet paper, couldn't figure it out till today, when I was in the store and had to cough and when I did 20 people shit themselves. Now I get it.

Tuesday check in. We are still staying safe and being very careful. Had to go to the store today, seen most of the people had No masks or gloves:eek:, idiots;), I think it's in protest to the new manditory mask law in this state that starts on the first:facepalm:. So just bracing for round two to hit:rolleyes:. Only 19xx new cases and I think about 50 deaths here today, hey it went down a few, so toss the masks and gloves in the garbage Yeah, right.:gaah: My brother is still in ICU, was hoping he would get back to a regular room:(. Everyone be careful, stay safe. and please wear your protective equipment.;);)

Well with the last call things are not looking good. For a person who has been Quarantined for 6 weeks to get the Corona-VIrus or Covid-19 that is pretty fucked up. BP is low and breathing labored. I am beside myself and looking in right now.

Late Check in... but all is well.

Went to Wells Fargo to remedy the wiring of money to my brother...there is a wire transfer limit I wasnt aware of, guess the last time I sent money, I was under that limitation.

This whole soft opening of California really has me worried. Kaiser is planning on having full patient teaching again by end of May... This in my opinion will coincide with what I believe will be the next spike of infected (Since they opened beaches etc yesterday) businesses will be opening by mid May (If they follow distance protocols, basically a 50 person normal coffee ship lets say, will be open to public and sit down, but less tables, no standing room etc and strict spacing.

Additionally wife scheduling is changing again, since she is in a float pool (better than furlough) and she might be on the 3pm-midnight shift for employees (All that enter the Hospital with a Kaiser ID) She will be in the Tent to hand out PPE, no direct patients.

OR

She heads to the Non-Covid floor with patients

This is for the next few weeks til her department is scheduled to reopen (last week of May)

Family is well, I am well

Thinking of running a contest for our resident mixers... $50 PP to the winner... have to speak to those that be to see how my idea works for them ;)

Be safe

Update: My Sister Karen is improving and fever is gone. Breathing better and Blood O2 is now up to 94%. Not out of the words but major improvement since yesterday they were talking Hospice Care. I told them Karen is a fighter and don't give up on her. Good Hospital but I have to think it is God answering all your prayers.
