Ouch. Hope Sparky feels better, Bunny. I think bumps may hurt more when they go down, for some reason. Keep up the aspirin for a bit, just to be safe.

Owww, his eye looks painful. Keep a close watch so Sparky doesn’t fall now because of his eye and head.

Glad you’re doing well, otherwise.

Our super slick Chief of Police basically announced on TV that police would not be responding to anything that wasn't "violent". Dumbass. I rarely see cops around when I'm heading to and from work. People are speeding all over the place, racing on main roads, just ridiculous.

Our company gave us letters to carry with us, in case we get pulled over for being on the road, but no cops around these days. It's just weird. Really weird.

I saw just a bit ago, on the news, we've hit over 5,000 cases here. Less than 3 weeks ago it was just barely over 1,000. Every time I see they're wanting to re-open the businesses, it scares me a little. I do really wonder, how long will this all take to get back to some kind of normal? I feel like it's going to be quite a long time, sadly.

All you guys gotta stay safe. I feel like we live in our own bubble, and we're all neighbors of sorts. It's kinda fun that way.
Hi. They may relax some of our restrictions in a few days time here, so they say. In our town people have relaxed it themselves weeks ago. I get woken almost every morning by the sound of hard revving hotted up cars and often fall asleep hearing them doing burn outs at night. The Police in our town in that regards are useless and just seem to let them. One day at the shops one hoon flew past easily doing twice the limit whilst a cop was in his car waiting for his partner getting a drink. He came out of the shop, got in the car, the hoon came back past flooring it and neither of them so much as turned their heads. Was probably one of their kids. :giggle:

Ha - learned something new today - we just call them "those assholes"

:D I sometimes wonder if what I type are known words there.
Yep, they do that all around our town. The tyre shops ( we spell tires here tyre) must be making a fortune. They are so easy to pick that it's ridiculous. You will see one of them doing the usual fast driving with loud exhausts (bizarrely they all sound the same and must all like sheep get the same system) with their alloy mag wheels and low profile tyers making as much noise as they can. But then you see the same car the next day and he has put on the back steel rim wheels with no hubcaps with cheapo tyres on. Mmm, what could he be about to do I wonder? Later that night roaring engines, spinning wheels, next day as you are walking you see burnout fishtail marks going 100 meters plus up the road. Sometimes shredded tyre debris. To be honest I'm sick of hearing them.
But thankfully we have little violence in our town, I guess they let out their anger doing their burnout hoon driving so maybe I should be thankful and not so annoyed. :giggle:

Just received the latest update.

my aunt is now RESPONDING to nurses and staff by nodding yes or no to questions!
Great news Amber. Hope she keeps improving.

Around here, there is a "club" of asshole drivers. They have window stickers labeling themselves HOONIGANS. They all drive beat up pieces of shit.

Just saw that you guys there actually have Hoonigan racing! Cool.
This is what the roads and streets look like around where I live, taken just before on our walk, its everywhere.
Darn hoons!

Can our mods ban like at ECF, though?
Yes, but it takes a lot for it to happen. On the flip side of that, though, there's a lot of rope when it comes to shaming the thief into oblivion. They don't tolerate that, but we won't stop it from happening. We don't have a Hall of Shame and Mud Pit for nothin' ;)

I hate that it happened. I'm glad he got banned there and I'm hoping he doesn't come back here to steal more stuff from people. Unfortunately, this most likely isn't the first time he's done something like this, and I'm sure it won't be the last. Pretty sad when you have to go posing on an online forum, create a rep for yourself of being a thieving asshole. Lucy, on the other hand, has a fan club, and her rep speaks for itself. <3

I’m awake at 3AM thinking about lockdown and NY Vape Bans. I’m not sure why I’m upset, since I’ve been mixing since the last bans were threatened here. But it’s pissing me off that Cuomo is being so heavy handed during this pandemic.

So I’m pissed off and worried if I’m prepared enough now.

Good morning VU!

Ear is still all goobered... no fever or out of the ordinary pain today or draining puss... so I am going to believe the Doc and her online assessment that its wax lol... Wife brought home an ear cleaning solution goobledygook thing from the Hospital...which did not at all feel good, but I was able to sleep soundly once the pressure subsided...

The stuff I guess loosens the gunk then bonds to the gunk then you warm water rinse it out... lemme tell you, I'd rather of been nut punched... Emailed my doc to set an ENT appointment... I'll let them do a thorough cleaning like you see on youtube where they pull out gunk for days... I mean near 47 years of ear gunk... I am sure there is a ton in there LOL... especially with the life worth of shit I listened to.

In other news, its less than 16hrs California heads to Phase 2 of reopening... Yay I guess... well Yay for my favorite coffee joint opens up and I can order to be shipped... but yeah no, to soon still, but not soon enough for the economy...

Family is good, I am good...and today is going to be a gorgeous day in SD... So I might see if the old dogs (12/13 soon to be 13/14) are up to the task of a longer walk than normal.

Be Rad everyone, but most of all be safe!

So do I do pulled pork sandwiches with baked macaroni or just smoked pulled pork with smashed potato?

These are the decisions that keep me up at night

Bake macaroni would love to see how you do yours.. yum yum

I've only managed to hit homemade baked mac & cheese exactly right a couple of times over the years, but when it's right, OMG, it's the best thing ever.

My sister makes a slapdown mac & cheese. She uses Cheddar and Gruyere in hers.

I’ve been hearing honking and yelling for weeks now outside, and wondered what it was. So, now I’ve heard that there are rent protests going on all over.

I get it, since rents in my neighborhood are really high. Like $3;000 high at least. Really bad situation for everyone here.

Anyway, doing pretty good. Days are all the same, but I’m used to it, I guess.

Stay safe and healthy, VU people. <3

I like low end mac n cheese. After I do the macaroni, I empty out the water, put some milk in, and mix in the powdered cheese on low heat. It comes out good.

I’ve made it with fancy cheese and cream, but the stuff in the box is great in a pinch, imho.

The Mud Pit is great since members can go there and do what they want, and the rest of us don’t have to see it.

You’re a good mod, Huck.

Oh, but the good homemade stuff, Rhianne. You bring that pan out of the oven all bubbly and golden and orange with cheese, and it's all saucy and buttery, and.....jeez....hard to beat that. Best pan of it I ever made was at Christmas one year. It was perfect, and that pan of mac & cheese probably weighed five or six pounds. Don't think I've ever nailed it quite that well again. I thought my pig-of-a-son-in-law was gonna make himself sick eating it.

To me, if you have just a few too many bits of pasta, then you have a little less room for milk, thus less sauce, and it's just not as good. As Bunny said, there really is a precision to it that's hard to get right every time.

I’ll try it! I’ve never baked it. Usually if I make mac n cheese, it’s because I’m too stressed to make a “real” meal. But my hubs likes my cooking, it’s strange.

I bought some Einkorn pasta which is a little denser than regular pasta so it might benefit from baking. Plus I’ve been getting really good cheddar from Vermont. It’s different than the cheddar I’ve gotten in the store. Really yummy, and I can get it with jalapeños and chilis, or garlic peppercorn etc. I’ve thought about it with macaroni, but baking it sounds great!

Thanks, Nada.

@Rhianne all our mods are top notch, but yeah Huck is special. She's my sister from another mom and dad... :D

Mid 90s today, pushing 100 tomorrow here in the Central Valley. Allegedly back down to the mid 80s Sunday according to the weather guessers.

Me, my wife, and the critters are all fine.

That would be killer! Too bad I'm out of tomatoes. I have a few cans of diced but not quite the same.
Can picture a mac n cheese, puttanesca style.
Going to have to make that a project
Stewed tomatoes and macaroni. Scrumptious and yes some cheese and maybe baked a bit to brown the cheese on top.

Might even put some pepperoni on top....

My son and I just had mac and cheese with cut up pieces of breakfast sausage, and some seriously sharp cheddar cheese in it for lunch. Yummy!
