Happy Mother's Day! Every day should be Mother's Day. Not just one day of the year, created solely for the benefit of retailers. After all, none of us would be here, if it weren't for our Mom's. :inlove:<3 :inlove:<3 :inlove:<3

We Love You Mom's of the World! You are Special Every Day of the Year!

I just want to clarify that I have absolutely nothing against supporting our retailers. I do, and we should. I just don't agree with doing so, by rewarding them with a holiday that disrespects our mothers, and discredits them of the recognition that they so very much deserve from us 365 days a year. To me, it's blatantly obvious just who it is, that this holiday was truly created to benefit.

All is well here. Warm and sunny again, house is opened up. Hubby is playing in his workshop again, Jessie is still watching birds and hoping for a squirrel. I need to package up the 3 tops I ordered and get them ready to return. All the same size, one is too small, one is too big, and one is cut funny. Oh well.
Glad to see you are all ok!
Happy Mothers Day!

To All Mothers Here,
Motherhood, I’ve heard, is one of the most challenging, rewarding, and incredible experiences a woman can have. So I wanted to take a moment to recognize and thank all the wonderful mothers out there! Your sacrifices on behalf of your children are remarkable testaments of love, courage, and care.

I’ve heard it said that the hand that rocks the cradle also makes the house a home. And it’s the prayers of the mother that keeps the family strong.

Good morning VU!

Hope you Mommas had a wonderful day!

Ear is goobered still and getting worse now... seems my only avenue is Urgent Care... Yay! ....No lol

Family is doing well... sending a care package to my #1 Niece in Arizona for her graduation... just waiting on a coin to be delivered.
upload_2020-5-11_7-45-36.png

Something different since she likes Coins, and a card/letter from us.

She is so rad, I am saddened she will be missing out on a formal graduation... I even had a megaphone and air horns I was going to take and wanted to be that family member with the Big Ass sign yelling from the top their lungs haha... only upside is not burning alive in late May Phoenix weather, but I would gladly sacrifice to be that obnoxious Uncle at her graduation.

Wife heads out on the evening shift this week, and soon will be back in her Department (2 weeks I think is when) and won't be giving me the willy's worrying about her safety anymore... can't wait.

Anyway, be safe everyone

That coin is so cool, Don. She has to love it! You’re a great uncle, btw.

There are only a handful of holidays that have any real meaning for me. The one that celebrates our thankfulness to the One Who gave us our Great Nation. The one that celebrates the birth of our great Nation. The one's that celebrate our brave Veterans and Military that keep our Great Nation free. And, the one that celebrates our laborers. All the rest, imo, were created solely for the benefit of the retailers.

Well said, Rob.

Please say you’re not in urgent care for your ear. Or that your niece is not there either.

At home now... but yeah was there for my ear.

Doc came in and first thing he asked me was how my RA/PA was doing...

Answered him, and immediately I said I was concerned that I may of developed plaque within my ear and he was equally concerned.

He took a look in both ears and said no impaction or plaque psoriasis he can see, but immediately said he can see why I was in discomfort as my inner ear was inflamed and swollen almost shut.

He put a few drops in, had me grab a script for an AI and AB drops and I’m home.

Niece is all good she’s in Arizona

Well we get a call my Sister was doing better and sitting up today. They were going to start feeding her and may not need to put the feeding tube in. But 1 hour later another call she passed away.................... That was her last spark. RIP Karen.
Very sorry to read that Steve. My true and deepest condolences to you and your family.

So we are ok. Have been sick for a few days with some nauseating stomach bug and I think in that time have only had 3 puffs on my vape. As I watched my misses vape about 60ml in that time. If wasnt married I think I would have slept for 80% of the time and not got out of bed. Almost over it, nothing to do with anything remotely flu or cold like. Must have eaten something not right.
We are having restrictions eased tomorrow, as of midnight tonight. Can go fishing again and detecting. Heading for a small mountain range tommorow so we can have a nice decent drive with some scenery and use the detector. Wow im looking forward to that.
Sorry to read of the sad news here for some.
Hope everyone is ok and stays that way.

Good morning everyone! Asking everyone to please pray for a friend of mine from (ecf). Her forum name is Opinionated, and she's a very lovely person. She has not posted in the forum since May 1, and the last pm I got from her was last Thur. May 7. We had been pm'ng, and, or emailing pretty much every day up till then. She told me she has been very ill, not from corona, but that she has some very serious health issues that are getting worse, especially this past year. I am worried about her, as she is usually very responsive to our pm's, and just nothing now. I can't share our last pm here, but it was bad, and I'm terribly worried. :(

Good morning VU!

Today is rad, well for me that is.

Woke up early as usual, brewed “my” coffee and “hers” ... French press for me in the morning, wife isn’t particular so she gets auto drip

Walked the dogs the usual morning mile before the sun is up, I really enjoy the mornings... world is quiet, no light sensitivity, 60*...simple little things

But what makes today RAD is the lack of ear pain...it’s not 100% but it’s not shut closed and sensitive to touch and to me that’s a win.

Be awesome, be rad, but most of all be safe!

Well we laid my sister to rest in the Family Plot this morning. Even with the restrictions of the Corona Virus the Funeral Directors did a wonderful job and a Priest from our church Blessed her Coffin outside the church plus blessed us all in the car. Her childhood friend came to the church and the director let her have a moment to say goodbye. Then we had a small Service at the graveside with another Priest. Sad but being able to even have any service with the shit going on is a blessing in itself.

Made a trip to Wally World this morning during senior hour. I dutifully went down the aisles in the correct direction while others said fuck this and went however they wanted...:cuss2::gaah: Anyway, got meat, veggies, bread, and actually was able to score a package of Clorox wipes and cleaner. Also snagged another refill bottle of hand soap. The meat department while not totally full, still had a good selection. I got a marinated pork loin with bacon and some brats with bacon and cheddar. Have I ever told you that I love bacon? Could you guess? :giggle: TP and paper towels were well stocked, but I didn't need any this trip or for a while actually.

Yesterday was my wife's birthday. As a "treat" we got Chili's 2 for $25 deal with chips and guac, chicken fajitas, cheesecake, and added on 4 margaritas via curbside pickup. Chili's handles that pretty well. Order and pay online and send them a text when you pull into the lot. Out the door comes your food.

Over the weekend I got some stuff from Home Depot. Order online and they put it in a locker. You get an email with a QR code that you flash at the screen and the correct locker door magically opens.

@~Don~ I'm glad your ear is finally on the mend.
@SteveS45 I'm glad you were able to have a service for your sister. May she rest in peace.

Me, my wife, and the critters are all fine.

That sounds nearly perfect. What a treat! Only thing I'd change, for me, would be the temp, and add snow. I love how quiet the snow makes everything seem. A buffer on the world. Sure could use a buffer on the planet, right now. I think we all could.

Really glad to see that your ear is doing better. Sounded like misery.
Good morning!

Watching Jessie kitty trying to catch a bug on the outside of the screen door. I wish I had the energy she's using, lol.

All is well here. Nothing new, just boring. I'm so glad I have my VU!

Stay safe and healthy
Not boring. I love reading your updates. Love Jessie's antics. <3

You had a really eventful day, yesterday, and you scored big time. I managed to get some Clorox wipes, myself. Lucked into an "in stock" on Amazon, got a really good deal, too. Shocked the shit outta me. Happy belated Birthday to Mrs. Gopher.

Our Home Depot has been doing the thing where they limit how many can go in. We might be heading there today, ourselves.

My own update is kinda the same as any other day. Off work today, so happy for that. Feeling whooped, but doing well. Glad to see most everyone is ok.

I had to venture out into the world yesterday because I am sick. Turns out I also have an ear infection, plus I have shingles. I have been pretty miserable for the last couple of weeks, and when I talked to my daughter about it, she hit the nail on the head and told me right away I had shingles. She just had them herself last year (and she's only 35, go figure). I am having pain from the shingles plus terrible ringing in my ears, dimished hearing, headache, and just a general all-over sick feeling that has been no damn fun.

So I went to see the doctor yesterday afternoon and then sat in the pharmacy parking lot for a half hour while my prescriptions were being filled. Got home and after all that, was missing the anti-viral that the doc prescribed. Called the store and discovered that their system had kicked the transaction out as having been filled at another pharmacy (what?) so they didn't fill it, and didn't mention it either. One of these days I'll learn to check. Anyway, didn't get my anti-viral until about 2 pm today.

I have to tell y'all that I had to have a stern talk with myself yesterday as I was getting ready to go out. It would have been so easy for me to have just gone to bed and skipped that whole adventure. I REALLY did not want to go out, was fretting and worrying and rolling it around in my head.

Don't let yourself get like this. We don't need to get all agoraphobic because of COVID-19.

@~Don~ I'm glad to hear that your ear is doing better. It's good that you kept going until you had a decent answer from someone. I have zithromax and some drops for mine, so maybe in three or four days it will be better.

Check in here. Got outside after about two weeks of rain. Got a fair start on some mowing with the weed-eater. Weather fares well to-marry, be out again finishing some more up. Had to laugh at myself, whilst atop a hill, the lower back decided to torque and spasm as I was mowing. Felt the nerve bundle yank on me and felt like I was a cuckoo-clock being pulled. Both arms swung out, letting go of the weed-eater, fortunate it was slung in the shoulder strap. Then, I recomposed and told my back to fuck itself a bit. Pulled through what I needed there, took a sit and stretch break, finished off the rest of the start I had to do. Yep, I said "go fuck yourself pain!" "how's that work out for ya?" "Still hurts like a bitch, but I keep moving until I don't."

Wife's loving her temp job for the state via the temp service. She seems to think there's reasonable a shot at it getting her in full time. They had an issue at the goodwill. They were trying to start re-open. Wife had told them her new schedule. The manager at her store got pissy, wife wrote a resignation letter that night. There's a few at her store working two or three jobs, and the store accommodates their schedules fine. Why is she any different? Point of fact, she's not and so she quit because it was clear the manager was going to be that way. Her temp job is paying more anyway and if it goes full time, it'll be all that much and more.
