All is well here... restaurants open the 21st... all retail is now open.

We had Mom's birthday dinner last night covid style...

Hi, misswish. Please, watch out for your kitty when she is doing this. I don't know if she's jumping to catch the bugs or not....I hope not. Here's why...
My kitty Squeaky was all excited watching the birdies at the screen door. He was jumping up n down, next thing I knew he hit his head on the door handle and never got up, he died instantly
I would hate and be saddened if the samething were to happen with your kitty.

that looks like it was a Nice party and WHO made the cake the frosting look delicious.
Thanks! ... the cake came from Giant Eagle, that is almond flavored, raspberry filling, with shaved white chocolate on the outside. :p

Moon Pie. Only Moon Pie I ever heard of was in the movie The Green Mile, and the mongrel prisoner who ate it spat it in a guards face! Is that the same Moon Pie?

I had to go to YouTube to find this scene - didn't remember it from the time I saw the movie initially. Yes, that is the very same Moon Pie.

Back in the 40s (the approximate time of the Green Mile) I think they only came in chocolate. Now we have them in a few different flavors.

Basically a moon pie is a layer of marshmallow between two graham cookies, then the whole thing is dunked in a chocolate glaze, or banana, or vanilla, or butter pecan... They used to be kind of a big deal in the Southern US, I know they were really popular when I was a kid.

That reminds me of M-O-O-N spells Moon from The Stand. I think you dislike Mr. King, though. :teehee:

How’re you feeling, Nada? Hope the pain is lessening!

The computer that should have been here Tuesday, then Wednesday, then Thursday, is now allegedly going to appear here today. Got pissed off and called FedEx yesterday. Come to find out Lenovo didn't put in my house number on the shipping tag. CS rep entered that to the shipment record and all should be good. I'll believe it when I get said computer. CS rep was irritated that someone didn't call me to ask the address which irritates me as well. Let the wait begin again...

Otherwise SSDD here.

Ayup...all the parts for my 'new' computer build are arriving willy-nilly. :wait:

Got the main things like the mobo/cpu/ram bundle, Fractal Focus G case, HDD, SSD, and such early enough, but I now have five case fans sitting here and no way to connect them all until a $12 part from Newegg gets here. Arrgghhh...

Friday check. All is mostly well. We lost hours again this week, but is what it is, for now. Panic people hit us hard over the last 6 weeks, or so, so now we're in the mellow. Don't like losing hours, but what do you do? I'll have a chat with our Associate Manager, cuz folks are coming to me to vent and I totally get it.

Aside from that, I'm leaning on a heating pad, low back is hollering at me today. He's messing with his hobby table, trying to get it more organized so he can tinker with his RC car........ not the soda/pop. :teehee: I did hang outside a bit with pooch. She played while I leaned back in the chair with my eyes closed. Nice, nice breeze blowing. Small slice of heaven. She's now gnawing on a bone, Fitz is hanging in the bay on a pillow, keeping check of the hood through the open window, Penny is MIA, snoozing somewhere.

Gonna mess with a couple RDAs later, set up a couple squonks.

Speaking of beans...

Got these tasty beans:

Made up some Mahatma rice

Combined those with my spicy ground turkey filling, Tamazula sauce, pepperjack cheese, and some chilli powder.

Topped with the last of my bottle of Faraon Panamanian Habanero sauce.
Simple little burrito is good. =)

Weird day .... First I went to Trader Joe's for some supplies...they don't allow user's own bags now. I had to stow my TRADER JOE'S SHOPPING BAG under the cart. Huh? they practically started the bring-your-own-bag deal...SMH.

OK, that done, lugged two bags home, fed Milly, and all is well.

Just now though, I had my mailman (we know each other a bit after my six years here) ring my doorbell and hand me an nearly unmarked package.
Nothing was supposed to come today according to the USPS Informed Delivery...hmmm.

BKR5lfL.jpg

Ahhh....on closer inspection, it isn't vape stuff...muahaha...it's evil chiles stuff from Cumbria, England. Nearly forgot I'd ordered things from there awhile back.

Got what I ordered, plus a mystery bag of pepper pods. No markings. No note included.

Damn, Gerald is trying to kill me...I did some sauce reviews for him ages ago...so he knows I like the superhot stuff. I also like knowing what level of doom I'm getting into. Plain 'ol ghost peppers or are they Reapers? A big difference....egads.

I get a strip down the middle about 2 inches wide:gaah::gaah::gaah: and the rest of the screen is white:rolleyes::rolleyes:, I have to screw with it several times to get it right:(:(:(.

On a PC? That sounds odd...I do a lot of blocking but VU still works here using Waterfox Classic.
Using NoScript and uBlock Origin

Can you screenshot that ?

Sounds almost like a video driver error more than a website issue....unless it only happens here.

Good afternoon VU!

So ear was bugging me still... felt like there was something inside my ear... the Neomycin they gave me, helped with the inflammation, but not the plugging of the ear...

...felt as if there was something gooey still stuck up in there...

ANYHOO!

A chunk the size of a pencil eraser and the metal clamp gave birth out of my ear and instant relief...
BE RAD!
Why do I always end up reading these things immediately after breakfast?
Curious, did you get a picture of it?

How bizarre for that to happen! Never heard of anything like it. Sorry to hear that.

FWIW, here is my old chilehead mentor doing a review of that Reaper puree...gotta respect nearly 2mil Scoville chiles...trust me. ;-)
I bought 30 bucks worth of seeds from those guys at Hippy last year and only 10% were viable, sprouted, and were the most pathetic looking things ever. What a wasted effort and growing season that was. Iv grown chillis for years and never had such rubbish ever. :gaah:

Getting cold here now, but today is a beauty. No wind, clear sunny sky. Dont know whats going on right now as im sick of seeing our News which is mostly YouTube clips and set up stories. Who has a cat stuck in a tree and calls the news to come and do a story on it? Or Timmy loses his bike so you call the TV station who come and interview little Timmy then set up a go fund Timmys new bike. How is that news!? :gaah:
Im having a lot of :gaah:moments lately for some reason! :giggle:

Stay safe and well everyone.

@Smigo No I did not.

Good Evening VU!

I did end up back at the docs today due to my ear. 9 day battle... but this time saw a specialist in North County San Diego (I live in Far South County ) and he did a full cleaning of my ears... said the Urgent Care doc misdiagnosed my issue and the Antibiotic drops wouldn't of done a thing (bacterial vs fungal)

But supposedly I have the right shit now LOL... but nearly the same things are still happening when I put the drops in... ear plugged, pressure, head aches... just no pain anymore or sensitivity.

I emailed my primary again late last night... first thing 9am I got a call from the attending RN... said my doc will call me, (Which I responded, "YAY another doc that doesn't know me!... RN said it was my actual Doc... WOOT.) ..which she did... she was on leave til today so the 4 previous docs were ones covering... got a call back a few hours later and she was able to get me an appointment with ENT which was at 2pm...he had a cancellation... WOOT!... otherwise next available was Tuesday... which would of been cool... B day Ear cleaning lol... but yeah... no.

Anyway... he took a gander, explained the UCs Docs error... suctioned my ears, said he got 95% of it, but it hurt like all godly hell... and was loud as hell.

So now I am on a 3week circuit of drops...

YAY!

Mother fuck, fuck fuck... sounds about right... my only luck is bad luck LOL

Oh yeah, all good here with family and health otherwise... but I am getting tired of going to the Hospital... fucking Cooties are there man... GTFOH!

When you're right on the verge of that feeling., .... STOP! :snapoutofit: Step back or aside if you need to, have your space, roughly three foot around you. Take a deep breath and ask yourself and answering honestly. "Will this matter tomorrow? Next week? Next year? Next decade??

Remember stop is,

Stand to attention, be aware of feelings.

The point is abruptness. Get your head "out of the game" for just a few seconds or minute. Know that we all get feelings. It's alright having them visit. But, ...

Take a stand, accept feelings come and go, accept feelings.

You don't need mastery over feelings by tackling each one. Simply acknowledge them, see them visiting. Watch them head out not letting the door hit them on the bum on the way. Feelings are transient much like our time on Earh, they're passing through just as we are.

Order, get yourself orderly by thinking of forward progress, never backward.

Thinking forward means you can also accept mistakes happen. They're simply lessons. "Okay, I don't do that this way, let me try another way, ..." You stay present but realize your future self has learned from a mistake, no matter who or what caused the mistake. Neither who nor what caused it matter, all that is temporary, let it go. Stay present but look ahead.

Play the hand you're dealt using reason, logic not feelings

This is pretty self explaining. Do what you need to do and move on to the "next thing" to do. Don't over think something, not what this says. You can reduce problems down, sure. Keep it simple Sherlock, don't look for trouble, or do and learn more. :) Don't force anything you're doing either. Trust the gentle way, ebb and flow of life, nature, Providence if you trek that way. These will out whatever you're trying to do.

And yeah I'm learning this one too regarding "pushing" myself through back pain. I keep forcing and well, gee golly, what ya think? Back pain getting worse or better? *chuckles*

Yes, I "feel" crappy i can only do so much at any given time. That is rough to let go of for someone like me too. I've always been a f***ing work mule, just "get it done". Plow me headlong into the grindstone. There but for pride to fall, too. So yes, I'm acknowledging my pride but also own up to humility in knowing life is leading me down its course. So I'm wearing down?

I'm told my half efforts are more than most doing full efforts. And that isn't paying me lip service to placate my pride or ego. It is expressing that's alright for me to not keep pushing, forcing. I don't need to feel crappy over it. This is how life goes for all of us.

And see? You're not alone having those :cuss::gaah::cuss2:moments. What's important is to keep yourself focused on the good and better. Bet you did something today to make living in general better. I know you got good in your life too. You got people here that give a shit about you. :) We know life can be harsh. In fact some of us hear life tell us "f*** you".

What do you do when that happens? Dust yourself off, stand back up, look life square in the eye and tell it, "No, you go f*** yourself!" Then, you go on about whatever you need to do. And you know you're not alone telling life to go f*** itself. A good bunch of us do all the time. :) It feels good to do too. :)

Also remember, none of us get out alive. :) So , don't get too serious. It's an amusement park ride, baby. Laugh, a laugh won't kill you. :) Or will it? ;) :p :D :)

And a note. No, I'm not a psychologist nor am trying to pretend to be one posts such as this. What I am though is someone who faces a lot of mental health battles, struggles in life. I'm sharing what I've experienced that works to help me, some taught, some self learned. For example I created the STOP I use above. It is in part something I was taught, modified for my use.

For me it helps, ymmv & all standard disclaimers apply. If you feel you've serious mental health issues, please consult genuine mental health care professionals as soon as possible.

Still no virus with me or mine.
Did some laundry and vacuumed in basement.
Just finished eating Cromburgers I griled. Special recipe burgers. Along with some fries from the air fryer.
Yummy and kind of bloated now.

Yep My personal lock down is not decided by any politician.
Just because places open up does not mean I will go there.
Being a tightwad I kinda like all the money I have been saving on not eating out.
been putting a lot less miles on my old blazer too.
And who knows what the future will bring so I will be frugal and cautious.

Took a huge leap and resumed selling a few things at very small local farmers markets yesterday and today

Was easy to place the product on the table and have buyers put payment on table, no contact and all open air outside; fully masked/gloved of course

Felt pretty safe - gotta start somewhere and learn how to live with this virus

I wish I could have one of those chocolate ones, use to have one of those with a big glass of bovine growth hormones, a.k.a. Milk:giggle:

*chuckles* My grandma used to make kind of a s'mores in her oven, milk and Pepsi with it. "Oh Benny, look they put all these preservatives in stuff. We'll live forever." ...

Her reasoning, the preservatives were put in to preserve people. ...
