Think I'm still around. Not sure who to ask. *grin* I'm going to blame @The Cromwell for all the rain we're getting. Know it's not his fault, or do I" Going to blame him anyway. I could blame myself but I don't recall any rain dances of late.

All seems as well as can be here. We're relatively healthy. I'm about to go get a 20 gauge shout gun, use rat shot and rid us of the mice and rats, but, well.

Milly woke me early this morning, so I slept in a bit after that.
Then got to finishing up the living room computer. :)

The 'new' living room PC is fully working now. Yay!

HVuiZDK.jpg

Got everything hooked up finally, including all of the fans.
Yeah, it's still pretty messy in there right now but I can fix that up later. For now just happy to have it all together and working.

At first I had a "oh crap" moment when it wouldn't power on...Aieee!
It turns out the diagram the motherboard's manual has for the system connectors (like the power button, hard drive LED etc) was messed up. I found one that actually matched what *I* have for the case connectors and voila..it booted right up.

Got Mint 19.3 installed to the SSD with minimal drama and it's flying. Like a 10sec boot to desktop..

And it's super quiet too. I can barely hear it running even with four case fans. The white LEDs on the front two fans are just a nice glow too, not anything blinding.

I did run into an issue with the onboard Realtek Gigabit NIC in Mint 19.3 though, it hates it. Turns out it's a Kernel thing...ugh.. I do have an old Intel Gigabit network card around here somewhere if I need it.

I'll deal with that later...just happy it is built and works finally.

Misses got her result back. No covid but yes they found a flu virus. So much for the flu shot we got not long back! Happy its not covid though of course.
Have not gone for a fish yet as we were waiting for the results. Next week maybe.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Rough to hear. Hope the symptoms don't become too rough and it runs its course, is done quickly.

Last night my wife was shopping a little. Apparently when their calls drop off they are only able to sit waiting. She kept sending me chat links to stuff she was looking at to buy me. Finally told her she could get me a billion dollars so I'd know she'd be okay if something ever happened.

"They got that in prop money on here," she replied back and then sent a link showing it.

"Of course, they would," I said.

I think she missed the point, or maybe she rather not think of the "something happening", that it cancelled it out.

Morning!

Not a darn thing new here, I might have to go internet shopping. Windows shopping as my hubby says. Or get in some reading.

Be careful and stay safe

Nothing new here either except I'm taking a second round of anti-virals for the shingles and doc was gracious enough to give me some gabapentin for pain. I am more comfortable than I was a few days ago.

Hubbs is keeping our son's boys during the days, so I am here working by myself most of the day. So far, he's been getting home anywhere from 3 pm to 6 pm.

Virginia now has about 35,000 COVID-19 cases, just over 4,000 people in hospitals, and about 1,100 deaths. There are 29 cases in my county and 3 hospitalizations. So far, we have had no deaths here. I have been really slack about keeping up with what Governor Northam is saying, but hopefully today I can watch him at 2 pm.

Hope all of you are well and staying safe. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here - better to err on the side of caution.

Well, garbage day here was recent...so as soon as our dumpster was empty the 'people' from the complex across the alley shoved all their fetid crap into ours. I watched them drag it all from the other complex. Trust me, you don't want to see that mattress...looks like some junky barfed and died there. Probably did. Good riddance.

Now we won't have a dumpster for a week, again. The owners over there won't pay for enough dumpsters for all the huddled masses they attract..ain't our problem...but it is.

aFqIVFs.jpg

It's a crappy dark, rainy, and cold day, so to cheer up a bit I made a couple nice Mexican style breakfast burritos. Endorphins are good eh?

1. Made up a Pico of cilantro, onion, garlic, red jalapeno and orange habanero chiles, a squeeze of lime, S/P, ground cumin, and a pinch of a nice and bright N.M. chilli powder.

2. Fried up diced potato, leftover Peruano beans, cooked chicken chunks, onion, and breakfast sausage with some smoked garlic pepper salt and a sprinkle of smoked habanero powder. When about done, I added the Pico, and let it all cook together a bit. Then put that on warm tortillas and quickly scrambled an egg. Added cheese and some Tamazula sauce...done.

Easy-Peasy. :)

Still hate this place, and Milly has been freaking out all morning with all the sirens from ambulances, and etc. at the 'nursing home' across the street.

Glad something is at least taking the affliction down a notch or two - heard nothing but awful stuff about shingles

As for check in, we are all good

Were planning to go out and run a few errands and do the farmers market but it is blustery and wet out, we may just try again tomorrow

Being thankful to Comcrap/Xfinity for their Essentials service in this crappy time...it's saving me $65/mo.

Not damn bad either....all I need. This was a test at 5pm PST; so peak hours...

speedtest_may_22_2020.jpg

Now watching a 720p/60 stream of this:

Snap1173.jpg

(this is on the main PC...FX6300, 8GB of Sniper RAM, EVGA 770 GTX 2GB...using my own modem/router )

Keeps me sane....ish. ;-)
Soon, it'll be warm enough to migrate into the living room and my "new" pc...65F in there now...

Those numbers are crazy. We dont hear much of numbers here now. Seems the curiosity of it all with our media has worn off and we just get "who said what to who" in regards to world leaders and politicians. Its here I actually see what is really still going on.
We are ok, misses said she's feeling a tiny bit better today. Thats good. Other than that its ground hog day here again. Which is nothing to complain about really at all.
Stay safe and well everybody.

SSDD yet again today, but...

Wineries are starting to open back up! Lunch and bottle of wine at one place tomorrow with social distanced tables is nice to hear. Sunday the same at another winery. Next weekend tasting rooms are opening! Yes we are going, no I don't give a shit. I understand that some need to isolate, I don't and most of the world doesn't. Real Doctors are who I'm believing, not politicians.

Me, my wife, and critters are doing fine. My wife and I are looking forward to getting out of the house.

Aside from a mod, what’s a Pico? Looks like a nice breakfast, though.

Yeah? What all was you needing to do to get it back in shape?

And I mean this sincerely, if I could find way there I'd be more than happy to help. Just give me a little room and board. your money would be no good. I can manage some carpentry, a bit of masonry, basic electric, plumbing, know how to use them high dollar manual shovels what got invisible on switches. Yep I know it sounds whacky but dag nabbit I like working. :)

Ah, minor p.s. here. I know I said your money is no good. Happen to recall the "boss" Lady though. So if you want to give a few bucks, fine stick it in an envelope to her. She'll settle with me then, not that I much care for that money shit. But I'm sure you know 'bout "boss" ladies. :)

And y'all know I'm half inclined to extend that to anyone in CONUS. Arrange me cheap transpo, no air travel if possible, I'll go on a train or road dog though. I'll come help as extra hands if needed and same arrangement, you want to pay something, envelope it to my wife. I just need "something" to do and don't mind helping with general labor. Not like WV has jobs. *snort*

Why no air travel? Well, just a slight aversion to it after seeing well. Yeah, so. That and well it's rather bad like cruise ships for the environment. Not as though train or bus is much better but at least they move lots of folks all going the same places with less waste, less possible damage. Besides, "luxury" is wasted on me.

Check check. Still alive and kicking. Out working today. Last few days at stores have been crazy from what I've seen. Lines to get in. Watching people like that makes me think of Pink Floyd's the wall. Where the kids are on the assembly line going into the meat grinder. Not sure why I always think about that.

"Eat your meat or no pudding for you!" *chuckles* "Soylent green is people!" *LOL*

Got to run out today help Lady do laundry. She's got volunteered to wash her mom's hair. Her mom is starting to not like me. I told her last week her money was no good. Boy she fussed, threatened to make it snow. I leaned in and whispered I'd take her husband's money. *chuckles* Hers though, nope. And her dad's only if something he needs is just a bit inconvenient and only a few bucks. So yep, I always wonder why I'm the favorite son in law. *chuckles*

And yesterday I gave Chief Hell about his heart too. He goes start of next month for a stress test. I'm kind of figuring like him, he's blocked up again.*sighs* Can't take fat back hog out of his diet. *smh*

I haven't thought or heard of it. But sounds like something else cool. Working on a walking stick for one of my sons. He found the sticks and stripped it. I'm gonna do his name and possibly some other stuff. Maybe throw a wood spirit on there

I want to thank all our Veteran here for their service, this is their day and I hope it a good one for all.

Saturday check in. We're doin good here, was out for a bit today and the stores were full of people, they seem to think if they are wearing a mask that they don't have to social distance:rolleyes:. And everyone I have talked to has said the same thing, kinda makes wonder if our country is ready and prepared for the second wave or if it will just be a mess like the first wave was here.:gaah: Some are acting like it's all over already:facepalm:. I am staying on lockdown till I am sure it's safe. Everyone stay safe and healthy:).

All the same here. Misses is feeling much better today. The power of chicken soup I say :D
Saw this on the news. Drone, robo dog being used in Singapore to help with social distancing.
Cant imagine it lasting long in an Aussie park somehow before it ended up in a river or tree like our E bikes did.

Also, ...

Mmmm Coffee good. Weed eating evil. Mmm good coffee praise the sacred Juan Guy who brings the bean. Set here drink coffee ... *sighs* Okay, I finish it and go get weed eating done around Cheif's. Need to do of mornings or evenings. Afternoons are being set to char broil.

Good morning!

All is well here, looks like our temps are going down into the 80's for a few days. I will enjoy it, that's more my comfort range. Hubby is making bugs, Jessie is watching for moths. She is hell on moths! And I'm here with you guys, as always.

Stay safe and healthy

Good morning VU!

Beautiful day here in San Diego!

Going to go out and about in a bit... respectfully.

Take a drive along the coast, make a few stops in low populated areas and take pictures... try to have a day of past normalcy.

Totally forgot to mail my Nieces gift yesterday... there was something irking me all day that I had to get done, but got side tracked... then at 3pm I saw the box...DOH!

Now I have to wait til Tuesday and pay extra on shipping to ensure it arrives to her by Thursday LOL (Graduation)... uggh

upload_2020-5-24_8-35-24.png

Be rad everyone! Be safe!

Ear still boogered : no pain or pressure, just plugged... but 9 days of drops without cleaning it out probably the reason... I dunno, sort of embraced this as the new normal :facepalm

Spencer is about 4 hours drive from me. Thanks for the offer but doing fine at my slow pace.
Not like I have a real deadline or anything being retired.
And the job pays me the same (nuthin) whether fast or slow.

Ah, Spencer to get into proper is about a 15 to 20 minute drive East of us. That's Spencer, WV though. Route 33 is set at 55 mph most of the way. Lots of curves, hilly blind spots dart onto it. Hear you though on steady n' slow. Was clearing out some high weeds down lee end of her Pawpaw's house. nice gradual graded hill no more than 30 probably no less than 20 degrees. It wasn't that which made it fun. Nah, was all the little toe holes, nooks what kept you figuring where to step in a sea of wet weed. "Don't think, do."
